2018 - No Clutter To Be Seen

Wow - I know how to have a good time in the evening
.
- Last night, I sat for a-g-e-s - all the way through Vera - sorting through ALL the takeaway containers and lids .
- Made sure which ones had 'matching partners' - put them to one side - then put the remainder into the recycling ................... not sure if our local authority recycles that particular type of plastic, but I'll leave that up to them :undecided.
- I then had the task of 'dis-assembling' the matching containers/lids to make them easier to store :rotfl:.
Just how OCD can you get over plastic boxes and lids :embarasse!0 -
1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)
3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED
Marmiterules - more stuff out & for a good cause :T
Olliebeak - I have serious takeaway container envy :rotfl: I only needed 30 minutes to sort my supply outI will be using my entire supply to cure the olives from our olive tree
- I just hope I have enough
The weather Wednesday & Thursday was absolutely glorious- clear blue skies, plenty of sunshine & surprisingly warm for the end of October. Friday was cloudy, with occasional showers & definitely cooler although the sun did shine intermittently
So as the weather has been sooo nice - indoor decluttering has come to a standstillbut outdoor decluttering has been quite successful:T
I have worked on conquering a dislike - not a fan of climbing ladders but have spent nearly 3 hours (over 2 days) up a ladder pruning/thinning out our rather densely foliaged olive tree. I thoroughly enjoyed myself :rotfl: & DH was getting concerned that he would have nothing to do :rotfl: However I ‘allowed’ DH to go up the ladder to take out the extra tall branches :rotfl: DSis was in charge of the garden shredder. We were quite brutal  but now we can see the sky when looking up the trunk. So we have decluttered probably half the foliage/branches from the olive tree - all shredded & bagged for roadside collection next week. The other thing decluttered from the tree was a ‘Qu*lity Stre*t’ tin full of olives :T which I will be ‘curing’ over the next few weeks
Today, DH defined a flower bed by digging a trench & laying a row of bricks (using bricks we already had:T) This bed has also been composted.
The only things left to do in the back garden are hoeing & composting under the hedge & sifting the pile of soil dug up when laying the shed base.
Wednesday night DH & I had the hm vegetable soup with hm croutons & crusty bread & DSis had chicken goujons & chips. Thursday night was sausages, fried onions, mash, peas & gravy for the three of us. Friday night was savoury mince with mash - used up lots of bits like mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, mixed vegetables, double cream for the mash - for the 3 of us.
DH took Harley Davidson in for repair, had a haircut & a fried breakfast. DSis has had yet another hospital appointment & I went shopping, fed the water birds & did my usual litter picking ( only 40 bits :T)
Re my three mantras over the last 3 days: aired & made bed x 3; washed up frequently; worktops washed down frequently; filled teabags & coffee jars; made toilet roll pyramids :rotfl: ; paperwork; olive oil pourer refilled from can; vacuumed all downstairs; scrubbed toilets; general tidying
Numbers as follows:
C1483 - C1521 Non recyclable - 5 empty plastic compost bags, empty sand bag, 3 plastic trays & packaging, plastic tray, 17 plastic bags, 5 large plastic bags, used foil, plastic netting, plastic packaging, 4 plastic pots & lids - binned
C1522 - C1540 Two sets of Leaflets, 8 lots of cardboard packaging, 2 magazines, Paper packaging, newspaper, toilet roll tube, dismantled cardboard box, 3 booklets - recycled
C1541 - C1555 Five Milk cartons, 6 tin cans, 3 plastic bottles, tin can & metal lid - rinsed & recycled
Bit of knitting before bed
Keep up the good work my fellow declutterers :T

We're getting rid of everything in the loft because we're hoping to move next year. Can't believe how much stuff we have - even the local charity shops are now turning us away! So unfortunately the dump it is for most of it0

Not getting much done as getting bogged down by alot of birthdays this month.
However I've noticed that when starving student went back to uni she left alot of bits of toiletries, more than I thought so have been using them up so
*353 DD hand cream finished-now in recycling
*354 broken coathanger-now in recycling
I am also making a conscious effort (pinching Mrs SDideas) to leave a room tidy when I leave it. Reorganised and tidied spare room last night which looked much better after DD used it as a clothes dumping ground over the summer.
I'm also sorting more bits out to send in a charity parcel to one of my favourites that like cuddly toys for their tombolas.
4 wasps found the little blighters, but as it was so cold this morning I feel that the weather is now finishing them off.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great decluttering this week - well done everyone! I have 5 more decouttered bits to report, 4 via ebay and a CS book read and ready to return. We have emptied two huge bookcases, moved them to another room and refilled them ready for new carpet in a couple of weeks and possibly decorating if we feel strong enough. It makes you realise how lovely and big that room is without the books and paperwork. Must try and reduce them further!

Hi everyone
I've been missing in action for a month or so now:eek: I have been on from time to time trying to catch up though! But trust me when I say it's not because I'v not been doing anything :rotfl:
Since I was last on here, I've gotten rid of 10 black bags of stuff be they rubbish or donated items, 6 carriers bags and 2 boxes off to the charity shop too.
My local charity shop is still shut due to the Primark fireso it's been slowly but surely getting to another charity shop by taxi. It's costing me £8 taxi fare each time I go so it's not happening that often. But our local Primary school were doing a bags for cash fundraiser where we could donate bags of clothes, bed clothes, blankets, handbags, belts etc whether they were rags, usable or resellable so about 8 black bags and a few carrier bags went there alone:T
Aswell as that we've got the spare room redecorated, the living room redecorated and the hall painted :T Council has came and picked up the 2 old matteresses, and carpet and underfelt from the 2 rooms also.
I'm now in the process of de-cluttering the boxes and bags in the attic that belong to the living room and spare room as I really don't need nor want all that junk back in the rooms so taking this as a good opportunity to have a good purge of everything.
In the middle of that our heating has broken  so we're awaiting the man to come and fix that, so a few things de-cluttered from around the boiler and places he'll need to get to so that's taken priority at the moment lol.
Then next it will be tidying up and decluttering for Christmas. Problem with that being since getting a new TV unit for the living room we now have no-where for our :xmastree: to go:doh: so that's the next thing to figure out:think: as I've nothing else to declutter to make space there:rotfl:
Hope all is well with everyone here, I'm now off to have a catch-up on all your goings on and news since I was last on.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
