  • How are you getting on AC? Is it hot enough for you? I feel like I'm melting!!

    Hello Mrs.P :)
Sorry that you are melting . I've forgotten what part of the world where you are. I must say that where I am now, the temp is a little lower than London . When it was 30+ degrees c , it was 22-24 degrees here so that helps . I don't have ceiling fans here ,but if I was back in Twickenham they would've been on 24/7.
I remember 2 years ago ( time flies) , where I was refused holiday to escape the heat in that rancid "office " I was working in . Wearing a suit also . Thankfully , that's all behind me now :)

I'm going to get cv sorted during the week( yes I know:o) ,but I dont fancy doing much in this weather. Still browsing the daily emails from indeed in the meantime.

On Monday , I get measured again by mr. Trainer . TBH I don't think that I would've lost much as the steroids are still telling me that I will be bloated . However, it is only on the stomach now imho.
Mr.trainer has been bulking up my muscles which adds weight .
I have an appointment with my specialist at st.thomass hsp in July .
I cannot remember if it's Tuesday week or the following Tuesday .
If he / she can reduce my prednisolone and possibly azathioprine and eventually stopping then I believe the weight will fall off me .

I've been watching the World Cup and saw my friends last sat at short notice . The dyson fan has come in handy :)Tomorrow I'll be seeing another 2 friends in Brockenhurst .
I haven't been to the gym since Monday, but have been doing stuff at home . I have been having ice cream and lollies

    I think that's everything :)
    Hope you are well

Hi AC, I was reading a blog today and the author was writing about window film, which I remember was one of the suggestions for your windows. I had a look at the link she posted to a company that makes them, and I wished that I needed to put some on my windows, because they had lots of different designs, which looked really nice.

Anyway, I thought I'd post the link here, in case you want to have a look.

Have a good weekend, and get that CV done! It's all very well looking at the jobs on ineed, but you'll need a CV to apply. We're half way through the year now already.

Hey AC. Just thought I'd drop by.

Bet you are a lot cooler at the coast then here in Derbyshire. We couldn't be any further from the sea.

I have been busy sorting, packing, taking stuff to the charity shop, and the tip. Great fun. I am hoping to be in by September at the latest, hopefully a bit earlier would be nice.

Wow its two years ago since you were stuck in London, coping with the summer heat, doing a job you hated, with the buss from hell and colleagues who were driving you nuts, battling on the tube every day. Life must be so much sweeter for you now.

And hopefully your health will be so much better and you can start weaning yourself off the meds. But even without that your fitness levels much be so much better now.

I have just booked myself for a course of acupuncture. Had to pay privately because the NHS provision here for "extras" is poor. I had my first session on Friday and I have to admit I feel a bit better already. I do so hope it works, I want my body back, to be free of pain and able to exercise properly and get fitter. We are looking at a course of 16 treatments and then maintenance treatments 4 times a year. Fingers crossed.

Thinking back to two years ago when you were stuck in your flat, no money, up to your ears in debt, sick, no future, no prospects you really have done so well. However............you've had a good rest now and you really do need to think about money again. You really need to start earning, even if it's just part time.

You have to pay the bills and put food on the table. You can't keep dipping into your capital indefinitely. Once capital is spent it is very difficult to put it back.

If it's only part time, then any old job will do. It doesn't have to be high powered......given your health I would advise against taking on a stressful job but you must start earning ASAP.

    Come on AC, get cracking.

A friend put some of that film on her bathroom window on her house in Spain because the builder had put in plain glass. Downstairs bathroom:eek::rotfl:

It was one of those fake stain glass ones. The effects with the sun streaming through were so pretty.

I saw a picture of a house for sale recently (it was a very nice house), and the bathroom had the freestanding bath in front of the clear glass window, and they didn't have any curtains or a blind up!
Either the owners are exhibitionists (there were houses opposite), or they never use that bathroom!

    Hello again Gigervamp /LL :)
I'm just watching the football ,and thought I'd check any updates while the punditry is going on .

Glad you're getting your house in order LL, and that it's just a case of legal formalities etc.
The acupuncture is a godsend imho . As I was a regular client back in Twickenham , I was paying £20 a session once a week. If I remember , I reduced it to once s month due to me being broke .
There is an acupuncture clinic up the road from me . I may use it at sometime . Who knows ?

Had a pleasant day in Brockenhurst yesterday . We managed to be in the shade wherever we went so everything was manageable .
Haven't slept well for a few nights because of the heat ,but I'm not the only one. I used the dyson and that helped .

I will be sending cv out this week and will see what gives .
The hot weather is my final excuse ,so I'll crack on with it :)
Reality is hitting home now, and I know I'm up agains it . I only want part time work ,but my age and location ( plus I've been doing the same type of job more or less forever) are against me. I can't be a rocket scientist any longer. I have been taking the "your health is your wealth " saying too literally but if I didn't rest I'd be in bits .
Hopefully , I may be able to find the ideal situation of work/ rest.

I didn't realise that I have to go to st Thomas hsp in London on Tuesday . I'm paying approx £120 for the journey
That price is the max . Trouble is , if you book a cheaper tkt you can only use certain trains and the last time I went in sept I was over 3 hrs waiting to see Dr specialist . I'll book tkt tomorrow incase I get text advising me my appointment is cancelled .

So this appointment could be the most important consultation for a long time . I'm hoping the prednisolone could be actually stopped by the end of the year. I'm also hoping the same for the azathioprine .
I cannot remember the dosage of the azathioprine ,but I think it's more than the prednisolone . Only 3 tablets now, was 5 , and obviously much more . The prednisolone is 2.5 mg and was 5mg in sept .only one tablet . I'm getting fed up of looking overfed . If I was female , people would be giving up their seats on public transport as they think I'm carrying triplets . My theory is that if I'm off of the steroids , then the weight has to come off .i know the weight is a lot harder to budge in your 50's but I've been going to the gym , cut out the crisps and lucozade forever and bread has been reduced a lot etc

I have a session with mr. Trainer again tomorrow but don't fancy it ,because of the heat .also because I'm being measured again and I don't think anything has changed .could be wrong :)

The difference between Here and London regarding my situation over the last few years is that I'm not as sweaty and clammy as before.just a bulging belly

Sounds like you are doing ok there AC. I agree with LL that part time work could be the way to go for you. Should be lots of seasonal work in Poole. It is very sticky here too in South East Cornwall. I have spent this afternoon with my 2 little granddaughters. The 2 year old never stops chatting and the 2 month old is sleeping lots during the day but sadly for my DD and SIL not quite so good at night.

Good luck with the hospital appointment. I agree losing weight in your 50s is not easy. I have been going to the pool and swimming quite a lot over the last few weeks.

    Hi enthusiastic :)

That’s one thing I was glad of being an uncle. The children went back to their parents :rotfl:

I’ve just been munching on a hazelnut choc bar. Then , either part of tooth or filling came out . So, I’ve got to make an appointment with the dentist for hopefully weds. I’ve taken out a monthly plan with them , so hopefully no extra charges . If it’s not one thing ...

It might be cheaper to buy a fixed train ticket to London then a flexible one for journey back
Have a look amd play around with booking two singles
Hope hospital visit works out well
