I was expecting to slow down in the hotter weather but I have adjusted the times I go out to stay away from the hottest part of the day and found that I am doing more than ever

I have in the last couple of years tried local transport a number of times and have got comfortable doing so.
I am now minded to buy a senior card that would give me, for an upfront fee, unlimited use.
I feel that will further my use of public transport and UP my step count and therefore increase my mobility AND fitness.
It would also reduce my use of a car.
    Has anyone done something similar?

Not using public transport but I have been leaving the car at home more over the last 3 years.
I now walk to the shops (3 mile round trip) to the doctor or dentist (5miles) even hospital appointments are done on foot (12 miles).
I still take the car for my 'big' shopping of the week but that is a rare event, it's just when I need to get something that would be too heavy to carry home in my rucksack.

My parents go everywhere on the bus using their bus pass. Its quite rare that they actually use their cars.

    Do they measure their steps?

No, they don't but they both do sport and stuff anyway so any steps would probably not mean a lot compared to that.

A bit later but here are my numbers for July

    Distance - 348.6mls
    Ascent - 16,716ft
    Energy - 52,800kcal
    Biggest day - 16.29mls
    Shortest day - 7.28mls
    Total active time - 149hours
  • Well I seem to have really gone off the boil and I need to get in the habit of coming here every week to update as I lose track.
The week that I did 4.25 miles isnt really accurate. My strap on fitbit broke so i didnt use it whilst waiting for a new one. Combination of the heat, parent being very ill in hospital and general laziness is to blame. I WILL complete this challenge!!

    38.11

    49.55

    4.25

    23.20

Total of 115.11 miles to add.
    Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £60
