  • Well, I've found more bank statements to shred, plus I've got the next load of stuff for the cs ready:a pet carrier, a humidifier and some Ike@ bags.
  • Mrs SD - Ah good idea, I guess you do litter picking 'as and when' whereas I go out on a specific mission so I take my grabber :D Stupidly I didn't get a before/after pic of the cupboard, but I'm still enjoying it's emptiness :)

Wanna Bee Free - Aww that's great. I just hated the thought of taking it to the dump, didn't think anyone would want it but put a post on FB anyway and had about 5 very fast responses!

I now have a very warm sleeping bag hanging around. I would like to give it to someone like Shelter, but couldn't see any thing about donations on their website. I'm sure a homeless person would be very grateful for it. Any ideas?

Just in case anyone wanted to know where I send my surplus pens to, I send it to this charity, Pens for Kids UK (I don't think I'm allowed to post a link but google them). They send them abroad to African schools and orphanges which I think is lovely.

  • Some good work over the weekend. Rose Crow, I love your cupboard of doom, it's amazing what pops up. It was good to get reminded of the Pens for Kids charity, too.

I have managed to give away my trolley to a different friend, who will use it in her greenhouse. We were having coffee, and I was saying that it hadn't fitted in my friend's alcove, so it was still in the car. She had a look, and it was something she could use, so a good result.

Slightly down this weekend, because of the weather and the slowness of my progress generally, plus annoyance with myself at letting the clutter build up so much to start with. However, I know at some point soon the amount of stuff leaving the house is going to reach noticeable proportions, at least to me. Tonight I took a drawer out of a pine TV and video stand, which had lots of storage designed for the old VHS videos. It had all sorts of junk in there, most of which will be recycled to the charity shop or bin. I've forgotten for the moment who suggested emptying something completely before cleaning and organising it, but I have been using it as a method since, and it feels much more thorough.

    Have a great week everyone.
  • A couple more things today:

    51 Book (CS)
    52 Festival programme on a Lanyard (Bin/CS)

    52/630
  • 1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY

    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)

    3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED

Wanna Bee Free, well done :T Surprising how much stuff can be got rid of when you make time to declutter :D The Silver cleaners is one of those things that you need once in a while & then can never remember where you put it :rotfl: hence all the takers for your supply :rotfl: they probably thought it was easier than trying to find their own :rotfl: A win-win - you have decluttered & you have made several people very happy :A

Happy Kitties, you do love a challenge :rotfl: counting as job lots rather than individually :rotfl:
I have a vision of the wasps using guerilla tactics to escape your notice :rotfl: Hope the peppermint oil works. I notice though that your decluttering is continuing regardless :T

marmiterules, paperwork is a bit of a nightmare isn’t it :( Your cs donations are quite big so extra space :T:T

Rose Crow, I am an ad hoc litter picker upper :D The rain is currently putting a stop to my endeavours but I will continue when it gets a bit drier :D
Re the sleeping bag - local church or mission perhaps, or ask your local cs if they have any contacts.

tboo, steady progress & you know you can count the pink agate as decluttered because it has been repurposed :D

Molillie, the ‘cupboard of Doom’ is mine :( Rose Crow has the whimsical sounding ‘cupboard of mystery’ - I must admit that sounds more like a project I could tackle :rotfl: My ‘Cupboard of Doom’ is now looming large on the horizon plus the 3 or 4 crates full of French Paperwork which need sorting :(
What a result with the trolley :T you did say it wasn’t getting a foothold back in your home :rotfl:
Please try not to feel too down, Molillie - I think it is a S.A.D. thing :D It has been a horrible weekend weather wise & I thought I would feel like doing plenty of housework & a bit of decluttering :) but guess what ? Not a lick of housework :o but did make a chilli & created a pizza from scratch for my DSis :D She loved it so much that she stated she would never buy another pizza :rotfl: I also created a slightly spicier pizza for DH & I. A very good thing to remember your end goal & you will get there :T:T

DH spent a couple of hours at his niece’s place putting up shelves. Arrived back complaining that his eye was playing up. Half an hour later, after a quick bath, he was out of the door on the way to Moorfields Eye Hospital. He had checked his symptoms (the 111 phone no.) & was told he probably had a detached retina:eek: & should go straight to the hospital  At the hospital for 67 minutes from checking to leaving & diagnosis was confirmed - detached retina & has to go back to Moorfields for an 8:30 appointment tomorrow morning - small op under local anaesthetic. The doctor was very pleased with DH as he had turned up at the hospital less than 24 hours after he first started to have symptoms :T

DH & I thoroughly enjoyed the chilli but DSis hated it so cooked herself egg & chips.
RANT ALERT ... My SKY Box then decided to have a tantrum & locked. The only solution is to switch off at the wall but I was recording something so needed to wait. However my Not so DSis, decided that if I gave her the remote she could ‘sort it out’ Explained in reasonable tones that I knew my TV/SKY box & how it worked so no she could not have the remote. She then started insisting & ashamed to say :o I lost my temper & shouted because she obviously couldn’t hear me  Then I was informed that I was always shouting (flat out lie  & I really felt like punching her, the ungrateful ***). Fortunately she retired to her room leaving me fuming & muttering lots of swear words  My lovely DH came downstairs & gave me a big hug :D - have sorted the SKY box & DSis is staying in her room :).... RANT OVER

Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; washed up; filled sugar bowl yet again; worktops washed down; tightened toilet flush handle; general tidying

C986 - C994 Non recyclable - 3 plastic bags, 2 plastic trays & packaging, 2 bits of plastic packaging, small plastic pot, plastic packaging - binned
C995 - C997 Two bits of cardboard packaging, magazine - recycled
    C998 - C1005 Two Milk cartons, 4 Food tins & lids, 2 tin cans - rinsed & recycled

The housework is now demanding to be done :rotfl: so I really will make an attempt to do it tomorrow :rotfl:

May your decluttering mojo continue to be strong :rotfl:
