  • Evening all! Lovely quiet day here. Few plans went out the window, I didnt end up cooking dinner just ate snacks (Sainsbos basics brie is a winner!), and didn't have a NSD. Dinner will just be made tomorrow instead, nothing thrown out, i'm not scared of floppy veg.

I needed some liquid for my e cig (I know, I'm in the naughty corner) and was going to pop into town tomorrow to get some. I thought I'd just check online to see if I had enough loyalty points to get free delivery to save the trip, and found I'd over £10 in loyalty points. I have no idea how, I should have only had about two or three pounds! Plus they were doing free delivery and 15% off for boxing day so I placed an order and ended up spending £7.83 on what should have been £20.00. Reet touch! That will last me a good few weeks, I'm going to try and cut down / cut out the vaping this year so lets see how long I can make it last. This leaves £20 in the pot until 1st Jan.

Had something sell on ebay, and also a small cash out from the surverys so made another little payment on the CC.

Been a very positive few days on the money front. Small, dinky steps but feel like it's actually made a great difference, especially in my mindset.

And now for more baileys, which isnt even baileys it's a cheapo version that tastes the same, and probably an early night.

Hope you all are enjoying the evening :)

  • Morning all. Rubbish weather today, no snow but it's trying! Rubbish enough for me to put off the trip tp the post office and a run, lots of tea and hopefully surveys today instead. Was a quiet day yesterday hopefully they will pick up a bit today. Had to put the heating on this morning to take the edge off, it's bitter! Alos had a look at a christmas present I got of smellies as was thinking about selling on, but it actually contains shower gel, deodarant and lip balm all of which I will use so pleased with that!

    Todays Plan
:starmod:Eat from stores, check dats on stuff in fridge
:starmod:Actually make dinner and eat a meal rather than just snacks
    :starmod:NSD
    :starmod:Surveys
    :starmod:Washing
    :starmod:Not leave the house

Nothing too exciting, another day indoors to survey and craft. Best make the most of it, still have some brie and baileys left. Happy Crimbo Limbo.

Hey Elly, thanks for dropping in! Honestly i hadn't done much ebay for about 3 years, and no, it doesn't sell as well. I think it's to do with royal mail costs, after all 99p for a top but £2.90 P&P on top of that makes it not so cheap. And the ebay and paypal fees just kill any 'profits'. I'd say if you're selling stuff that's not going for a pound or two it's more worth it. Otherwise it's a bit labour intensive. Lots of people I know have had far more luck on facebay and Bootsale apps, but i'm too scared to meet strangers face to face to hand over the goods, sad I know. I'm a big worry cat.

Todays Plan - Not quite going to plan... again....

:starmod:Eat from stores, check dats on stuff in fridge - So far so good, but something was mouldy and shouldn't have been as it's use by date was Feb! I've sent a complaint e mail so will see what happens....

:starmod:Actually make dinner and eat a meal rather than just snacks - Later, maybe :rotfl:

:starmod:NSD - ugh! My e cig broke. I thought about just jacking it in but was too late to cancel the order I placed yesterday so brave the cold to get a replacement part. £9.99 out of the weekly budget.

:starmod:Surveys - Got accepted and completes a panel for £5.00 but won't be paid until Jan 12th. Sites are still slow going...

    :starmod:Washing - ummmmmm
:starmod:Not leave the house - Not leaving the house anymore.

  • Made the veggie paella and ate an actual meal. Yay! Used up past its best veg have enough for tomorrow nights dinner too.

I was meant to be going to stay with a friend tomorrow for a few days but it's been cancelled. Actually, the whole friendship has been cancelled. I'm fed up of not fitting in to their life and feeling like I have to 'beg' to see them. So that's done. I'm determined to have a better 2018 than 2017 and if that means being selfish with my friendhiop and efforts I will be. I'm a bit sad, but I think I have seen it coming for the last few months.

So tomorrow I'm going to replace the mouldy stuff, post my ebay parcel, go for a run, and cook something that involves oats and bananas that are past their best. Christ knows what but it will be an adventure haha.

No cash out on surverys or ebay sales today so no more debt payments. Fingers crossed for a few quid tomorrow.

  • Something cake based? Banana muffins. Banana flapjacks. Yoghurt with toasted oats and bananas. Banana pancakes. We had banana and custard tonight to use the ripe ones up.
  • I love banana custard! I haven't had that since I was tiny. Thanks for the great ideas, I've settle on banana flapjack cookie things as it's all from stores. I just need to gather the energy to do it now, I've had a bit of a morning.....

Needed to pop to the aldeee and post office today. Woke up nice and early thought I'd walk down and get it out the way with. Packed the parcel, put it by the door, only took my spending card and walked the twenty minutes to the shops. Website says post office opens at 9:00, post office says it opens at 9:30. No probs, Aldee first. Get stuff, get to check out, realise I've picked up a bag of dirty undies from the weekend and not my ebay parcel :rotfl:Never mind, parcel tomorrow. Thank god I saw before I got to the post office. Pay for shopping, Card declined. Now I know there's money in it......

Call bank. Half hour later they still don't know why and can't unblock it. I've only got that card because that's got my weekly spend in it and I didn't want to be tempted. I have to abandon shopping, walk home, pick up another card (and parcel) and end up driving back in to town. I left the food in the shopping bag (complete with the washing) and I didn't want to put it back because....

    Pork shoulder £2
    4x 500g Mince 75p each
2x bags of parsnips 13p each
    And 19p broccoli and carrotts

    AMAZING!

Then the woman behind the till puts something through 4 times so I had to get a refund. Posted the parcel. Drove home, 2 hours later..... But I do have about enough meat for about 16 meals in my freezer, the parcel went through as a large letter, and I found a penny on the floor. :) I wasn't meant to buy food but it wouldn't have been right to not at those prices. And I had weekly spends left. I never get YS stuff, especially not there, and I passed up the steaks which is a bit of a win. I'm tempted to go look again tomorrow if i'm up early enough, still have £6 weekly spends left and meat at that price doesnt come along often.

    So today:

    :starmod:WASHING
    :starmod:Dinner last nights l/os
    :starmod:Surveys
    :starmod:Bake banana flapjacks

Have a good day all x

  • Just out of interest, what does everyone else do with YS? Stock up when you see it even if it means spending more than you planned or just let it pass?
