HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!lovin' this site!

Happy Birthday, Freespirit. hope you have a great day. Remember a couple of weeks ago l did a cake and cupcakes for a baby shower? well it didn't happen because the mum to be was admitted to hospital, so on Saturday night her mum decided that we would do it on the Sunday(yesterday) afternoon, and could l possibly...…. so of course l said 'no problem' and made another 30 cupcakes and a single tier cake. l amaze myself at times. The shower party was lovely though, so worth the effort. Considering the short notice, almost everyone was able to come.
DGS has just wandered through looking like a ghost, just woke up was sick and feels dizzy. he will have to stay off school at least this morning, l suppose.
Off to make coffee, need the caffeine to face the school receptionist and tell her. I know this is genuine, so why do l feel guilty?
have a good day, all. xx0 -

Happy Birthday FREE, hope you’re ok and have a fabulous day:bdaycake::bdaycake:
Welcome to the thread BESHKI, GLITTERNUT and JOYKNIGHTS and welcome back PATENTGIRL.
BESHKI I usually find chocolate is fine if you store it somewhere cool but like you we usually end up eating it way before Christmas and have to replace it so maybe somewhere hard to get at would be good.:D
MRSINVIS you definitely have superwoman tendencies. I’d have to plan for months to do that and even then it wouldn’t be good.
Well done on the pressie for MrV VULPIX (and on the one for you;))
Lovely to read all the Christmas chat and thanks for the advent calendar tips. I’m really feeling the need for a festive browse around the shops, I’m making lots of lists which is good but I’d like to start ticking things off now.
I’ve bought some little jump up toys for cracker pressies for the little ones, £2.49 for a pack of 12 from Amazon so I don’t care if they only last the afternoon. I also bought a set of 200 coloured led tree lights and a new phone charger and it didn’t cost anything because I got a £20 gift card when I took out a replacement credit card recently (forgot to use my old one so it wasn’t renewed when it expired). It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
_party_ HAPPY BIRTHDAY FREESPIRIT!!! _party_ I hope you have a fabulous day!
I’ve spent this morning wandering around the Christmas display at my local garden centre, it really lifted my spirits! I also found a lovely candle set for my auntie so that’s another present for the stash. Some of the shops start an extended returns period in October so I’ll be able to start buying more presents now without worrying that they can’t be returned if they’re not right.
Welcome to all the newbies!
CHRISSYG sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, I hope it all gets better soon.
Glitternut I love buying from Etsy when I can afford to, I love that I’m buying from someone with a small business and quite often the things are unique.
joyknights hello! It must be frustrating when you get paid right before Christmas. It’s a great idea to get started now though so you have a good idea of what you will need.
mrsinvisible you amaze me with all of things you manage to get done! Well done you and I’m sure they appreciated it. I always had a guilty feeling every time I called in sick even though I was genuinely sick!! Hope your DGS feels better soon.0 -
Happy Birthday Freespirit :jpixielott i go to Leeds annually with my mum, always end up (i say "end up" we pre-book it and it is the main reason we visit) in the alchemist, food is good but the cocktails are amazing. The Alchemist is good. Also the Botanist - food there is really lovely and they also so good cocktails (it’s just to the right of Trinity on the Boar Lane side) You’ll need to book either of those places well in advance. Also Stew and Oyster we really like, near the Calls. It’s a nice cosy little place, good hearty grub and really reasonably priced. Definitely recommend chaopraya if you like Thai, that’s just near to the dark arches. As for coffee & cake I’m actually not sure! I don’t tend to stay city centre for that type of thing so I’m afraid I can’t help you on that one, sorry!
Thankyou both so much for your helpI'll check them all out and let you know where we end up
I'm almost tempted to book another night so we can eat more places!
I am absolutely frozen today and being so far from productive I've decided to start my Christmas lists, and fallen at the first hurdle absolutely stumped on the boyfriend! He's so hard to buy for! Most of the things he likes I don't have a clue about... and the few things I do he is funny about being bought them for pressies, like he's been getting into cooking but would complain if I bought him anything cooking related would say it's boring :huh:anything's possible if you've got enough nerve
