Using Trustnet and selecting the top performing funds with a five crown ratings I have picked the second choice fund of NEPTUNE RUSSIA & GREATER RUSSIA CLASS C - ACCUMULATION (GBP). Will drop some money in there when I get paid on Wednesday and keep you updated!
This is just for a bit of fun, please don't think I have any idea what I am doing lol.Think first of your goal, then make it happen!0 -
Looking at Trustnet it seems that I'll be America bound again.

If you're willing to do that I'd be willing to post a benchmark comparison you or others might require.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -

This could be a new Cold War on MSE
Russia vs America
The Bear vs Bald Eagle
Vodka vs Bud
Vlad the Impaler vs Mad Don
Neptune Russia 5 Crown vs (perhaps) New Capital US Future Leaders Unhedged nil Crown :eek:0 -

lol, you could also add Rocky v Drago!
Are you determined to stick to six months? I mean, haven't you been tempted to sell when it goes over x percentage?
I think this is a good game. I have a plan for my finances, but I am like a kid in a candy store and just want to keep changing things up and experimenting. I never thought of putting a bit of play money aside before for a bit of a gamble. Hopefully this thread will help me to leave my real money alone!Think first of your goal, then make it happen!0 -

Rouble vs Dollar
ahh Ok, maybe not that one.
The original plan was for a looonnngggg haul, with the holding being changed ever 6 months and I've managed to stick with that so far.
Perhaps if one of the funds had performed like a streak of lightning flashing cross the sky, like the swiftest arrow whizzing from the bow, temptation may have come knocking. But they haven't, so neither have I !!!:beer:0 -
I've enjoyed reading this thread and might have ago. I am not trading at the moment so have no platform. Which do you recommend to buy and switch that's easy for a beginner?0

I'm using Hargreaves Lansdown with my SIPP. It charges a 0.45% annual fee, doesn't charge for purchasing funds, but does if you buy individual shares (which I don't). It is my intention to swap to another platform once the fund up to 50k where a flat fee might make something like Interactive investor more cost effective. I don't know what the fund selection is like on Interactive Investor though.Think first of your goal, then make it happen!0
