It was me who was looking for the £15 Winter Wonderglam set, but the BG deleted my post :(
I didn't want to fall foul of "the rules" so instead I have bought one off ebay (am waiting with bated breath to see if something terrible happens to me after I have "swapped personal information" with the seller!!!)
It was £18 (well £20 with postage) but I figured for the extra few quid it was worth it, I would probably have spent that much on petrol / parking whilst fruitlessly driving round different Boots's!!

It was aparently £50 originally so would have been £15 in the sale so that's pretty good, well done!

A few years back I was brought some Molton Brown hand wash, it was very nice but not worth the £18 cost in my opinion! I have kept the bottles & decant Baylis & Harding into them when they run down. The colour is much the same, the smell not quite as good but nice enough for me!
The M&B bottles still look good & It just goes to show how people are easily deceived by a brand name – they think I still buy the expensive stuff!
I’ll have to try the Aldi one now too...

My teenage sister was given a few Molton Brown gift sets by her school friends this, well Christmas just gone. Gifts for school friends have certainly changed since I was a teenager.

They can be ridiculously OTT. I'm aware of someone who received a pandora ring from a schoolfriend. They were aged 13 at the time. Recipient's Mum thought it completely OTT.

Sometimes though, it can just be a case of having a parent who's a savvy shopper. DD's gifts to friends included Zoella products and Jack Wills and EOS lipbalms. I hadn't paid full price for any of it and had broken sets down in order to stretch them out and reduce the individual per person cost.

Girls are def worse (IME). DS only ever cost me £1 in xmas presents for schoolfriends in his entire school and college life and that was only because his form did a £1 Secret Santa one year, otherwise he'd have cost me nothing. :D

Realised yesterday that this thread will soon be over and going to miss chatting. :( See you all on Boxing Day. :D

Bye, bye Storck. Thanks for all the tips.

I’ve recently bought Molton Brown before Christmas for gift for my mother but also bought some for myself. I bought the rhubarb and rose shower gel and you don’t need a lot of it like normal shower gel. I have used it for nearly 3 months now and it doesn’t look like I had used much at all. I’ve also bought some from the outlet as well. It’s goinf to last me a long time and I love the fragrance

Lavenderi saw that programme where they did the MB test, it was a guy who live himself wasn't it if I recall? I do like those programmes, the eat well for less ones make me laugh where they end up critising their usual brand, although of course half of it is completely contrived. Wouldn't make such good to if they hated all the swaps and stuck to all their usual brands :rotfl:

Caged well done on getting the set you wanted, even if it was fleabay, at least it I'll save you parking etc like you said.

Spendless that's a shame the thread will soon close...let's keep the sale chat going :D

Bye, bye Storck. Thanks for all the tips.

My mother does that, breaks stuff down and makes hampers that end up looking way more expensive than they cost to make(sis did gift a hamper that contained a few sale bought Yankee candles and a few £1 glass jar candles to a friend) My teenage brother and his friends clubbed together and went for dinner on the last day of term instead of doing presents :rotfl:It's all they seem to do when together anyway. My sister also reported friends buying concert tickets as gifts! Pandora is not cheap(even when on sale/offer) & to a 13yr old too! There are some lovely cheaper (still sterling silver) jewellery pieces out there as a less extravagant option. When I was their age, a lot of our gifts were of the novelty/useful/thoughtful/edible variety but not costing much-we had some good laughs with some of them.

I'm really pleased to discover they do a rhubarb fragrance. That's my favourite fruit fragrance, having bought a Rhubarb supermarket own brand handwash in a French supermarket a few years ago. You don't find Rhubarb scented many places, though Wilkos do a range. Once I have got through all my current stack of products, I may treat myself.

L'Occitane did a Rhubarb range though they do a lot of limited editions so prob no longer available.
Not a cheap range but as mentioned further up it does last longer so in the long run not as expensive as it first may seem.
I actually prefer L'Occitane to Molton Brown (as a treat of course!)
