2018 - No Clutter To Be Seen
Options
Comments
-
1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)
3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE DONE & PUT AWAY WITHIN AN HOUR OF FINISHING DINNER
DSis took DH shopping today. DH did a bit more garage tidying & checked the brakes on his motorbike. DSis has wrapped all her Christmas presents for her trip to France.
Today I have written a menu plan, visited the P.O. to post sewing machine manual to DH’s niece & buy postage stamps for all the Christmas cards, done a small sm shop, sorted some personal paperwork, finished writing my Christmas cards & cooked dinner - oven cooked pork loin steaks, boiled potatoes & cabbage - absolutely delicious  Have also peeled & cooked the apples for a crumble.
Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; washed up as per 3. above; filled sugar bowl; worktops washed down; general tidying
Numbers as follows:
C1757 - C1764 Non recyclable - 4 plastic bags, plastic packaging, plastic tray & packaging, plastic pot & lid, plastic tub & lid - binned

Keep up the good work my fellow declutterers :T

I know I'm late to the party but please may I join in. My house is FULL of CLUTTER so although I probabbly won't be able to get rid of 2018 by the end of this year I am going to have a really good try.
I started on the kitchen today (and also a quick sweep pf my bedroom this morning) and I've managed to get rid of 87 things already
Lots of old tubs where I can't find the lids, an old cookie cutter which was so out of shape I can't even remember what it was supposed to be, medicines which were out of date and so much more.
I even sold two sets of books I'd bought for my son as Christmas presents years ago and totally forgotten about. That netted me £13 towards my savings fund.
I've decided that every penny I raise selling my decluttered items I can put towards pretty decorations for our home (but not until it is fully decluttered - you never know what I might find to decorate with)
Total items decluttered 87/337 :j Decorating Fund £13 :TMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Welcome to the thread CraftingMad, what an amazing start. With 50 days to the end of the year we are going to be a lot better off than waiting till the New Year.
18 for me, as I can finally start sorting through all the books after decorating. 3 to recycling the rest to the charity shop.
Up to 162/630 gone now.
Happy decluttering everyone!0 -
PS Get well soon Edwink!0

Tackled the downstairs bathroom today and threw out lots of bits and bobs (including several empty shower gel, shampoo and conditioner bottles - got to love teenagers!). I actually lost count of how many items I got rid off but it was at least 15 so I'm declaring a further 15 items towards my total.
That takes me to 100 items decluttered in 2 days. I'm so proud of myself.
So totals so far are : Declutttered items 100/334 :T Decorating pot from selling decluttered items £13 :jMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020
