Thanks INOD, luckily it was a little cooler with a nice breeze so not as bad as it could have been.

Ok so I've had a look at the budgets and my plan to cover the stupidly high electricity bill is as follows
    - £200 already saved
    - £96 from car fund and emergency fund (the other £40 in the emergency fund is for my haircut on Friday, did think about cancelling but I've been putting it off for months)
    - £50 from holiday (paid it to my sister for holiday accommodation but spoke to her and she doesn't mind waiting so she transferred it back)
    - £50 from OH
    - £10 from social budget (still leaves £40 to cover 2 meals out)
    - £25 from food budget
    - £10 from petrol budget

Will need to be really careful with budgets for the rest of the month and try and get as many NSDs as possible. No spends today :D. Meal plan is up until Friday and shouldn't need to buy anything before then except milk and some fruit.

Paid the electricity bill today, bank accounts now look very sad :( but at least it's done. A NSD other than that :). Paid £1.21 to the debt.

Tomorrow will be a spend day as I need petrol and have a meal out with friends planned.

Very quick post before bed. Got my haircut on Friday - £40, looks and feels a million times better :). NSD yesterday. Today I spent £34.48 in the supermarket, £5 on items for the food bank collection, so all stocked up again. Trying to eat healthily so lots of fruit and veg plus some great ys bargains. I also ordered some moisturiser which was £20 :o. Can't really afford it right now but I'm about to run out and it's the only moisturiser I've used that doesn't make my face feel really oily so didn't want to just buy a cheap one. Used a 20% discount code and it will last at least 6 months. I have also made a £3.50 payment to the debt. On a double shift tomorrow so best get to bed.

Busy day yesterday but a really productive one so think I'll try to escape early today. It was a NSD and I paid £2.21 to the debt. The initial car debt is now under £500 :T

    Thanks monz :D

Not much to report from today, I did manage to escape work early which was good. Spent some time pottering about the garden and also washed the car. It's been a NSD :) tomorrow definitely won't be as I need to buy a father's day card and also get some milk.

Oops haven't posted for a wee while and unfortunately have been spending heaps. Just worked out that I have £87.15 left for the rest of the month after the direct debits are covered. Have a meal out with friends tomorrow planned but it will be fairly cheap as the place we're going is 2 courses for £10.95. I'll also need to put some more petrol in the car at some point and obviously buy food as well.

I've totally lost track of food spends plus had unplanned spends on coffee during 2 training days and going out last night - went round to my friends for wine and a catchup, ended up going out :o alcohol and budgets do not mix.

Away to do an inventory of what food we have in and make a meal plan. Back later.

Made a meal plan for the week, it's quite repetitive as there's lots of gammon in the freezer. Will need to get a few things which I'll do tomorrow but shouldn't spend more than £10.

  • Love gammon. DH makes a mushroom risotto to which we add gammon when we have it. Amazing.
