Struggling to get to sleep because I'm in pain. I went downstairs for glass of milk and i let the dog out. Whilst waiting for his fluffy lordship I found the two receipts hubby left in the weighing scales from his trip to the shops tonight Aldi £42.89 & co-op £5.49 - so have just scanned them into receipt hog abd shoppix. At least I should get 5 bonus points on each from shoppix :rotfl:
Back in bed now and both dog abd hubby are snoring away. Going to read Quora fir a while until I'm feeling tired! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Morning CG. Hope you eventually managed to drift off. Are you noticing any difference with your pain? Is it easing off slightly or is it the same as it was?
I think the break is an excellent idea and I'm sure it'll benefit you all. Not long to wait either :T I think it's definitely money well spent, everybody should have something to look forward to. A change of scene, a little relaxation and switching of from the daily grind will set you up to carry on with your plans and goals when you get back home. It's easy to become totally wrapped up in debt busting and while that's no bad thing, somebody posted on a diary recently that life is still for living, especially when you have children.
Fingers crossed for a good day pain wise. Take care of yourself. xx0 -

Thanks tea, pain is increasing due to treatment at the minute. It should calm down once stopped as swelling and body has time to recover. I think you're right the change in scenery will do us all the world of good. Life is too short and as much as I'd love to pay the extra spends off the CC, sometines you need a treat.
I did finally fall to sleep and hubby and children woke me at 7:40 to say goodbye. I went straight back to sleep abd didn't wake up until 12:45. I feel brighter and going to have a shower and make a quiche.
I gave up waiting for PA and ended up cashing out £14.99 which I've transferred to my sealed pot bank. That's mounting up nicely as over £100 now.i know I've paid 24p but I'm pleased to finally pot something. 1poll slow going and I currently have £10.50.Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -

Had a lovely luxurious lazy day reading! Quick pie, mash and carrots for dinner so very low effort.
Have placed huge shipping order on my prescription for docs for painkillers and dressings. Going to order a prepaid card which will save me £40+ on this order alone.
Kids both need new waterproof coats do found some on sale so ordered them £46.98 which I'll pay on delivery.
Combined that's approx £75 out of this month's budget! It's made me realise I need to start some saving pots. The kids are growing by the minute so I could do with an account. The cars are another pot that needs establishing and dog. Need to have a good think and try to set it up. It's going to be hard whilst I'm in sick pay, but it'll good to get pots set up for when back to normal. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
I have a pre paid prescription card as well. Otherwise I'd be paying £44 per month or £528 per year as opposed to £104. As my medication is for life I don't like that idea one bit :rotfl:
When you start to think about things, it's surprising how many 'pots' you could set up for a household isn't it. I could do with setting up a couple in the joint account for child related expenses but haven't got around to doing it yet.
So glad to hear you've had a lovely day, you deserve it. Hope you get a good nights sleep but if not just go with the flow and enjoy the lie-ins. Sleep is a great healer.0 -
It's amazing what things crop up in the month that throw your budget out. I'm still only part of the way through my plans for setting up different accounts and not sure where to go next. But I transfer money at the start of each month to an account for clothes and gifts. Sometimes it's paid out as soon as it's gone in but this month's is still in tact so far and I'm hoping I can build it up.
I need a car pot and an I want to start an annual insurances pot. How will you manage your pots?Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Hi tea,
I'm back after s couple of weeks I hospital. It's been a nightmare of complications but I'm home at last and need to get a grip of the finances. Hubby has been doing his best but the shopping budget has been busted with him shopping every other day.
No point in worrying about that, but the EF has taken huge hit to keep joint account. I'll have to check out my spreadsheet and see how bad the damage is!
Hubby has been paid today and our mortgage has gone. The good news is the last repayment has been paid this month so we have an additional £300. I'm going to try and get EF back to 1k.Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230
