It's pricier than other houses have sold in the past because of that development potential.
So you have to ask yourself why you're interested in that particular house, which has no outstanding features whatsoever that most people could spot ....
A seasoned developer might, say, spot that they could squeeze FOUR houses in there .... and know how the current planning etc works so they can probably get that passed.
Two semis were for the area currently occupied by caravan, the plan didn't involve knocking the original property down.
My current plans are very simple
Convert the lawned area to a fully kitted outdoor play area for my 3yr old twins
Install a cricket practice net on a flattish corner for myself
Use lodge as a study and for guests visiting for overseas
Any development will be in distant future. The appeal for me is outdoor space which is very difficult to get in the area we want.
Ooh and did I mention road noise outside and backing to an ancient church graveyard which is hidden by trees. The church is now converted in to apartments and has people living there.Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. - Alex Supertramp0 -
I was unaware that you could, but unless it is an investment, a boat or plane is of no use if it has to be hidden away, but like the 'man with a barn' you could hide and still use a caravan.
We tried to buy a houseboat in the 1970s. We couldn’t get a mortgage but a marine loan which was very expensive. Things may have changed since then of course.0 -

No it does not mean that the council has given permission for residential use of the static caravan.
The valuation office has given it a council tax banding because it is a self contained residence.
As I understand it planning permission isn't required for a static caravan in the garden of a residence if its use is ancillary to the main house but is required if it is a self contained residence.
You will have to ask the council about the status of this static caravan.
I think that if you removed the kitchen it would no longer be liable for council tax or need planning consent.0 -
Haha, wow... no, I would not pay a penny for that ramshackle mess in the garden. I'd be revising my offer to ensure it's £5k BELOW asking price if the stuff is staying.0

There is only one price for the property. It is being sold as a whole. I think 5k below asking price will be received very happily.

So council is charging tax as a self contained residence but it is possible they may not allow it. How does that work?
If I was to risk not obtaining permission, what's the point in telling council and pay tax.

Phew because those caravans were terrible - whole post makes much more sense when viewing the right RM link!0 -

Area is all dormer bungalows.
I was thinking knock the lot down replace with apartments or a row of houses.
If the church has been done planning may go for more apartments.0
