31 - 35 - TEA! Out of date or/and I'm just not going to drink it in the bin - I know that sounds silly but I love tea I have a whole cupboard dedicated to tea, and I don't believe it actually goes off, so it was a big move for me! (was actually more than the 5 but I feel counting each one is cheating, but grouping all as one is belittling the accomplishment :rotfl:
36 - Jumper - bin
37 - reframed my degree certificate so old broken frame - bin
38 - gave away some avon cards
39 - Finally got round to putting some photos up, they've been sat on the bookcase in frames for at least a year...
40 - Thrown more tea >.< - found in my bedroom this time, I seem to have tea stashed everywhere! oops!
In other news I'm happy to report the throw didn't end up at the charity shop and had ended up in my pile of summer clothes to put away! Never been so happy to find a throw! lol :j x
anything's possible if you've got enough nerve

A busy day today. The only decluttering I have done is a mass of shredding.Bank statements dating back 12 years!
Oh, also binned two plastic bottles (recycling).
There'll be a trip to the dump and the cs tomorrow.
pixielottie so pleased you found the throw!
Molillie thanks for your kind words.0 -
1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)
3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED
Molillie, just need the sink & toilet & you have a garden with an en suite :rotfl: “Motivator in chief - I like it :T Sorry that the trolley didn’t work out for your friendbut all that talk of footholds had me picturing the trolley girded for battle & laying siege to your front door :rotfl: with you fending it off with a brolly :rotfl:
Hope you have a great weekend too, Molillie.
Happy Kitties, did the wasps & bunnies suffocate from having clothes thrown on them :rotfl: You do know that moving items into space that has been created (by decluttering) is also a form of decluttering :T & presumably you now have a space where the items were originally located :T plus you have also kept your numbers ticking over :T
Natalie, decluttering & receiving payment :T Now that is a win-win :rotfl:
pixielottie, congrats on finding the throw :T I had a mental picture of it hiding among your summer clothes because it became shy & didn’t want it’s picture taken any more :rotfl: A decent number of items out as well:T
Marmiterules, please do not underestimate the joy of decluttering paperwork - I am sure it breeds :rotfl: 12 year old bank statements - almost old enough to have a part time job :rotfl:
Friday was a mixed day weather wise - wet, chilly & windy interspersed with blue skies & brilliant sunshine - sometimes all within the space of 10 minutes :rotfl:
DH was a busy little bee again :T The Hardly Worthitson was washed & polished before being put back in the garage & covered with the cover from a Honda Goldwing :T The Goldwing is now back in rotation :T DH also put up a few extra hooks in the garage so as much as possible is hanging from walls rather than cluttering up the garage floor :rotfl: DH also decluttered a mirror onto the hall wall :T
I cleaned the bathroom including scrubbing the toilet & getting a nice shine on the mirror. Started sorting out the footstool yet again
Did two loads of washing & managed to get it line dried - just a 15 minute burst in the TD to take the chill off. The good news was that there were no sewing repairs required, so everything folded & put away :T Dinner was the rest of Thursday night’s chicken & mushroom carbonara - not a morsel left :rotfl:
Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; washed up; filled sugar bowl; worktops washed down; put a few items into the cupboard of doom; general tidying
C950 - C954 Non recyclable - 3 plastic bags, plastic tub & lid, DH’s 30 year old worn out motorcycle boots - binned
C955 - C958 Toilet roll tube, cardboard packaging, 1” paperwork, small pile of leaflets & envelopes - recycled
C959 Book ‘A Cockney Camera’ - in CS bag
STILL no housework done (apart from the bathroom:)) but will DEFINITELY do some tomorrow :rotfl:
May your decluttering mojo continue to be strong :rotfl:

