Last cash of the month has arrived and I've moved abd juggled it all around.
Balance available £534.29
Need to top up dinner money accounts, but the cashless system is playing up (£30)
Today won't be a nsd unfortunately as we've got a trip to two hospitals so expecting to have to sell a kidney to cover the parking on both. The appointments are am & pm so have said we'd use the friends of cafe for a cheapie sandwich out of leftover food cash. Not sure how much is in there but guess around £20.
I've got 3 unwanted Christmas presents nd hoping that Debenhams are understanding about the refund. I've been in hospital for two weeks and not able to send back via post. Fingers crossed as it's £50!
Surveys still slow going but still plodding on
1poll £9.15
PA £7.60 / £9.19 pending
EF still untouched at £1000.78
My regular saver £270 for special trip away to states with my bestie in 3 years, this is £100 a month out my £200 monthly everything spends and birthday cash
Personal spend account £123.84Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Morning CG, hope the appointments go well. Hospital parking drive me mad. It's bad enough you have to pay but you can't guarantee how long you'll be so it's always a dilema about whether to put more in just in case or possibly having to send somebody back to top it up if appointments are running over.
Ooh, I spy a little savings pot going on for a trip to the USA what a brilliant thing to be saving up for.
Your figures are looking good especially PA. Send some over my way please.xx

The saving pot is me finally trying to take control of my spends and you've given the inspiration to do it! Thanks tea. I know we've talked about it a few times but I'm fed up of being the who hails out the joint account. Hubby has his £200 and sometimes more! If I add it up over the years it's s heck of a lot more. Im lucky my circle of friends are happy with coffee and cake or bottle of wine at home compared to his drinking culture and kebab blowing £60+ a night. My friend has a special birthday in 2022 and we're planning a ny trip.
If I'm good and keep the £100 a month going I'll have a lovely wedge to book it in less than s year and then rest of time is for spends. Its a pipe dream, but I'm hoping to make it a reality and won't spend a penny of family of joint money. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Good for you CG. I know exactly what you mean about OH's lifestyles. We've always put our wages into a joint pot but when I look back I think I'd do it differently, mainly because of what hubby used to to spend. It's years since he stopped but basically I half funded his 200 a week cigarette habit, his obsession with big cars and then his drinking sessions compared to my half a lager.
Makes him sound a right scoundrel doesn't it, he really wasn't, but I think I was naive and I don't think he gave it any thought at all. Probably didn't bother me as I was quite happy just pootling along doing what I did. We earned about the same and he got good overtime, but he definitely spent more than me.
I read on here how the young 'uns do it and I think yes, you're more switched on :rotfl: I still think there should be a joint pot for household etc. but as for stuff like smoking/drinking then you should do that on your own money.
I definitely think with the mindset you have you'll make that pipe dream an actual reality so keep going with it. And thank you for saying you're doing it because of reading my diary. I think we're both going to see ourselves differently as time goes on. xx
ETA - obviously the tides have turned as I now get my spends every month0 -
All this talk of NY on yours and kindofagilr's threads is giving me the travel bug! As if it's not hard enough to control my holiday-booking urges...
Great that you're saving in advance for such a big trip. It's not something you'd want to scrimp on, that's for sure.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

I can't wait to go back and I'm grinning just thinking about it! It's given me the motivation to do it for me and make sure I stop funding hubby and his boys drinking benders! He did start making some noises about needing some new clothes, but I remained tight lipped for first time ever.
Had a few 1poll surveys today do that's creeping up slowly. Hubby put £59.50 of fuel into his car today as was on fumes. Lunch was out of cash leftover and parking wasn't too bad. The good news hubby is fine and they're so happy they've discharged him. Had a win in Debenhams abd they refunded the faulty Xmas presents £50 back into the joint. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Morning CG, hope you had a good nights sleep.
Well done on keeping quiet :T What would you have done in the past, bought him something yourself or taken it out of the joint account which would have affected what you've got to spend? Keep that NY image in your mind and your money under lock and key :rotfl:
I got a really good PA survey last night. Basic pay was £1.75 but there was a chance to earn up to £4.50 and I got £4.25. Very pleased with that and it makes up for having nothing for ages.
I assumed the medical appointments were for you, or I missed you saying they were for hubby. Anyway, pleased to hear that he's been been given a clean bill of health.
Have a good day. xx0 -
Wow that's a great survey bonus well done tea.
Medical appointments for us both so it was a really long day. Suffering today so have pottered for an hour and come back to bed for some morphine.
Today is a nsd #3 which I'm chuffed about! I know feb a lovely short month, but I'm feeling like it's not short enough:rotfl:
Bank balance £534.29 / available £441.05
There's the £50 credit from Debenhams still to come back so it is £491.05. My first direct debit for new gas abd electric is due to go tomorrow and is £106. I'm hoping there may be a small refund from my old account.
I need to get meal planning and do a stick check if cupboards and freezer so we minimise good spends. We do have a couple of days out planned for feb half term so it's going to be really tight! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -

You're doing great with the surveys, cashback and receipts! It'll all add up in no time at all
Glad Debenhams were understanding of your situation, just shows that some companies still do have a heart. It's not often you come across them willing to do anything outside 'the rules'. An extra £50 in your pocket is nice.Sealed Pot Challenge 075
