Have you asked your GP about the water retention? My mum was put on water tablets to deal with hers, so perhaps they might help? (She did say she kept having to visit the loo though. Well that water's got to come out!)0

Ah yes when we were younger LOL!
Still it sounds like you have done a good variety of jobs so you will find it easier to turn your hand to most things. The problem may be the types of work available in your new area as opposed to the city, but you sound flexible in your approach so that's great.
I think your idea of a job within public transport range and for regular hours is good so you'll just have to be very good at seeking these types of jobs out. The good news is that there's more part time/flexible hours work available these days. Bear in mind you're not necessarily looking for your forever job at this point, just the next one to support your recovery, so look at everything with an open mind.
So, procrastination jobs aside, did your job searches turn up anything even slightly like this? You do need to practice applying and then interviewing (gosh scary.....) so if nothing so far we need to keep on looking and possibly widen the net...... Although January was always a job search write off - but it's February now
Oh dear think I'm back to bossy. Sorry it just slips out!0 -

Hi gigervamp
I probably have described the tablets wrong . It's just that prednisolone is a steroid , which equals massive weight gain . I don't think I can do anything , but reduce and stop . I have been looking at various topics on prednisolone and basically , within a year of stopping using it the weight should just reduce . I'm gonna reduce next week to 0.5 mg . Easter is when I hope to stop . Hopefully by Christmas the weight will be reduced a lot . We'll see ..0 -

Well, I did save a position for a funeral advisorThe feedback about the company wasn't great though . Trouble is , I am bombarded with so much stuff that is nothing to do with my job search or location .
I'll just keep going...

So can you travel there and do the hours suit? It's just one job, so why not practice applying? Make a list of questions you would want answers to if you got an interview. Practice makes perfect.
You need to get thse email alerts for your search quite tight on location at least. Governments find a job is quite good on this, indeed not very but hey ho.
Keeping going is great and you will find you get into a rhythm with your job search.0 -
Hello AC,
I take a long weekend off and you're making me feel bad with all the things you've achieved. Personal training with a stinking cold?
As ever you seem to be moving forward with your goals well so I hope something suitable turns up for your job hunting.
Well done on getting the kitchen cleared, emptying the crates and putting them up for sale.
We've still not had much snow here, but that's not a bad thing It rarely snows badly in London anyway, so not sure why I'm surprised.
Take care, stay warm and get well soon.0 -
Hi MT
Thanks for the well wishes and thoughts . I think I feel that I'm fine now . Don't forget though that you have a full time job , and you seem to be busy and have lots going on yourself , so you have an excuse . I'm running out of those :rotfl:
Will catchup on your diary soon...

Thought it best to update the journal on the universal credit website.
I also looked at the funeral position. I was on the verge of applying via my ipad. The thing is, it was a long drawn out affair which meant I had to access my cv. I had to go on my main mac ,as my cv is on there.
i'll have to fix that.
Just as I go on the mac, the mouse needs charging.
After all that, the expiry date for applications past.
I decided to tell universal credit I applied for it yesterday. I also told them I joined the Total Jobs website yesterday when I actually joined years ago.
Hope I'm not digging a hole for myself there, and that they don't check.
I've been the UC radar for 8 days now. I expect a phone call soon to arrange for my first appt with the career coach.
Got a call from my opticians yesterday. Can't believe it's 2 years since I saw them. I'm gonna see them next Tues. I joined them when I was living in the rented flat around the corner. Time flies.
I forgot to mention who I bumped into the last time I was in the opticians..
Everybody! ;)I'll leave it there0 -

That's great work AC! No worry about missing the deadline at least you have had a bit of practice and worked out some of the things you'll have to fix/get slicker at for the next one. All good stuff
I can't tell the number of times at job club we had to try and rescue a cv from a strange place (perhaps a sent mail box), download it onto job club PC temporarily, then upload it into a job application. A right PITA! And this was with clients whose first language not English or with learning difficulties or dyslexia. So my advice is make yourself a blank email template with your cv attached (so you can quickly email your cv out), put a copy on all your devices and consider a memory stick too! Belt and braces stuff! And these activities will count as getting ready for your job applications too!
As far as your job search is concerned, you're doing fine, just keep moving forward. I'm not sure how much they check, but you're early stages so they should be advising you and helping you in your job search at the moment and probably asking for evidence later. You can ask your job coach what they will expect to see each week.
Now we need more jobs to practice with, keep up the search :T0 -
