Crumbs, I haven't posted since 10th Sept!!!. So sorry, I haven't read the last few pages yet - hope you are all well.
Well, started new job and absolutely love it - but extra hours and new type of work and training has meant that I am pretty tired. OH also decided that my first week at work was also the time to crack on with the redecorating (wish we had a 'rolling eye' smiley) as if there wasn't enough happening.
Never mind - we are still clearing out.
1957 - plastic case plus sewing detritus
1958 - plastic x-stitch boards plus patterns
1959 - Shorts (ragbags)
Into the Swinging Sixties (and the decade of my birth)..

1994 Face-mist (uu bin)
1995 Scratch Art pack (cs)
1996 Glass trinket box (cs)
1997 Box and polystyrene (bin)
1998 Broken earphones (electronic recycling)
(Partying like its)1999 - Mattress. This was the start of actually clearing out our bedroom for redecorating. Lots of stuff went out which hasn't been counted such as carpeting, mirror, pictures and bags of wallpaper. I'm also a bit annoyed as I felt so overwhelmed that we didn't really dispose of things responsibly and properly i.e. everything went into refuse skip and on to landfill instead of sorting to CS or EBay. Still, it's done now and can't be helped. New items are being chosen carefully and will hopefully do us for a long time. Also husband has been persuaded not to throw out perfectly good (although a little puppy-chewed) furniture and it's all been repainted and looks great!!
The Millenium 2000 Dog toy (broken)
2001 Net curtains and rail
2002 Old diary
2003 to 2006 4 stuffed toys (cs)
2007 to 2011 5 books (cs)
2012 small tin (recycled)
2013 Body spray (uu)
2014 to 2018 Cookbooks (cs)
Woohoo :j:j:j:j:j:j
(The above challenge was completed by end September, so we started counting again - next post!! )0 -

Hello again my friends,I have been away from the forum for some time but I have been busy with life and have done some serious decluttering and can now state that my 365 total has been reached. What happened was I got too ambitious. I decided that the contents of a three drawer chest would be reduced to two full and one empty. That didn't work. All I got was a load of stuff on the spare room bed and I got demoralised. New approach worked. I started to put it all back in the original drawers but decluttering on the way. Success! I now have three tidy drawers with easy access. Anyway an empty drawer just asks for clutter.
353-4 two bags of paper, one to bin, other to recycle.
355-356 two fabric swatches to CS.
357-358two old tshirts (there for 4 yrs!) to CS.
359 -360 two forgotten presents-never sent -to CS.
361-362two unsed notebooks to gifts this Xmas.
363bag of wool scraps to CS.
364 small conifer in tub to CS we cant find a spot for it in the garden.
365 a crochet pram blanket to CS , which I made from spare wool and I am really pleased iwth that, so much so that I an going to use up my wool stash by doing more pram blankets.
Apart from being really pleased with my efforts, I have learned that starting small and working slowly and steadily works.
That I still have lots of clutter.
That my visits to CS bring in a lot of clutter and that I need to be more choosy.
Most importantly,
I could not have done it without your support on this forum and especially you, Mrs SaladDodger.
See you all soon as I will keep on decluttering . Many thanks to you all! Au revoir,as they say here.0 -
In case you were wondering, no, the wee conifer was on the patio, not in the chest!0

:T:T Well done retiredinfrance :T:T:T. I have really missed you & I hope that you will post once a week until the 2019 thread is startedHopefully Sa1sysoo will start the new thread - I am computer illiterate so don’t know how to start a new thread
Hopefully all our 2018 posters will rejoin - especially basketcase & edwink - even if it is just to report that they were successful in their decluttering :rotfl:
My decluttering has come to a complete standstill - still have crates/boxes in the dining room & the spare room - I am just about keeping up with the day to day tidying & housework & will start afresh in 2019- seem to have lost all my enthusiasm in the Christmas season
retiredinfrance, I think I will use your ‘empty all drawers & then put back whilst decluttering’
So I will love you & leave you until next week.
