Just in case anyone wanted to know where I send my surplus pens to, I send it to this charity, Pens for Kids UK (I don't think I'm allowed to post a link but google them). They send them abroad to African schools and orphanges which I think is lovely.
Thankyou! That's a brilliant idea, I have a shocking amount of pens! yet only use about 10 >.<

MrsSD, Sorry to hear about your sis. I hope the recording is ok and you are back to feeling normal with each other tomorrow. A good night’s sleep often fixes things for me. I had a vision of your furniture stickng it’s hands up and saying me, please clean me now and queuing to be done next. Good luck with the housework tomorrow, don’t do too much!
Pixielottie, that’s a great haul today.
HappyKittie not more wasps!0 -
Both hubby and myself were off work today so I finally got round to taking 3 large bags of clothes to the charity shop, as hubby was driving into town to get a hair cut, so we dropped them off on the way. I cleared out the wardrobe a couple of months ago and everything has been sat in the spare room since! I had a wonder while hubby had his hair cut - but thankfully did not find anything to take home with me.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)
3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED
Happy Kitties, steady progress on the decluttering & judging by the number of wasps you are disposing of you must have decluttered your DD’s bedroom of all their hiding places :T
Pixielottie, well done - lots of stuff out & you must be creating pockets of space all over the place :T
Wanna Bee Free, well done nice steady going :T The recordings were just about OK - only lost about 5 minsA good night’s sleep did fix things & the hm pizza I made for my DSis sealed the deal :rotfl:
Ashamed to say still no housework doneBUT your ‘delightful vision’ is now firmly imprinted -so Tuesday is housework day :rotfl: Everywhere I look I can see furniture, carpets, floors & windows begging to be cleaned :rotfl:
Well done sillyvixen :T Three large bags out :T that must have created a lot of space
Monday was a dry, bright & sunny day but oh so cold  Even had to put the heating on for a couple of hours - so much for waiting until 1st November :rotfl:
Panic stations this morning as we didn’t hear the alarm clock  DH woke with a start and an expletive which woke me  I got up, made him a coffee whilst DH got dressed etc & rang for a cab. Woke up 7:30 & out the door by 7:44 :T Arrived at hospital 8:15 for 8:30 appointment.
Downhill from there - we thought it was for the op but no - just the clinic for confirmation of the diagnosis & to meet the consultant who will perform the surgery. The waiting room was full & DH didn’t get seen by the nurse until 10:30 & then an hour later the consultant - who explained the op & advised that it would be done by the end of the week. It then went further downhill as DH was waiting for his paperwork which was misplaced - he didn’t get out of the hospital until after 3 p.m. having had nothing to eat or drink since 7:35  Then the bus took an age & he didn’t get home until 4:30 p.m.
Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; washed up; filled sugar bowl & jar, coffee & tea bag jars; worktops washed down; wiped down the inside of both ovens; general tidying

Also hoping to offload a porcelain butter dish, teapot and asparagus cooker to the cs,along with some underwear and take up the pet carrier etc.
More shredding to do too.
Also planned:the clothes washing and maybe cleaning the kitchen and bathroom floors (tiled) plus a tidy up.
Wanna Bee Free I know,it's great to see space appearing!0 -
9 wasps decluttered
WBF have found they have taken up residence in an air brick above the spare room but as it is getting colder they seem to want to come into the house to die:eek:
*293 a lot of old paperwork shredded
*294 file holding the above paperwork now in recycling as it was broken and used a new file
sitting around doing nothing
*295 DD book that i put on Amaz@n and sold really quick now in the post
*296 Packaging for the above
*297 card box containing items that have been decluttered and put away now in the recycling

