More books in the book bag weeded out. Liking doing this every day.
In line with the Mantra, tidying as I go, asking myself if I need to take something up or down stairs, recycle or bin etc. Some hot spots are looking clearer already. Also put a load of washing away that would usually have sat around. and emptied the downstairs bins when I thought to do it.
Big win today: DS2 had all his stuff stacked up in bags and cases. He moved back in a year ago but these were stored temporarily in a van he had bought. Well the van has now gone and the bags have all been sorted through, decisions made re what to keep. Some of it (not a lot) will go in the loft, some to the CS, a big pile of washing but the rest has been put away.:T
I am well chuffed.
Another few bags of cardboard tubes and plastic bottles has gone to the Allotment. Boy do we get through the loo roll.
We have a long way to go but slowly winning.:)Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. bit by bit, and so you should be :T I am very impressed :T Any chance DS2 will do his own washing :rotfl:
Unfortunately I have to add number 3- although I do the washing up as & when all through the day, the last lot of washing up is nearly always left on the drainer overnight & greets me in the morning :eek: so as above
Today DH did nothing except put a couple of concrete paving slabs on the inch wide, three foot long strip of uneven True Pave & DSis did nothing except have a bath as she could barely move after the exertions of the last two days
I on the other hand having foregone any manual labour actually did some housework :rotfl:
In keeping with my two (now three :rotfl:) mantras - Today - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along including the last lot of washing up :rotfl:; filled birds water bowls; sugar bowl, sugar, coffee & tea bags jars all refilled; washed down kitchen work surfaces; washed down & dried all kitchen cupboards & drawers fronts & sides; washed down kitchen tiles & splash back; swept then vacuumed kitchen floor; vacuumed downstairs and actually emptied the vacuum :rotfl:; vacuumed & rotated sofa cushions; did two loads of washing which line dried, folded & will be put away when I go to bed; emptied indoor bins; wrote cards & cheques for 2nd cousins (financial planning so tax man will get as little as possible when I depart this mortal coil :rotfl:); emptied & sorted out the large storage footstool; made dinner for DH & I - tuna salad for me & ham salad for DH. DSis had a couple of slices of toast with butter; general tidying;

Hello, is anybody there?
Slightly cooler day, lots of cloud but still no rain :eek:
Today DH was a busy bee :rotfl: He lifted the True Pave & weed suppressant and raked over the shed site again in an attempt to level out the bump. The bump is a lot smaller now, so he put back the weed suppressant & True Pave & piled on the concrete slabs & sacks of gravel :rotfl: He also filled the bird & squirrel feeders & watered my flowers/plants. He won’t be doing anything tomorrow as the three of us are off to my cousin’s place for a barbecue :T
DSis managed to get herself moving today so went out for a few hours. She managed to find a hairdressers where you can just turn up & wait to be seen. She had a wash, cut & blow dry & was very pleased that her hairdresser was Male & Greek :rotfl:. She doesn’t like hairdressers who, in her words ‘faff about’ :rotfl: she just wants to be in & out as quickly as possible :rotfl: By the way her hair looks very niceShe also did a bit of shopping & managed to sell a few DVDs :T
No big decluttering for me todayjust baking and cooking & restocking my freezer
In keeping with my three mantras - Today - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along including the last lot of washing up :rotfl:; sugar bowl refilled; washed down kitchen work surfaces; tightened toilet flush handle; baked a Focaccia for my cousin & while the dough was proving made a batch of choc chip biccies & a batch of coconut biccies - I know, I know not very good for my diet :rotfl:; went shopping, got back & put everything away; indoor bins emptied; cooked a Bolognese sauce with rigatoni for dinner (it was delish unlike my last batch :rotfl:) - I had a small portion with lo salad whereas DH & DSis both had large portions & secondsThe lo sauce was boxed & put in freezer + two boxes of mince & a box of pre-chopped onion & garlic with slices of mushroom also put in freezer; general tidying;

I see you are busy as usual Mrs SD. Its a great feeling you get when these small but necessary things are done and you can look on your efforts with pride. Makes me smile when I have done something that requires a lor of effort. especially when I have been putting it off because of the size of the job.
I feel it is like a massive weight off my shoulders. Mentally it frees me up to do soe things I want to do, like crafts or writing.
Continuing with gusto. Last night I had another go with DS2's room. It is also my writing/craft room. I have moved my sewing table round to give him more room and the place looks a lot tidier. More stuff has gone to the shed and, piled for washing and redistributing and the CS bag. There is still a lot to do but I can see the end nearly in sight. Going to do another 10 or 15 mins today.
A bag of setting up a business books went to DiL last night as that is what she wants to do.
5 bags of ash are in the car to go over for redistributioon over the allotment.
Very pleased with all of this activity.
Now heading over the allotment before it gets too hot. Since being up I have done four or five quick jobs - emptying the dishwasher and reloading (not very good at night Mrs SD). Empty and reload the washing machine, hung a basket of stuff on the line and sorted and folded a load of clothes be put away. Can't do that as weveryone is still in bed.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Hello I'm here :wave: :kisses3:
No rain here either and the garden desperately needs some :eek: All 20 water butts are now completely empty. Still have around 500ltrs of rain and shower/bath water in the loo flushing tanks out of a capacity of 2000ltrs. If worst comes to the worst we can switch over to mains water for loo flushing if needed but we would prefer not to
. Can't have our metered water bill going over £100 for the year can we??:D Having quick showers in this hot weather should keep topping up the tanks most days
.
Not much decluttering here as busy out with the hens and ducks doing bits and bobs that need doing until it is too hot to stay out there.

Back at last!! I still have to catch up on the thread but I'm impressed by what I've read so far. Hello and welcome to all newcomers - good luck with the decluttering. It gets addictive. I sympathise with the loss of mojo. The weather's been far too nice to spend it indoors decluttering. But don't worry, it's bound to rain soon... :rotfl:
Mrs SD - Many thanks for your concern. How good of you to think of me. Sorry to be missing for so long. I got a bit swamped by life and recovering from the ankle.
Briefly, I was sorting out DD's wisdom tooth problem etc for a while, plus 'hobbling through treacle' in my daily life. I've been soooooooo tired that I was sometimes sleeping almost 20 hours a day. It's how I heal, so I wasn't really concerned. But it doesn't half put a crimp in life in general and decluttering in particular.
I managed to swallow a couple of giant frogs - passport renewal and sorting out my pension - and eventually dried my tears at the amount of cash that my car's decluttered recently... :eek:
Clutterwise, I've mostly been consolidating, as energy allows. The 'sleep cleaning' has continued, so my bathroom and kitchen are looking pretty good. I haven't completely abandoned decluttering. I've done all my dressers drawers in my bedroom and all 3of the junk drawers in my kitchen. Lots of work and stuff moved, but very little weight. Odd earrings etc only came to about 1 oz
. (Maybe I should have left them until I'd reached the target weight and started counting items! :rotfl:)
I won't bore you all with the details, but I've decluttered loads of odd things from odd earrings, through orphan socks to a Brita jug and a load of vinegar! There's been huge amounts of (depressingly light) recycling, but I've also repurposed, donated and dumped!
