Hi all,
PositiveBalance, safari is in November!
Things have been very busy and life has got in the way. I got into decluttering the house in a big way. A lot has gone or in the process of going. Raising a lot of money but more importantly letting go of destructive thoughts and principles I've held for many years. I've not been a hoarder in the sense of not being able to walk around without tripping over something but I inherited the "can never have enough" trait which led to collecting various items and struggling to let go. After the last time I posted I woke up a few days after and told Mrs. K. I really don't need to be hanging onto a lot of the things I had collected over the years.
Still enjoying my job and working full time has meant its been a slow process to declutter. Not had an awful lot of time with my son over this holiday but he's enjoying being at my cousin's during the daytime and I always make time to go for a 1-2 hour walk with him each evening.Going to miss that when he becomes a grumpy teenager who can think of better things to do than going for a walk with the dogs and I. :rotfl:
Was speaking to my father today and it reminded me of how being on here has really helped changed my point of view over the years. Really grateful for that.My parents wouldn't be pleased with their lot unless they happened to be the richest people in the world. Father had a medical professional visit the other week who complimented my parents on their house and he bitterly responded by telling her there are houses worth more in the county.

Sounds like a great positive post, it's a good feeling to get into a more contented 'enough' mentality which cannot be forced but happens at its own pace as we get older i feel. I'm sorry that your parents have never got to that stage however I'm glad that it would appear that their negativity didn't immediately rub off on you and bring you down. Sounds like you can view them a little more objectively than you have been able to in the past which is great: love them but know you are your own person.
Lovely to read

NG: the money has finished the kitchen and I!!!8217;ve bought myself a work car - didn!!!8217;t have a comfortable car in the fleet apart from the Daimler and I!!!8217;m loathed to park that where it will receive too much attention, so I!!!8217;ve bought myself a BMW 3 series... yes, yes I know but it is a good little car. :rotfl:
Daisy: I am trying...weather has been glorious which has probably helped. Don!!!8217;t need money to enjoy the sun!

NG: yes, we have been very busy. Cleared a lot of items I collected over the years, quite embarrassing how much we made because a lot of it I bought for the sake of owning through allowing myself to become far too attached to the idea of having rather than enjoying. Also sold one of our old cars and may sell another before the end of the summer. Will still be enjoying the rest but the fleet has got rather too big over the past few years.
Tootallulah: time does seem to move very quickly. My son is going to be 8 in November, entering year 3 in September. He is growing up quickly it seems to me but not quickly enough for his liking. :rotfl:
In other news, I!!!8217;m going to try to make some targets for August. Keeping on track is good for me and I!!!8217;ve missed the motivational aspect of being on here.
