Hi tea, thank you lovely good to be back. It's been horrendous and pain still out of control.....at least the debt is being controlled!
Money wise we're st that awkward part of the month when still have direct debit for rental to go out abd income to come in. Account looks empty.
I'm chuffed with my pay all debt off challenge though and with regular loan payments, minimum credit card and done over payments I've paid off £1118.25 / £7500 target.
Have checked with hubby and next month his employer are only taking £182. So relieved when this is going and I think we'll feel like millionaires when he brings gone his normal wage. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Great news on the tax return and clearing off all those things that were hanging over your head
You're going great guns on the debt challenge too! 15% paid already so you're ahead of target.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Afternoon CG. Sorry to hear you're still in a lot of pain.
The figures and the % provided by HG both look good - might have to ask her to do mine, I'm rubbish at stuff like that :rotfl:
Hubby's money will make such a difference to you when it's all sorted. You really will feel like you've won the lottery. :T
Hope you're managing to get some rest. Have a lovely afternoon. xx0 -
Thanks homegrown I always forget to look at the %, but not sure why. Seeing it as a % is definitely more motivating. Will keep doing it.
Hi tea, yep the extra money will be amazing. It's been a struggle that's for sure. It's certainly given me the kick up the bum to sort out finances though as we used to blow so much with nothing to show for it.
Today is a rubbish inbetween day waiting g for rent moving to hit account so my joint account available balance is £13.30. It's a great reminder that we need to increase our EF so have enough to cover the voids. When house has been empty we've always squeezed budget as both earning normal amount.
Surveys picking up nicely though at last and I'm giving shoppix a whirl too (thanks for inspiration tea)
Today was NSD #1 for feb! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Evening CG
Shoppix is definitely worth doing. It's a little bit different from RH, I don't think you can upload more than one receipt with the same date on for example, but I like the bonus 5 points for doing it on the day. Think you only get a week to upload as well. But I'm still finding my way around so don't quote me on that.
The surveys on PA are rubbish for me at the moment. Even the pending money isn't clearing quickly. Well done on your first NSD of the month. :T
Hope you've not been in as much pain today. xx0 -
Motning tea,
Pain still horrendous but under control. Will be pleased once it's all over.
I've uploaded a couple of receipts on shoppix but they're still showing as pending. I though I might as well give it a try!
Bank account empty will £5.49 available after a life insurance policy dd was collected today. The payment should arrive tomorrow to get us through the rest of the month.
Today is #2 nsd of feb as fridge /freezer/ cupboard looking really healthy.
My surveys adding up
1poll - £8.80 (£25 min pay out)
Pa - £7 cleared / £6.49 pending
All surveys, Quidco cashback and selling stuff is going to my sealed pot challenge. I have a tin in the house which is filling up nicely but not sure how much is in there. I also have a separate bank account so I can transfer payments to instead of trying to get small oddments out of the bank. The account currently has £88.34. This combined total is our Christmas 2019 fund. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Sorry to hear you're still in a lot of pain CG. I suppose the silver lining is every day should get a little better.
Shoppix do take a while to clear but worth doing. It's like having double dips using them and RH.
Your Christmas fund should grow nicely over the year, I'm definitely glad I've started one. Once the theatre tickets are paid for I think I will up the savings to my Christmas pot.
Have a good day and take things easy. xx0 -
I only started shoppix yesterday with receipts my youngest had saved / found sbd have 420 points already. It definitely seems to grow quicker, just need to find the number you need for a payout.
The pain should stop in a couple of weeks, so I'm just crossing the days off until then. I've slept most of the day as still playing catch up after no sleep in hospital fir 2 weeks. Day by day though I'm getting stronger.
The loan totals have updated so outstanding debt currently stands at :
Zopa 1 £8492.44
Zopa 2 £3592.88
0% cc £3000
Total debt £15085.32
It feels good seeing it come down abd the extra £320 from my tax return has got the cc to the nice Roy d 3k. Can't wait to get the total into the 14s but I know it won't be until next month. All payments are being concentrated on cc to get it cleared before 0% finishes on 1/12/19.
I'm still ploughing ahead with my sealed pot challenge and keeping that cash separate. I know if I use it to pay Cc I won't save anything for Christmas. Arrrghhj I just wish I could get back to work so I'm off £340 a month sick pay. When I do go back I'm going to blitz the card as quick as I can. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
It's 3200 you need for a payout on shoppix. It always seems so far away but it mounts up really quickly I find! Plus, the more reciepts you upload, the more little surveys you get for those brands and similar things, plus you then get scratchcards as rewards so I think it works great. I much prefer it to RH.
It must be tough going living on the sick pay, it's not a lot at all is it? Hope you're managing to rest. The time for going back to work and blitzing the debt will come. Keep up the good work on the sealed pot too. I'm working on my sealed pot and the itch to crack it open and see how much is in there is unbearable already! haha Must take a deep breath and leave it aloneSealed Pot Challenge 075
Pay off by Xmas 2019 #02 - target £10,0000 -
Thanks HG, it's certainly been a wake up call in sick pay. I've lost around £450 a month but added to hubby repaying the overpayment has been a killer. It's just a blip but I think if I can keep on track whilst we're this skint the debt will disappear once everything back to normal.
I'm with you on the temptation of opening the pot! It's hard not to! I do have the account which I put the bank transfer payments in, so do get half a fix knowing that total. It's cheating but easier than trying to get random small amounts out the bank. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230
