My pick of Polar Capital Global Insurance is up 4.64% Meaning my initial "investment" of £500 is now worth £523.19.

Unsurprisingly it has been a bit of a roller-coaster, with the value up 11% at one point. I picked it because of it's good track record and reasonable charges so if your dog's race is run I think I will leave it where it is for now.
Think first of your goal, then make it happen!

The last Tuesday of January (and July) is when I switch my baby bonkers investment so out goes Ruffer Gold (at a loss) and in comes Premier Ethical which, interestingly, has had new managers since last July, ie for the relevant last six months.
  • I've just had a quick shuftie as to what

New Capital US Future Leaders Unhedged - Accumulation (GBP) has done since it was so brutally cast adfrift by me a year or so ago.

By the look of it, its risen by over 60%, (even though it had dropped by 3% just before Christmas), whereas the Vanguard FTSE Dev World ex UK that I invested the Bonkers proceeds has risen by just over 11% - so Bonkers has had the final laugh at me from the vets table !

    No, I don't think so.
In most cases, Bonkers seemed to underperform in the 6 months that I was looking after him/her, followed by the replacement Bonkers doing the same !

  • I haven’t read this thread, proving perhaps that I’m not bonkers, but given historical data going back ten years or more, it’d be pretty easy to test the bonkers strategy, and several others too. To be honest I thought it would work on the grounds that winning streaks tend to run for a few years, but maybe that assumption is wrong.

Perhaps if you’d kept your money in the fund with the best ten year performance.
