I challenge you to see a difference between a 2.6 Gig celeron and a 3.6 gig pentium4 in day to day applications,
heck, you wont see that great a difference between the two in games also
yes, if you have the money, spend more on the pentium 4,
if you havent tho, £328 is excellent price
........besides, its not trivial to upgrade hard drives (for most people) when it becomes full
and, the monitor is the thing you look at most often with your PC, so is the most important part
if you save over a year, a P4 chip to replace your celeron will cost peanuts and is a fairly simple swap
DONT be sucked in by the GHz game, that stopped mattering around the 2 GHz mark
And if you're after a high level games machine, don't even think about looking in this price range... in fact, you need to spend around £300 on a graphics card ALONE!!
Upgrading a hard drive with these machines is a major job. Replacing the existing drive involves reformat, reinstall windows, drivers etc. which is beyond the scope of many PC users. Although with most machines it's relatively easy to add an additional hard drive, this particular model does not have a spare hard drive bay so you'd have to buy/make some kind of alternative holder, or get an adapter to use one of the optical drive bays. Very fiddly.
And it's true that clock speeds are meaningless now... Intel have even stopped using GHz, they now call their chips by model numbers, ie. the P4 355, and P4 560 etc.
For example, I have a PC being delivered next month which has an Athlon 64 3500+ processor... it runs at a clock speed just 2.2GHz, yet it outperforms a P4 3.4GHz processor. Maybe that's why Intel have switched to using model numbers...!

my pc hasnt come with the free printer either! Those of you that have phoned dell and got it refunded/sent out - could you pm me your order number to that I can use it as proof im not the only one. They keep refusing that it came with a printer and keep saying the pcs come with three offers (memory, tft, free delivery).
Do you have any contact details (number/person) who sorted this out for you?
