Sorry to hear about your DH eye Mrs SD. Hope he gets his appt soon x
Well done everyone! Lots of stuff going out that we all don't need anymore and making space in the mean time which can't be bad.
Another lot going out for me or already gone. Been slow as health dictating a bit at the moment and have other things chicken and duck wise taking up my time. Been collecting these bits along the way or when I spot them around the house. All mounts up though I'm pleased to say.

Mrs SD I wish I had some of ur energy. I hope OH and Dsis will be okay. I remember a friend also being advised to lie on her stomach for a week but that was after her eye surgery, will be good when OH is able to have the operation done.
Many thanks for ur kind words.......it is very slow success but it is always nice when my friend is in town and I get a message of is the spare room going and comments every time about it:T
WBF I read that as 68 packs of tennis balls and thought that's a lot of tennis balls for a person to have!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
bit by bit I remember when my kitchen was ripped out. I nearly went into meltdown.....did not enjoy it at all:(
Decluttering has been slow, on the wasp front only 1 wasp yesterday but 8 today but I dispute one of the 8.........he needed dusting......he had been there awhile:D
*309 DD pillow room spray that seemed to keep my guests at bay-now used up
*310 small hand creams used up, bottoms cut off to get the last out of them
*311 back to post office to post something back for DD that has just been floating around the kitchen
*312 packaging for the above
*313 roll of wrapping paper used- Christmas presents in full swing. Will not buy so much paper in the future:o
I can't think of anything else.
Happy decluttering everyone:jDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Decluttering challenge 2024 🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️0 -
1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)
3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED
Apologies for not posting the last couple of days
:T :j DH got the ‘call’ on Thursday about 12:20 - he was out the door & into a taxi by 12:35. Downhill from there - he was to be the last op of the dayDH phoned several times during the day as his retina reattachment kept getting put back - 3 emergencies brought in by ambulance
He finally had his op & eventually arrived home @ 21:32  He left home looking like Pirate Pete & returned home looking like Pirate Pete :rotfl: Joking aside, the op went well & DH told me that it wasn’t as bad as he had fearedBy the time DH got home he was starving
so the hm soup was welcome & far tastier than it looked :rotfl: Friday was the start of my ‘nursing duties’ - putting eye drops in
DSis had yet another blood test on Thursday after her drs appointment & then chemist & sm.
Glorious day weather wise on Thursday but rather than sunbathe :rotfl: I engaged in a bit of ‘displacement therapy’ (:T JackieO) so the cloakroom was my first target - washed down window frame & sill & cleaned window, washed skirting, scrubbed toilet, finally got the limescale off the basin :T by using vinegar soaked wet wipes & cleaned the floor ( on hands & knees using dried up wet wipes :rotfl:). Also washed window frame & sill & cleaned the dining room window inside & out. Cleaning no is definitely a good substitute for worrying :rotfl: Started knitting a baby blanket as well - basket weave which has an 8 row pattern, so concentration required & no rooming head for worrying
Friday - have done a bit of knitting. The relief that the op went well took away all motivation to clean or declutter :rotfl:
Re my three mantras: aired & made bed x 2; washed up x 2; worktops washed down x 2; filled sugar bowl; watered plants x 2; shredder emptied; vacuum cleaner emptied twice; general tidying & reorganising
Before I do my numbers, I will write my customary comments :rotfl:
Wanna Bee Free - :T on keeping up the momentum :T
Rose Crow - well done on rearranging the kitchen cupboards :T It is really nice when the contents of your cupboards don’t attack you when you open the doors :rotfl:
bit by bit, hope the makeover goes swiftly & smoothly& that you get the kitchen of your dreams
Well done on the bags for cs - one thing to fill them but great when they leave the house :T - you must have loads of space :rotfl:
pixielottie, still going strong with your decluttering :T. I have to hold my hands up to box addiction too :rotfl: I too have the unfortunate habit of throwing things in boxes until a later date :rotfl: Probably have ten or so boxes to sort out  plus of course the ‘Understairs Cupboard of Doom’ & we still have DSis’s crates & stuff to sort
marmiterules, shredding is such a therapeutic form of decluttering :T
edwink, DH on the mend & thank you for your kind words. I have to say that the ‘1 Top NEIGHBOUR’ gave me a picture of you decluttering a very nice neighbour :rotfl: A very good number of items decluttered :T
Happy Kitties, I had a vision of you dusting off the wasp & putting it in a case or on a shelf :rotfl: Nice & steady decluttering - keeps the numbers ticking over & keeps motivation high :T
Apart from dirt & dust :rotfl: it has just been the day to day decluttering

Mrs Salad Dodger Glad to hear I'm not alone in my box problem! I hope your DH is recovering well!
I was so good on my ikea trip and not a single box came home with meI got a few shelves for my peg board for craft markets, and a bag of orange mini daims! It's not a trip to ikea without a hot dog and a daim!!
I was eying up furniture for my studio which is coming one day... I had hoped this year but now I'm hoping for next. Honestly I can't wait to get all of the art stuff out of my room. I seriously lack space! I have too many clothes, and make up and so much art stuff, stock, supplies, packaging. I also run a supplies shop, so I have stock for that too! Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in stuff
Anyway I'm procrastinating....
I've started tackling my paper drawers and my desk which hasn't been properly tidied in about 12 ... no 18 months
So far...
61 - lots of paper recycled
62 - lots of packaging from paper binned
63 - blade packaging binned
64 - receipts filed
65 - tea bin (yes I still have tea hiding >.<)
66 - receipts from glasses wipes box filed, and box recycled
67 - dead glue stick - bin
68 - money off business card filed - the rest binned
69 - empty jewellery boxes - bin
70 - Ds returned to sister
Currently umming and ahing over some old phone boxes, part of me says bin them! the other part of me says they are good for storing little things, and using as desk tidies, decisions decisions, what do you reckon?
I have also uncovered a pot of posh chocolates, now they wont have been in direct sunlight and are all individually wrapped and in a glass jar (it's air tight it came with popcorn in it... that I did eat!!) , but some of them are from easter... eat or bin?
I actually start writing these, then leave it open on my laptop so I can keep adding to the list until I get to the next 10, that's how come my posts end up so long and disjointed :rotfl:
Out of interest do you listen to music or watch something while decluttering / tidying? I keep swinging from spotify, until the music starts irritating me, to netflix, always something I've watched before so I don't miss anything vital! haha. Today is Netflix - Shadow Hunters (I've watched it at least 5 times already it's a bit of guilty pleasure)
xanything's possible if you've got enough nerve

Happy Kitties, 68 lots of tennis balls would be enough for one of those tennis serving machines!
Just two old WW journals this weekend, it’s time to forgive myself and move on.
Mrs SD so glad to hear it wasn’t as bad as your hubby feared. Well done on the displacement cleaning!
Happy decluttering everyone.0 -
