  • More neutral items shipped out creating room in the kitchen.

    But I am claiming
*388 a tin of chicken and mushroom soup-donated to food bank. DD picked it up by accident, has been sat in savoury cupboard for ages and much as I love mushrooms just not in soup. Forgot to put it in the collection point straight away so was shopping thinking I hope they don't think I've pinched the soup but all was good and someone will get the benefit from it :)

    Still plodding on

    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)

    3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE DONE & PUT AWAY WITHIN AN HOUR OF FINISHING DINNER

Happy Kitties - every item out counts :T

Friday has been another dry day but again overcast & cold.
DH & I transferred the TV, DVD/VHS Player & Sk* Box from the coffee table to the new to me cabinet. DH had to enlarge the hole to get the wires through  All the wires/cables are hidden behind the cabinet. The bonus is that everything still works :rotfl: He also spent more time working on the motorbike - he is still adding the fog lights but it is proving more time consuming than he thought. He has to finish it off tomorrow:D

I was quite busy today :T:D

I have Washed the kitchen floor, Wiped down kitchen tiles, Cleaned kitchen window & external door + window frame cleaned, Washed the hall & cloakroom floors, vacuumed the whole of downstairs, oiled my chopping board, thoroughly disinfected my kitchen worktops, moved the dismantled dining room table out of the living room & polished the wooden coffee table which is now being used as a coffee table :rotfl: rather than a TV stand :rotfl: & fed the fox :rotfl:

Re my 3 mantras: bed aired & made; washing up done; coffee jar refilled; general tidying

So not a lot decluttered except for dust :rotfl: but a couple of rooms definitely tidier & cleaner :rotfl:

C1971 Non recyclable - plastic tray & packaging - Binned
C1972 - C1975 leaflets, cardboard packaging, cardboard box dismantled, magazine read - Recycled

    Happy decluttering :rotfl:

  • Wow MrsSD, I feel tired just reading what you’ve been up to! That is such good news about your DH’s eyes, I hope he enjoyed his fry up!

Thursday was a good decluttering day as 30 things went out the door, 1 to freegle and the rest to recycling. It was difficult, nostalgic clutter and I feel much lighter for it going.

OH got rid of a huge number of old cables. I was tempted to count them but they’re not my clutter. He still has a hige cable stash but it’s now half the size it was.

    204/630. Happy decluttering everyone.

Tboo - :T well done :T my iPad spell checked you as ‘too’ :rotfl: on my previous post :rotfl:

Saturday & Sunday have been dry :), overcast & getting colder :(

Saturday DH continued working on installing the fog lights on the motorbike. Unfortunately it is proving more troublesome than anticipated so DH is having to order a few more electrical connectors :(
I on the other hand had a ‘sofa day’ - never got dressed :rotfl:, paid the milkman, watched lots of telly & concocted a topping/filling for toast & sandwiches using a tin of salmon, chopped pepper, olives, capers, half a tin of sweetcorn held together with a dollop of mayonnaise & seasoned with pepper - all from stores :T Very tasty & got the seal of approval from DH :)

Sunday is already a better day :T I got dressed :rotfl:
DH & I have had a flurry of activity :D. DH has filled the bird & squirrel feeders, hung a new peanut feeder in the olive tree, replaced the battery in the smoke alarm & then used his height (6’2”) to assist me (5’6.5”) in moving or relocating items from the high kitchen shelves.
I found an unopened delivery box  guess what - it was the small Kilner jars that I had not unpacked as I had no storage space :rotfl: Meanwhile I have been umming & aahing over donating a rather nice almost complete tea service (which last saw use about 5 years ago :D) & as I wanted to put away the Kilner jars - decision made :rotfl: The CS will soon be in possession of a serving plate, 6 tea plates, 6 each of cups & saucers & a small milk jug. The empty delivery box containing the 12 x 0.25l Kilner jars was the perfect size for packing the cups, saucers & milk jug PLUS the bubble wrap & some bubble wrap from stores was perfect for the serving plate & tea plates. Problem solved :T The Kilner jars are now stored & the CS bag is almost full & will be delivered next week. I have also stripped the bed. First load washed & 2nd load in - will then tumble dry & remake bed.

Re my 3 mantras: bed aired & to be made; washing up done; sugar bowl refilled; general tidying

So, counting the tea service as separate items :rotfl:, numbers are as follows

C1976 - C1981 Non recyclable - 2 plastic trays & packaging, 2 lots of plastic packaging, empty plastic bird seed bag, small plastic bag of general detritus - Binned
C1982 - C1987 Plastic packaging, leaflets, 2 lots of cardboard packaging, cardboard box dismantled, magazine read - Recycled
    C1988 - C1994 Two milk cartons, 2 glass jars & lid, 3 tins & lids - rinsed & recycled
C1995 sturdy, medium sized cardboard box relocated to attic
C1996 - C2018 Serving plate, 6 tea plates, 6 saucers, 6 cups, small milk jug & packaging - cardboard box, 2 lots of bubble wrap - to CS
C2019 - C2029 Eleven Christmas cards from stash - have decided to give cards to all my neighbours rather than just the ones I know by name :D

Ta-da :rotfl: From now until the end of the year I will have a new numbering system - I will NOT be counting individual items :D Each day anything binned or recycled from food preparation or the kitchen will be counted as 1 + hopefully 3 extra items for the week - from anywhere else in the house. Target to the end of the year is 10 ‘items’ per week.

    Wish me luck :D

Wishing all my fellow declutterers success in one Last big push clearing clutter before the full ‘madness’ of Christmas :rotfl:

    Well done Happy Kitties :T

Weather is starting to take a turn for the worse - drizzly, chilly & windy
Tuesday I met an old friend & DH went to sm:D Wednesday DH & I went to Borough Market & spent shedloads :o Had something to eat - venison burger with cranberry sauce in a bun for me & wild meat sausages with salad in a baguette for DH. Absolutely delicious. We were going to go home but decided to try & find the pub that was purportedly shown in The Pickwick Papers TV programme. We found a ‘pub’ & spent a couple of hours drinking pints & chatting - making plans etc. Badly timed decision to go home during rush hour BUT we were lucky & the tube was not crowded :T:T. Only had to wait a few minutes for the bus for the 2nd bit of the journey :T

Re my 3 mantras: bed aired & to be made; washing up done; sugar bowl refilled; coffee jar refilled; general tidying

Target to the end of the year is 10 ‘items’ per week.

Week 1: Monday = 1, Tuesday = 1 + motorbike full of metal, cables, empty paint tins etc from garage; Wednesday = 1 + several delivery boxes broken down & recycled so Running Total = 5

    Happy decluttering :D
