I have so many - ahem! - beautiful and unloved things to remove, but the whole ebay thing fills me with dread. The charity shops do well from me, but I can't deny that the money would be useful.
I've never braved Fleabay; quite apart from it seems like an awful lot of work for not very great return once postage and fees are accounted for, but also I'm simply not strong enough mentally to cope with any nastiness, eg buyers trying it on saying stuff doesn't arrive/not what they expected etc etc. I just don't need that type of stress.(DS and I are much amused by that meme which sorts people into how long will they stay mad at you -
we are both Librans - i think it says 30 seconds, in our case it's stunningly accurate :rotfl:Honey_Bear wrote: »Glasses now binned? Or given to LW?
I am so pleased Devil Cat is continuing to stubbornly hang on; the little chap is truly amazing. Needless to say, vibes will continue for as long as he needs them. xIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I'm joining in with this 'make a significant sum of money for a particular purpose (specified) by flogging stuff' movement.
HOWEVER it needs a catchy name...
My personal target is 2K. I shall use ebay but I may also use the local FB selling page.
I am starting off with an unworn Superdry watch, which I have just splashed out on a new battery for, so that I can sell it as working. Man in watch shop agrees it's never been worn (it wasn't originally mine - you can probably guess who bought it and never wore it) so no emotional link there but better the sale goes 'under the radar'.
It's too big for me anyway.
Have been to town (hence watch battery purchase) and spent my £10 Argos gift card on new cloths for steam cleaner, plus batteries, to use up card. Hate that shop, 2 people taking money, two people dishing out goods, one person floating about 'helping' and the promise of purchase available 'instantly' when one has reserved on line (because one did) leads one to believe ' instant' means sometime within the next 45 minutes..
My target is £2K to spend on house improvements. Roof really. Currently at -£4.99.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Finished all my flying list for today. House is clean, tidy and smells of chocolate roulade
I made an executive decision not to bake a pavlova as I have about 30 meringue nests in the larder, so they will be fine with ice cream, raspberries and cream for anyone who doesn't like apple and blackberry crumble. Generally my family want both puddings!
DH has made me a cuppa, so I'm going to sit for an hour or so until DD and family arrive and night just zzzIt is holiday week, after all

Bedlinen washed and - ahem - tumble dried (tiny bungalow, I cannot have wet bedlinen strewn all over), mattress flipped - by both of us working togather - and bed remade with fresh bedlinen - by Mr LW :A
Ronnie wanted a l-o-n-g walkies this afternoon; we went right down as far as the 2nd bridge on the Redway, turned round and came back - and he then wanted to walk up the other way to the post box and back. I'm not going to tell him he can't; it's great that he wants to do all that exercise. He's spark out now, though.

Thanks Valli, and to Piggers for the idea. Listed some more bits on eBay so fingers crossed.
Oh gawd I forgot we will be subjected to fireworks tomorrow night, cannot stand them. On the plus side, party we were going to has been cancelled so we have a night in planned. Much cheaper and I’m less likely to drink too much at home (would drink loads at party as lots of people were going to be there I didnt know and I get nervous).MFW
