  • 1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY

    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)

    3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED

Bit by bit, edwink, villagelife, marmiterulesok & rootle - well done on keeping up the momentum :T

We have had quite a bit of rain Friday, Saturday & Sunday & lots of strong winds - garden is happy but I missed the Blood Moon/Lunar Eclipse which I had been looking forward to :( & the rain didn’t persuade me to do any indoor decluttering projects :o
Today DSis is happy because there is a breeze & it is a lot cooler :rotfl:

DH & DSis went shopping on Saturday and actually stuck completely to my list :T wonders will never cease :rotfl: Today they have both had a bath & DH is currently working on his motorbike. The part for the vacuum cleaner arrived & DH did the repairs so I now have a fully functioning vac. :T
DSis has done the washing up the last two nights but has left it to me to put everything away - so my cupboards are still arranged as I like them :rotfl: She has also done a load in the wm & the load is currently line drying.

    No decluttering projects but in keeping with my three mantras - Over the last three days I have - aired & made bed x 3; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along including the last lot of washing up x 3:rotfl:; washed down kitchen work surfaces x 3; indoor bins emptied x 3; swept kitchen floor x 3; refilled sugar bowl; tightened loo flush handle; Friday I made a Focaccia and a coconut & cherry loaf as well as darning a pair of DH’s socks & putting in a new battery in the wall clock; general tidying;

The day to day decluttering has generated

B1795 - B1804 Non recyclable - 3 plastic pots & lids, plastic tray & packaging, 4 plastic bags, plastic packaging, uu plastic spray bottle - All binned
B1805 - B1814 Three tin cans, 4 plastic milk cartons, glass bottle, plastic pot & lid, plastic bottle - rinsed & recycled
B1815 - B1834 Toilet roll inner, 4 newspapers, 4 lots of cardboard packaging, 3 lots of paper packaging, 2 lots of Booklets/leaflets, completed Sudoku book, uu notebook, 2 cardboard boxes dismantled, 2 magazines - Recycled

    So, onwards & outwards

Mrs SD - You're staying so positive. I wish I could abide by your mantras too :(. Maybe I need to print them out and stick them up (although that would look like more clutter again ;) ).

Well done and welcome Happy Kitties. I have bought stuff in (wool for a project for my Mil)) and some christmas stuff I bought from Poundland as it closed down. I know I know.

I used to buy all the time when it was that time of month. This week I have been eating badly, which was another sign. This is not supposed to happen now I am on the menopause.

Anyway, now I realise what I am doing I am keeping an eye on my triggers, keeping off the grub and away from the shops. I didn't go and spend 6 pounds of free M&S vouchers the other day but I knew I would spend much more on stuff I didn't want or need so I consider it a win.:o

Right off to bed. Tiredness is another trigger and seeing as I had about 4 hours sleep last night (aways like this on Sunday- pre Monday nerves) am off to the bed and the land of nod I hope.

Thank you bitbybit I read it previous post about u being a chief list maker. I put my hand up I love a good list.
I have a birthday book and Christmas book that I keep my lists in for presents. Just feel it makes my life a lot easier and I can keep track of my spends and savings

    Today I have

*6 sent off an item DD bought for me in the sales to use as a potential present for someone but I could
think of no one. So it went in a charity auction and now sent
*7 cardboard box now gone to send the above
*8 some packaging used up,to send the above
*9 I was sent a large package of pens. These have been split up to give to the volunteers of a club I'm
    involved in
*10 recycle calender that has just been lying around

I think my mantra is going to be #gettingthereslowly!

Thanks Happy Kitties. I was so lacksidasical in the old days but found chaos just added to the stress. Having some control seems to make life easier lke you say, plus I know where I am at or where things are if an emergency occurs.

It has paid off over the years as I have saved loads of money by being able to put my hand on receipts or planned ahead so I spend less. I have just started my Christmas shopping, managed to buy a few jewellery items and a book at sale prices for family. I don't buy a lot but I do like to get little gifts that are going to be used. Been buying in July for years now. I even put them away so they don't get lost.

Bit by bit was many mantra and now it is my name :D Good luck with the continuing clearout.

Hi villagelife. I have great satisfaction when I use free samples up. Shame they are often so plastic heavy. I have stopped collecting them now and just buy bigger bottles of tstuff for the family, decanting for travel. I am using up body lotion as hair conditioner at the moment.

One cupboard emptied cleaned reorganised and decluttered in the kitchen. Washed the trays etc that haven't been used in years but they stay there for the very few parties, or wakes we have.

Also cleared another shelf in the bedroom of items to be donated, so that's another 2 carrier bags gone today. The rate I'm going I'll have doubled the 2018 target I set myself and broke in June lol.

Unclutterd_unicorn, Villagelife, Happy Kitties, IrishRose - well done on your decluttering :T

bit by bit, love it - mantra to name:rotfl: Managed to cross off ‘phone calls to be made to financial institutions’ from my list today - two of them were from January  I kept putting them off as I thought there would be problems but guess what - no problems other than the awful music whilst I was waiting to speak to a person :rotfl:

Today was a dry day (after rain overnight) with some sunshine & warmth and a lot less breezy :)

DSis has kept to her room for most of the watching her new box set of the 5 series of Person of Interest. DH has been continuing with his office decluttering plus he cooked dinner tonight & I had a relaxing bath, visited the surgery for a chat about my blood test results & did a very small but expensive shop in MrT - won’t be going back there any time this century

basketcase & retiredinfrance - I miss you both ;) I hope RL is not being a pain?

My decluttering mojo has left the building  not helped by the fact that the cs still have no working van  However as I read everyone’s posts the mojo is stirring - I need to pick a project of some sort :rotfl

    So just my three mantras - aired & made bed, washed up, dried up & put away as I went along including the last lot of washing up; washed down kitchen work surfaces; indoor bins emptied & wheelie bin put out for collection; refilled sugar bowl x 2 (I think my DSis is having sugar sandwiches :rotfl:); coffee & teabag jars refilled; stainless steel handles & appliances wiped down with appropriate wipes :rotfl:; personal paperwork shredded; phone calls made; general tidying;

The day to day decluttering has generated

B1835 Non recyclable - plastic tray & packaging binned
B1836 - B1842 Three tin cans, 2 plastic milk cartons, Plastic pot, plastic bottle - rinsed & recycled
B1843 - B1850 Two newspapers, 4 lots of cardboard packaging, plastic packaging, Junk mail - Recycled
B1851 Personal paperwork shredded & binned

Please, please send my decluttering mojo back :rotfl:
