Nicky really sorry to hear about your home being burgled. I hope you can get the insurance sorted relatively quickly. I work with victims of crime and know how being burgled can change the way you feel about your home.

NSD number 21 today, plus 18 healthy days. Probably won't post again this month but I'm more than happy with what I've achieved this month. I'm having a 'no forum February' so will check back in for March. Enjoy February's challenge everyone

hugs Nicky,it is horrible to feel invaded.

After yesterday's wobble my plodding seems to be working. Another no sleep night so felt grotty this morning but hot food and bath made me feel better so carried on with 'sorting' and clearing. Several large boxes only had a few things in them but I am doing pens, glue sticks, buttons, decorative pegs, etc so it's slow (don't want to end up with a drawing pin in me.)

Revived a bit more by late afternoon so slow but steady progress (and I keep throwing stuff in the washing machine). Had a fight with a cardboard box (it was bigger than me) and won and hav emptied the paper sack again, plus bits of recycling. Small boxes deployed in mychest of drawers to act as dividers.

Paper work is looking less of a problem. A box that I thought was full of paper had only 3 new files and some bank stuff (paying in books that I think are no longer required) so the stuff that was in there must be the stuff I went through last week (halved it but could be culled further, I think). The end is in sight but my estimate of one week for this room and one week for the kitchen was hopelessly optimistic.

I think yesterday was mainly frustration at how long it takes me to do every little thing. The part that's done looks good though.

Today I am grateful for my bed, hot baths and food and entertaining internet when I sit back to rest my ankle - found the support bandage but still haven't strapped it up..

  • Thank you for the good wishes everyone. Anxiety levels still running a little high but trying to plod on with life. Foxholes 4 times in 4 years sounds horrendous. We are planning to be in this house a long time so once we've got a new alarm, security lights and extra locks I'm hoping it would be difficult for any other scumbag trying to make a quick buck! I didn't think we had much of any value to take either but forgot about my husbands work laptop and hadn't even considered that the car might get taken. Keys will be going upstairs with me in future!

Will carry on reading along and join back in when things have settled down xx

    Was a spend day today.
Went round friend's this afternoon. We had a few food treats and a few brandy's. Then we went to bingo. Both enjoyed it.
    Did some walking today.
Did put some money into my savings.
Brought 10 birthday cards for £2.

Today should be NSD 19 as I need nothing!

And it costs nothing to paint skirting boards and door frames (yawn) when you already have all the stuff in the house already.

So that is my day - school run - painting and cleaning t' house - school run - food and bath smalls. Not exciting, but needed.

    Tomorrow is ..... boiler servicing.

They don't tell you in school it will be like this.

Yesterday I posted my ebay sales, one was money into my account and the other was a game DS sold, it was quite a large box so I was glad to see it go. Also took all the donation bags to the CS. I rang the library about donating the books but they don't take them anymore - totally crazy imo.

Last night I sorted out the very large bag of Christmas bows, ribbons, tags etc that was taking up a large amount of space. I had loads of Christmas cards in there that I had saved to make gift tags but I also have loads of ready done tags, I only buy gifts for my children and I put those in re-useable gift bags so I didn't actually need them. Anyway I kept all the tags, recycled all the cards (so many had the dreaded glitter on though), got rid of other bits of rubbish so the bag is now way smaller and going forward I won't be buying into all this nonsense.