Eww Mrs SD that's horrid! Can you get a litter grabber thing?
Back on the de-cluttering, today we're tackling the 'cupboard of mystery' (so named because our 2 cats love it!) Been a busy week with work so no decluttering this week. Going to have a huge pile of stuff to take to CS next week
180-215. 35 miscellaneous items in the bin
CS pile:
216. Sleeping bag
217. Unused car cleaning kit
218. Unused soap making kit
219. Unused car battery charger
220. Extention lead
221. Iron
222. Ironing board
223. Crutches
224-227. 4 coats
228. Travel insulated food bag
229. Foot pump
To recycling centre:
230. Huge cardboard box
231. Paint tin
232. Very old mobile phone
Phew! Just put the remaining items back in the cupboard and it looks amazing! The lounge on the other hand looks like a bomb site, well until I do a CS run0 -
Just had a nice result on some camping gear I found in the 'cupboard of mystery'. I found 2 tents and an airbed in there and didn't know what to do with them. Of course I didn't want to bin them, so I just popped a post on Facebook saying free to a good home. I had a very appreciative lady ask for them, so I'm going to drop them off to her tomorrow. Sounds like it's made her day, so it's made me feel good, plus that's 3 more items leaving the house
233-235. Camping equipment rehomed0 -
THree more bin bags of shredding in the paper recycling bin. That's it for now,but there will be more at some point in the next few months.
I also went to the dump and the cs with more stuff.I can see a difference in the cellar space.0 -

Rose Crow, I could but it would be awkward to carry around:( I will just make sure that I have a supply of gloves in my coat pockets & be more careful
Well done on the ‘cupboard of mystery’ :T:T I hope you took before & after photos :rotfl: just to remind yourself of the hard work put inand think how tidy your living room will look after your cs delivery
Great news on the camping gear as well & you deliver :T:T Keep up the good work Rose Crow
:T
Saturday was a miserable, wet & chilly day - more like winter than autumnDSis took me shopping in the car & that was the only thing I did all day apart from make dinner - oven baked sausages, fried onions, mash & baked beans - it was just what the doctor ordered :drool:

Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; DSis washed up & I dried & put away; filled sugar bowl yet again; worktops washed down; general tidying

Marmiterulesok, it’s great you can see space appearing in the cellar!
Rosiecrow, I get such a warm feeling from something being rehomed like that. Ages ago we found 11 opened but lightly used silver cleaners in the cupboard under the stairs. New one every Christmas as I couldn’t find last years. I posted this on Freegle and had a stream of happy people collecting them - I really didn’t expect any takers!
Mrs Salad Dodger, I love your housework tomorrow
I had a good couple of days at home so could focus on this:
Friday 21st
27 White Ribbon (CS)
28 Old work notebook I finished last month - shredded. I used to keep these hanging around for years so this is a breakthrough!
29 Jar of salsa - Foodbank at Supermarket - bought a hot one for a friend but it didn’t get used as planned and realised it will linger forever as none of us like the spicy one.
30 Stone candleholder - used to love it but no longer (CS)
31 Decorative semi precious stone oval coaster thing - unwanted gift (CS)
32 & 33 2 pretty stones (released back into the wild)
34 Leaky dead flesh travel shampoo bottle. Researched thoroughly, thought it would be perfect. Hated it from first use. Finally had a moment when it leaked yet again. (Rubbish bin).
Saturday 22nd
35 - 38 3 manuals for things we no longer own
39 Book (CS)
40 - 48 8 expired membership cards
49 1cm of paperwork for shredding
50 Broken water filter jug (recycling / rubbish)
50/630 - Have a good Sunday everyone!0 -

Mrs SD never thought of it like this but it is true and it is so nice to have the space to put things away I want to keep
No dust bunnies now but still a few wasps:(
Will update totals properly tomorrow
I have t-bags from around the world which are displayed in my kitchen. Was bought a tea set at Christmas which was stuck doing nothing. Have broken it down so I could use the mug, jams and the teas have gone in my emergency tin. It included a toast rack that I put in my charity bag which has been going well until the cats knocked the bag off and broke the toast rack:eek:. I am determined to hit 10 items in the charity bag:j.
I've also charity items that will be leaving the house and managed to sell some craft items on eBay. Only for pennies but hopefully they will go to someone who will really use them:T. Could count the individual items in the lot but I'm just going to count it as decluttering one thing just to make the challenge harder for me:)
So will update my totals tomorrow but really happy in the positive direction which I am headingDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Decluttering challenge 2024 🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️0