Well done everyone on the decluttering
Dropped of a few items to our local horsey secondhand shop. It's so handy to offload horse items plus you can make a few quid too.
236-245. Horse books
246-250. Misc horse items
I feel like the decluttering is slowing down a little bit now, it's not as easy to find things to get rid of so I'm having to work harder. Might head over to the kitchen and see what we can lose in there.0 -
Wow, everyone is doing really well, some great decluttering today.
Sillyvixen, your spare room must be feeling a big release after a few months with 3 large bags waiting to go - great stuff!
MrsSD glad you and your sis are ok again. I hope your DH is ok after spending so long at the clinic. Crossing my fingers for his op.
Anyone else find shredding quite satisfying?
Happy kitties, sympathy over your wasp problem. No ideas what to suggest. Could you use a baking tray or something to try and block the air brick off?
Rose Crow, sometimes other people are getting rid of cool stuff. I had a pang when I saw the word horse books!
55-61 Odd earrings. I have found it really hard to get rid of single earrings where I have lost the other one. I think I worry that I will find the other one the next day. I have gone through my stash and got rid of 4 singletons plus 2 others that are missing parts but do match each other. It was the thread that got me motivated as I wanted to have something to post - thanks!

Marmiterules, nice steady progress & the cs benefitting with an eclectic mix of goodies
Happy Kitties, I hope you are giving them a decent burial :rotfl: after all they have chosen to leave this mortal coil from the comfort of your home :rotfl:
You know your decluttering is on track when you are seeing daylight & noticing a difference :T - I still haven’t really got to that stage although I am keeping rooms tidy as per No. 2However knowing that you are seeing a difference, spurs me on to do better :T You are proving that it can be done, so thank you :T
Rose Crow, I am with you on the slowing down - unfortunately now I only have quite large decluttering projects left to start. I am trying to gird my loins to tackle one without creating too much messwhilst also trying to get back into the habit of baking weekly, knitting scarves for the Mission & starting to write XMas cards
Wanna Bee Free, I lurve shredding :rotfl: to me it is therapeutic :rotfl: The only problem for me is that our recycling centre does not accept shredded paper, it has to go in the bin
Well done on the earrings :T - if you don’t want to bin them you could always donate the singletons to your local cs
Tuesday was another dry, bright & sunny day but still chilly - a properly autumnal day. However I resisted the temptation to turn the heating on - instead I ..... drum roll please ..... started the housework :rotfl::rotfl: to keep warm :rotfl:
Started upstairs: - vacuumed - our bedroom including under the bed (but haven’t done a very good job), the spare room, the bathroom & the landing; cleaned the window frames & sills & the windows in the spare room, our bedroom & the bathroom; washed down the skirting in our bedroom, as well as dusting the furniture; I also cleaned all the light switches upstairs; lastly I relocated various decorating bits from our bedroom to the dining room for onward transmission to the garage - a job for tomorrow :rotfl: I also sorted the contents of two knitting bags (that originally belonged to my DM) which had been brought from France. I was intending to donate to CS but they are sooo pretty that I am keeping them
Wednesday I will be vacuuming the stairs & downstairs rooms, cleaning windows, mopping kitchen & cloakroom floors - am on a roll :rotfl: You never know, I might actually start some serious decluttering :rotfl:
DH was working on decluttering his office & found my knackered old iPad - now he just needs to find the cables so he can download all the photos/videos I had stored :rotfl: That means another project to add to my list .
DH’s eye seems to be getting worse- he was straining to see/focus and starting to get a headache. Fortunately I engaged brain & realised that I had an eye bandage in one of the First Aid kits. DH managed to find a clear plastic eye patch & I used the eye bandage to fix it in place. Apparently it was almost instant relief :T We are both keeping our fingers & toes crossed that he gets a call tomorrow - otherwise I will have to turn my DH into a pirate again :rotfl:
Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; washed up; worktops washed down; general tidying
C1019 - C1023 Non recyclable - 3 plastic bags, big bag of rubbish from DH’s office, handful of rubbish from the knitting bags - binned
C1024 - C1026 Handful of paper detritus, magazine, toilet roll tube - recycled
C1027 - C1030 Milk carton, 3 plastic bottles - rinsed & recycled
May your decluttering mojo continue to be strong :rotfl:
