Wow its suddenly become very busy on here!
Welcome all newbies and returnees alike.

This is the home stretch now- woohoo!
Im loving it that the Christmas goodies are starting to appear in the shops (I know not everyone feels the same) but it does make me feel all tingly when I see it.
Ive got a stash of matchmakers and whiskeys (special offers) stacking up in my wardrobe- if I get hungry or thirsty in the night I would be ok!
Ive got Dh's present sorted (and his birthday pressies as its his birthday early November), Ive bought him a ballpoint to match the fountain pen that we all chipped in for last year (and the pen saga was nearly the undoing of me I will admit!) and the kids and I have bought him a ticket to see England V Italy next year at Twickenham.
I think the kids will be having a cash present each as they don't really want anything in particular (28 and 22), although some of the whiskey selections are for DS and I have bought DD a limited edition Charlotte Tilbury make up set.
I bought my sis a small Kate Spade bag in the 60% summer sale and have been putting a little cash aside each week for her, She never has anything girly or just for her so I know she will appreciate it. I have even wrapped it so I cant dip into the cash in case I am tempted ! Im not keen on giving cash as presents but this year I think its the best way to go.
I really wish the weather would make up its mind, although I am enjoying the darker nights because it means I can light my candles and enjoy their twinkle .
    lovin' this site!

pixielott i go to Leeds annually with my mum, always end up (i say "end up" we pre-book it and it is the main reason we visit) in the alchemist, food is good but the cocktails are amazing.

The Alchemist is good. Also the Botanist - food there is really lovely and they also so good cocktails (it’s just to the right of Trinity on the Boar Lane side) You’ll need to book either of those places well in advance. Also Stew and Oyster we really like, near the Calls. It’s a nice cosy little place, good hearty grub and really reasonably priced. Definitely recommend chaopraya if you like Thai, that’s just near to the dark arches. As for coffee & cake I’m actually not sure! I don’t tend to stay city centre for that type of thing so I’m afraid I can’t help you on that one, sorry!

I won’t have a job in a couple of weeks as I am leaving due to to us relocating. I am not usually organised but am trying to get together as much as possible before my income disappears. People who buy chocolate in advance, does it keep ok? And where is best to store it? Chocolate doesn’t last 2 mins in my house usually lol!

Sorry I've been away again for a few days, I had some additional paid work to do in my evenings this week. So it was yet another crazy busy week!

I have managed to get a few more bits for Christmas though...

I've bought some hot sauces for my OH from h0mesense £2.50 in their clearance for the set of 3
A big beer smelling (hopefully nice!) Baylss+Harding shower gel for my dad - this was on clearance in Mr T for £2.60ish, it came in a nice bag style package too..
I've ordered some wrapping paper from Wilk0 too, so hopefully will pick that up soon
I also ordered two Yardley L0ndon hand creams in cracker shaped boxes from B0ots as they were just £1 each, just checked and unfortunately these are now sold out I'm afraid
I also managed to get a nice hand scrub in a little goodie bag giveaway at our local shopping centre this weekend, so that will go to mum!

So a few more things... think I need to ramp up the buying though, as we're away for a lot of December and I keep getting worried I won't have everything sorted by the end of November which is my plan! Think I'll look at Superdrug as the prices have reduced a bit on their pressies...

Have a lovely week ahead everyone! :)

Hope you feel better soon and news is good

Our Home Bargains have the bin bags but there was a big notice on the shelf saying the ones packaged as sprout bags contained pudding ones - so all pudding bags in ours. Not sure if it's a whole supplier issue or just an odd batch.

I'm getting mithered with myself now that Christmas shopping seems to have slowed down :rotfl: like to be sorted by end of October if I can be so best finish off.

Thank You for all caramac info.

Went to an antiques fair today.Got a cufflinks set with the same stone as his wedding ring for Mr V.Unheard of for me to find a gift for him. Also bought myself a nice silver bracelet whilst I was at it.

I think I drove past the Denby place in the summer and then forgot all about it again,I must go. Nasty illness Chrissy, hope you are over the worst now.

Does anyone live in Lincolnshire? We are possibly going to move there.Maybe next year,if we sell here.

  • I've got some Christmas-themed washi tape off Etsy, so with brown paper for wrapping and some gift tags I bought in the sales last year I think I can tick the prep for that side off the list!

It's nice to hear someone mention etsy (I sell on there) it's still not that well known in the UK and it definately should be - I spend more than I earn on there most months (oops), can't beat handmade.

Just wanted to pop on and see what bargains people had spotted as I'm off into town tomorrow, definately need the chocolate oranges from Sainsburys.
Need wrapping paper too (generic & christmas) has anyone spotted anything really beautiful? Im thinking red & gold xmas theme this year.

Dd1 is 18 on Tuesday  gosh I feel old, then it's dd2's 11th next week  so I'm getting plenty of wrapping practice in ready for Christmas.
  • I did some last minute shopping last year and I don't want to experience it again. So as early as now I am taking down notes on which gift to purchase and for whom. I will also be conducting a Christmas party for all my cousin we are thinking about either booking a restaurant before Christmas day or just do it at home. I have also check on my old Christmas decor and is planning to do some decorating in November. I don't think I will be able to bake some goodies for this year since it is taking too much of my time so I am planning to visit a local store and just purchase some for my niece. I just really hope that my paycheck will be earlier than last year since I got mine like a day before Christmas and there are only a few options left.
