Thanks tea, you're right. I've got to stop looking st the negatives and focus on the positives. I'm just a control freak and need to be on top of everything. Hubby has loaded freezer up with definitely 'boy' food. Indian starters, (curry jars in cupboard) ready made pies, sausages, stewing stake, mince etc. The trouble is I can't see the fresh/frozen veg to make it into a meal:rotfl: perhaps you just don't need veg!
I'm not complaining he's held everything together amazing well and I'm so proud how well he's coped. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
I've had a bad day abd it's been a morphine haze in bed. I need to check out the state of the joint account.
The repayments have gone out on the loans and credit cards, so I can total up our outstanding debt.
Zopa 1 - £8295.14
Zopa 2 - £3493.08
Cc - £2900.00
Total - £14688.22
It's slowly coming down, wish it was quicker! Life keeps getting into the way! My car needs it's first not this month. At least all the kid's activities/ expenses are all upto date. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Sorry you had a bad day Choccy- I hope you're a bit better today.
The numbers are coming down nicelySealed Pot Challenge 075
Pay off by Xmas 2019 #02 - target £10,0000 -
Thanks homegrown, every day is a bad day at the minute x It's strange how I can share that with the world on here, but in the real world I say I'm plodding on.
Numbers are slowly coming down at last and we've not used OD or CC in months now. It's been so long I can't remember the last time.
I do need to get on my budget spreadsheet but my mobility issues are stopping me st the minute.
Looking st joint account it's a big ouchie!
Available balance £431.87
That's all our direct debits gone until the CC payment £100 goes out on the 29th March. This month's child benefit due on 26th and my sick pay (£340approx) on 27th normally this would pay the CC.
I'd love to stretch the joint account and leave the £100 for the CC out of the £431.87.
So my plan - £331.87 for 21 days, 3 x big food shops, hubbies fuel and any other niff naff needed. Will need to keep my hubby out the shops as his just nipping for bread end up costing £20! I'm
Going to 'hide' the £100 in another account to try and keep our focus! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Your hubby sounds just like mine with food and although he loves veg would definitely not buy any and prepare it for himself or the DC's. :rotfl: Credit where credit's due with your hubby, he sounds to be doing a brilliant job of keeping things together.
The numbers are coming down and that's the main thing. With everything you've been dealing with it could easily have all gone to pot but it hasn't. And hopefully as you get better and back to work, things will start to move quicker for you.
Is the pain getting any better yet or do you feel it's just the same? I've no idea why we say we're fine to people in real life when we're not, but I think we all do it. I hold back with my family because rightly or wrongly, I feel that if I bare my soul during bad times, it would never actually get forgotten even when things are much better. Don't even know if that makes sense but you might get what I mean. xx0 -
I've been reducing my pain meds, perhaps a little quicker than I should in the hope to feel more human. It's s fine line of being normal or stoned. The pain is bearable so that's a bonus.
Hubby has been spending like a mad man. Trip to Aldi, trip to Morrison's, trip to Aldi and I'm looking in fridge and it's empty. I need to get using up the feeezer stocks and making the most of our full veg rack.
Today will be a NSD I think first of March. He did withdraw £30 out fir the cleaner next week. Joint account is looking desperate already.
3 weeks until pay day abc our available balance is £195.40!
Eldest needs 3 x science books £33 so think they'll have to wait until pay day! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Hi CG, glad to hear the pain is bearable and you're not feeling as stoned
Text books are really expensive aren't they. Is it something you might find on Ebay or a book site.
If that were my hubby the fridge would also be empty but we'd be ankle deep in chocolate biscuits
Have a lovely weekend. xx0 -

Hope you're enjoying the time with your Dad CG and are coping on the pain front.
I'm over the 1,000 barrier with RH and have cashed out my first £5 with Shoppix which came through really quickly.
You'll get back in your routine with the shopping, in the meantime, like you say it's all boosting the virtual coins:rotfl:
Have a lovely day. xx0
