I love the idea of Giftaid Edwink. Welcome back. i am a bit of a pop in and out person, but always feel welcome.

Happy Kitties: My CS won't use any costumes that aren't in their original packaging. They are ultra careful though.

Amazing amounts of decluttering going on. I have actually been given a load of stuff for the CS so that is going in the car tomorrow, I want nothing out of it. I am also dropping off the Christmas boxes to my MiL who helps at a distribution centre each year this evening so I am going to call that two bags. one of boxes and one of spare bits for other boxes.

So my total will now be 55/52. In addition to the above I also took a takeaway box of batteries to work for recycling.

Happy Kitties, well done on keeping the numbers ticking over :T

IrishRose, that is so annoying  You would think that if they bother to ask they would bother to pick up  Oh well, their loss & the cs gain :D

edwink, sorry to hear you have been ill :(. But even in illness you have managed a huge amount of decluttering :T You are let off listing items :rotfl: especially as you are donating most of it :T What a great amount your items have raised in the last year :D I hope you are very proud :T & almost another £50 in GiftAid :T

bit by bit, well done on the restraint :D & very generous re Christmas boxes :T

Tuesday was a lovely bright day, if a tad chilly but Wednesday was glorious & warm. Thursday was a complete wash out as it rained most of the day - sometimes heavily.

DH carved 2 pumpkins for Halloween & with tea lights in they looked suitably spooky :T The kids enjoyed them but the adults were full of praise :D He did make an excellent job using a £2 pumpkin carving set :T
DH has been busy tidying the garage, finishing working on the front garden, and continuing with the sanding, repairing & oiling of the garden furniture.

DSis helped my DH in the garden on Tuesday & Wednesday but was let off any tasks on Thursday as it was her birthday :rotfl: Our DB finally remembered to send DSis a birthday card - first time in forever :rotfl: but no card from her son :( although he did phone :D Plus she got a phone call from the French Farmers wife wishing her Happy Birthday. So 3 cards, 2 phone calls, a box of chocolates, box of fancy biscuits & a large bunch of flowers - and bacon sarnie for lunch, sausages, mash, fried onions & mixed veg for dinner - Tried to spoil her :rotfl:

I have seasoned & roasted 3 roasting trays of pumpkin - will be making soup today. Lots of knitting & my daily tasks. Did drop off one bag of donations to CS on Wednesday & had a long chat with the lady in the shop. Small sm shop & have prepped fish pie for Friday’s dinner.

Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; washed up frequently; filled sugar bowl; worktops washed down frequently; lots of cooking; general tidying

    Numbers as follows:

C1639 - C1663 Non recyclable - 3 plastic trays & packaging, 14 plastic bags, plastic packaging, plastic pot & lid, 4 plastic lids, wooden template for base of garden tub, plastic netting - binned
C1664 - C1679 Two sets of Leaflets, 10 lots of cardboard packaging, cardboard tube, bag of recycling from DH, 2 cardboard boxes dismantled - recycled

C1687 Egyptian motif leather pencil case - CS

Keep up the good work my fellow declutterers :T

Thankyou Mrs SD. It hasn't been hard to not take stuff out of the bags. I have watched nearly every single film.

I have just had another bag of DVD's and three bags of clothes given to me tonight. Will sort Charity Shop style and out they will go on Sunday. Did a sneaky sell of some of the DVD's to the reading group, charged them the CS price which I will take in as a donation on Sunday too.

I am not counting these as bags because they aren't meant for me. I am going to count a 2 bags of clothes that have gone in the car, one sorted to sell and one for ragsI will add them when they have been delivered also Sunday,

Tomorrow I am going to my sister's in Portsmouth to help her clear her flat. She is a hoarder and has been told to sort out or clear out. She has actually been very good and seen this as an opportunity. A few years ago she had a months help from someone from MIND who then had his funding pulled. He still had a positive effect though and after he left she did continue to try. In short the hoard isn't as bad as it was.

I am to take whatever I can and load the van up, take it to the CS (or the tip) on her behalf. Not a problem when it's other people's stuff.

Right off to bed, a three hour drive for me in the morning.

Bit by bit, good luck in Portsmouth - your sister is lucky to have you :A

Friday was a lovely sunny & bright day but quite chilly.

DSis received another birthday card this morning:) She spent the afternoon valeting her car - it looks pristine.

DH had another busy day - he has finishing making the garden table (which is now ready for use), he has also finished the repairs, sanding & oiling of the garden furniture which is now stored for the winter. Still gradually tidying his office & the garage.

Two trays of roasted pumpkin bagged & put in freezer. The 3rd tray - paprika - was cooked with vegetable stock & blitzed - eaten for lunch with the last of the hm croutons - yummy
Vacuumed downstairs, did some more knitting whilst watching the last few episodes of Blue Bloods. HM Fish pie with lots of green beans for dinner - yummilicious

  • Hi Mrs SD, painting and shifting stuff around is going well but nothing has been culled yet. There is some stuff I want to get at but can’t reach that shelf as everything is jammed in. Soon things will start leaving again. Ooh I gorgot, OH got rid of a learn a language cassette pack so that’s one thing that left.

    Happy decluttering everyone!
  • Hi MrsSD, love reading this thread, gives me real motivation.
Not the best of starts yesterday, trailed around various opticians looking for assistance for my Ma who is suffering with her eyes (she has various long term health issues) no appointments with any ACES clinics, so ended up in A&E being told she may have glucoma  not great..
Still, we did managed to drop a bag of clothes to the homeless shelter and one to the charity shop:). Also decluttered takeout pizza as all were too tired to contimplate cooking, a rare treat so very much enjoyed.
Am decluttering various lists (into one, or two) while the electrician replaces my outside and kitchen lights.. :T
More appointments tomorrow for my Ma, so not sure what else will get done!

Keep up the good work all ;)

  • DD is home and has brought clutter with her:eek:

Have popped a couple of items on eBay and the rest is going to the charity shop. She did bring back her single bedding from last year but this will be used as it fits the single bedroom decor really well, it has saved me buying a spare set otherwise it would have been off to the charity shop aswell.

It does give me the chance when I have 5 minutes spare to sort out any bedding in the airing cupboard that is not used. When the spare bedroom was decorated that bedding went to the charity shop but will really have a sort through. Anything not used is going!

Other than that with DD being home I've not had time to declutter, have been out doing Christmas prep which DD absolutely loves and DD has checked the clothes going to recycling so when they are done that will be another 10 items out of the house:T:T:T

42/52 - an old homemade ornament into the bin (this has been on my list for a while but it took a bit of convincing)
