I've just instructed my
BNY Mellon Brazil Equity
to be sold and placed an order for New Capital US Future Leaders Unhedged - Accumulation (GBP) from the proceeds.
I'll be up from the Brazillian sale, which is more than acceptable, but I'll be able to do a proper compariosn on Mon/Tuesday.
So, once again its U S A. U S A, U S A................0 -
It is a new fund so you don't have much info to go on. Although the top few holdings have had pretty serious growth over the last few years. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
I'm also looking forward to seeing how much of your losses you have managed to claw back.Think first of your goal, then make it happen!0 -

Hey, don't knock insurance salesmen, it's the quiet ones that party the hardest. You would too if you had to talk about insurance all day! :rotfl:Think first of your goal, then make it happen!0 -
Here's my trading update.
I've sold my 648.614 BNY Mellon Brazil Equity Class W ACC units for 144.6901ppu = £938.48 and I've bought New Capital US Future Leaders Unhedged - Accumulation (GBP)
8.1635 units@ 11496.08830PPU
So, since Jan 2018 following the Bonkers approach, my £1000 has falen in value to £938.48
If i had invested my £1000 with these "usual suspects", this is what I'd now be looking at
Vanguard LS 80 ACC £1102
Vanguard LS100 ACC £1114
HSBC FTSE All World Index S ACC £1133
The above figures aren't accountancy accurate, as I'm struggling to find a source that easily gives me an 18month performance figure.
Bonkers clearly has a lot of work to do - the first few year obviously count for a lot and the first 18 months haven't been brilliant.0 -
Good to get an update. I have a feeling this future leaders fund is going to get you back in the black!
Can I suggest that you change the name of the thread to something more relevant and easier to understand, like "The race to the bottom!"Think first of your goal, then make it happen!0 -
Sadly, after 2 years of very solid underperformance, I've today take Bonkers the Dog to the vets and the outlook doesn't look at all good.
In the last 6 months, he's lost another 12.5% of his value/£117.31 which means that the original £1000 is now worth only £821.17.
On Monday, I'm going to ask that Bonkers is finally put to rest and the £800 or so pounds be put to a better home/fund.0 -
Sad to hear about Bonkers's sad fate. I have enjoyed the thread and will miss the postings on his progress.
I guess this is a win for conventional investing.
Watch out for the thread in which a pumped-up newbie has challenged one of our eminent contributors (single shares - chosen on the basis of historic high performance - versus a pragmatic choice of fund). If US tech goes off the boil the newbie's crash will be pretty spectacular.
Have you chosen a replacement for Bonkers?0 -

At least you did not take Bonkers for a walk in the WOOD and get wet in a FORD0

Have you chosen a replacement for Bonkers?
Yes, he's going to be replaced with a very dull and unexciting fund from Mr Vanguard. The new fund is called FTSE Deceloped World ex -UK Equity Index A.
He's not going to set the world alight with fun, but if I'd given my £1000 to Mr Vanguard 2 years ago, he'd now be worth £1191, rather than £821.17...and is he coming from the pound or a breeder?
He's coming via a Mr Hargreaves-Lansdown, who's looking to take an annual cut of 0.45% of the proceeds.0
