Welcome back basketcase :T sorry RL has been a bit beastlybut am very pleased you are on the mend :T Love the ‘swallowing frogs’ :rotfl: did you weigh them before swallowing :rotfl: I hope you have given your car a good talking to and hopefully no more decluttering money
Today was a lovely warm to hot day and still no rain
Today DH was a busy bee again :rotfl: The shed site is now flat after more raking :T so he re-laid the weed suppressant & True Pave :rotfl: Measured out the area for the concrete slabs to be laid when the gravelling is completed. Then DH & DSis started putting the gravel on the True Pave - 6 sacks but not even half the True Pave filled - I think they underestimated just a wee bit :rotfl:
Still no big decluttering projects as it is way too warm but I am keeping up on the day to day tidying
In keeping with my three mantras - Today - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along including the last lot of washing up :rotfl:; sugar bowl, coffee & tea bag jars all refilled; washed down kitchen work surfaces; went shopping, got back & put everything away including bagging up 2 lots of pork loin steaks for the freezer; indoor bins emptied; cooked pork loin steaks, mash, broccoli & green beans for dinner tonight - delish - I only had a small portion of mash & added some salad to my plate :rotfl:; vacuumed downstairs (incl moving furniture) including kitchen floor; filled bird & squirrel water bowls; deadheaded & watered my plants incl. living lettuce & the rosemary plants I treated myself to
; soaked the towel covering the wormery to stop the worms getting overheated - considerate eh :rotfl:; general tidying;
Also DB phoned so had a lovely chat with him & happy that he has a couple of weeks work :T:T
The day to day decluttering has generated

Hi all. and well done on the totals.
Decluttering proceeds slowly, although I have a pile of stuff waiting by the door that hasn’t been recorded yet. I’m going to take it to the CS on Wednesday and will book it in then.
Getting up at 6.30 and Sleep Cleaning is definitely the way forward for me. It means that the S&S plus ones in the kitchen (inc putting away last night’s washing up) and bathroom are both done while breakfast is being prepared/tea’s brewing etc. So I really don’t notice I’ve done them. I managed a pile of other stuff too – some planned, some not.
SWISH n SWIPE BATHROOM & KITCHEN
PLUS ONES - BATHROOM: Empty/wash/disinfect bin & clean shelves near sink/scales etc
KITCHEN: Empty/wash/disinfect swing bin. Also washing up put away and floor swept.
OTHER THINGS
Beds stripped and remade; bedding washed and hung.
Dusting done.
Carpets hoovered in all rooms, inc moving furniture
I haven’t so much decluttered today as ‘pre-decluttered!’ In addition to the pile of stuff waiting to go that I’ve already mentioned, I’ve had a go at my clothing rack. I noticed (finally!) that all my winter woollies are hung up there, gathering dust. So I’ve stuck them all to wash then they’ll be vacuum packed and put away. All this stuff will be weighed in later this week. All I’ve actually got to add just now is a fair bit of recycling.
MRS SD – Unfortunately, I forgot to weigh the frogs. They were really fat ones too...
I think the car’s at the ‘beginning to cost money’ stage. Was hoping to pass it on to DD (DS doesn’t drive), but may declutter it in a few months and get a new (to me) one. Ooh! If I do, please may I add the weight to my total?! :jPretty please... :rotfl:
Totals
Day’s Total 3.5lbs
Running total 1483lbs
Happy decluttering, everybody!A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Hi everyone
is it ok if I join in with you all? I've been trying to declutter from the start if the year, was doing really well up until May then I came To a standstill. I'm wanting to get rid of as much as possible as I really don't need half this stuff or more, but I need to get out if the mindset of it might come in handy.
Since coming home from holiday last week I've started doing the 30 bags in 30 days challenge which I came across last year on YouTube, the girl who done it on there has started a new one this year and so far I've gotten rid of 2 black bags, a box and 5 plastic bags of donations or rubbish/recycling so I'm hoping to continue that also.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
Hi IrishRose
I've been up since Stupid o' clock this morning, so let me be the first to welcome you. There's always room for one more. It sounds as if you've done a fair bit on your own, but this thread's a great inspiration - especially if you lose your oomph.
Going to do some Sleep Cleaning, knock on DS's door as a back-up to his alarm then go back to bed for an hour or 2.
BTW, what's the Rule of 3?A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

:hello: IrishRose, what a beautiful name
The more the merrier :rotfl: You have made a great start - every item out is a weight lifted :T
I admire you taking on the 30 bags in 30 days challenge - I don’t think I would have the discipline to tackle that one :rotfl: The people on here are wonderful - if you ever flag someone is always ready with a kind word, practical advice, pearls of wisdom or just relating what has or hasn’t worked for themWe are a friendly & sometimes funny bunch :rotfl:
villagelife & ocean spirit, :T ticking along nicely :T
basketcase, I love that you sleep clean :rotfl: whatever works for you :rotfl: I am really looking forward to seeing your totals re your pre-decluttering - they will shoot up :T
Almost 1500 lbs= 31 x 22kg sacks of gravel :rotfl:
When you swap out your car perhaps you can get a slightly smaller one & nett off the weights :rotfl:
Yesterday was hot, hot, hot and not helped by the fact that the three of us had to get across London on the Central Line  We decluttered a fair bit of ‘money’ between us - dentist, pub & then out to eat  but no actual decluttering
Today started off hot & sunny but became hot & cloudy & we have just had 30 seconds of rain :T but now the sun is burning off the clouds
DH & DSis bought more gravel & picked up some tester paint pots for the new shed. DH & DSis have laid the gravel & are just letting it settle before adding the concrete slabs. Now we just need the shed :rotfl: DSis has also done a load in the wm & it is now pegged out - it shouldn’t take too long to dry.
Today I had my appointment with the HCA & was pleased to learn that I actually have decluttered some weight :T & it was not just my imagination :rotfl: Have an appointment to discuss the results of the blood test & what I can do to lose at least another 10-15kg
Still no big decluttering projects as it is still way too hot but I am keeping up on the day to day tidying
In keeping with my three mantras - Over the last two days I have - aired & made bed x 2; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along including the last lot of washing up :rotfl: washed down kitchen work surfaces; went shopping, got back & put everything away; portioned up bread products & put in freezer; indoor bins emptied x 2; filled bird & squirrel water bowls x 2; deadheaded & watered my plants incl. living lettuce & the rosemary plants x 2; soaked the towel covering the wormery x 2; general tidying;
The day to day decluttering has generated

B1732 - B1741 Three tin cans, 3 plastic milk cartons, 3 plastic bottles, glass bottle - rinsed & recycled
