I'm going to have to go back to lurker status. Been scrimping all month to try and save a bit more towards the house renovation fund but we were burgled overnight on Thursday. Laptops, purse, cash and car stolen! Insurances should pay most back but we'll lose excesses and premiums will now go through the roof. Plus we'll be getting a new alarm, locks and extra security features which will cost a fair bit too. As well as the money I just feel sick about it all and not safe in my own house. Very sad times. Hopefully be back in a month or two xx

How awful, you must be feeling terrible.

Several years ago my MIL gave DD some gold jewellery, she has never worn it and never will and had actually forgotten about it. I hadn't and last week I asked her if she wanted to weigh it in (MIL didn't want it back) so yesterday we took it to the jeweller and weren't expecting much but she got £42. I think they may actually be going to sell a necklace rather than melt it down. One very happy DD.

So sorry to hear this, we were burgled in 4 houses on the bounce, in about 4 years. I understand the feeling, get that alarm and it will help. We didn't have much to steal tbh, but the feeling that someone uninvited came into your house is horrid.

Today I am grateful that I live on the edge of the land. I am a real coastal dweller. I once lived in a northern city for 3 years and when I returned to living by the sea, albeit in a different place to where I grew up, it was only then I realised what the feeling of suffocation had been:o

Managing on the £60 a week budget for food/pets/cleaning - an inventory of cupboards ( food, cleaning and toiletries) and freezers has helped. Plenty to use up before need to buy more:D

Nicky Noo Na. so sorry to hear that.

haven't been on here for a few days as computer is being very silly. Not sure really if it's that or the hub.

    Up to 21 NSD :j.
Decided to join slimming World.Been thinking about it for a while. No one to blame except me for the way I am so only me can do something about it.

Made money on ebay and on survey sites,so I don't feel too bad in doing that.
Not sure what my goal is. Would like to be tidy and decluttered. Always wanted to be 5 foot with long blonde hair. Not much chance of that for a 5"7 grey haired oldie.:rotfl:

Achieved my NSD goal but am overspent on budgets. Next month I will be allowing a extra on food/spends as I finally got my back pay, and wages corrected.

    Today I am grateful for:
    • Time to get organised
    • Feeling more financially stable at last
    • An evening of peace and quiet
    See you all tomorrow x
