  • Had a meltdown at work this morning. If anyone has any advice on how to not care about negative people you work with please let me know. I love some elements of my job, and if I leave I won't get the flexibility or salary I have now, but my god I'm close to the edge.

Planned spends today of food shop. Lets see if we can keep it in budget now the freezer is full and the store cupboard has things in it. Dentist appointment, and I feel like a bit of a smug Karen because I now go to the dentist for regular check ups and have the cash ready like a real, proper, functioning adult.

Weird week coming up, I'm going to spend a few days at my place starting to sort things properly for the move, hopefully! We spoke last night and have both agreed that me going home is a bit of a downer, and we think we are ready to take the next step confidently now, so unless anything major happens between now and Monday, my 4 weeks notice will be in on Monday. Then the real fun and games of proper moving house begin!

Payday tomorrow, and I've messed up this months figures. I have no idea how, I need to check the calculations on my trusty spreadsheet, because my trusty spreadsheet has failed me! It looks like I will have actually increased my debt by £4 this month. I won't, because I'll transfer some money from somewhere to make sure the month hasn't been a negative, but argh. So frustrating to go from a really positive £400 month to a negative increase month. But, after tomorrow, only one more payday until my bills change significantly and I should be seeing much, much higher numbers.

    Happy Thursday x

Ugh. Le sigh. Positives and negatives from the last month.

Lets start with the bad.
    • Tiny reduction on debt
    • Trusty Spreadsheet not trusty
    • Got hit with a bunch of interest because I dropped the ball on 0% CC
    • Which lead to a balance transfer fee
    • I spent £70 on impulse spends that were not budgeted for

    And the good: :D
    • Overall, total debt has gone down this month
    • I returned most of the wool
    • I didn't increase my debt
    • £20 increase in my LISA
    • I've now passed the £5000 paid mark :T

    And next months objectives:
    • Minimum payments (done!)
    • Surveys for some extra holiday spending money
    • Fund the move without credit card
    • DO NOT USE THE CREDIT CARD
    • No buying wool

  • So in normal news! Food shop last night would have been in budget if it wasn't for a tiny booze top up (1x wine for me 4x beers for him), so we went £8 over, which is completely fine and will be negated next week.

Dentist was horrific. I've been to this one twice now and thought they were having an off day before, but I left in tears for the second time in a row. I need to find someone who is nervous patient friendly, because it's making me not want to go. I was a state. And my gums are so bruised today. Is a nervous patient friendly dentist even a thing on the NHS? I hope so... Good news is even though I was butchered, it only fell into the £22.70 band.

Planned spend again today, some parking and a few drinks at a show tonight. Tickets were only £5 and paid for months ago, should spend no more than £15 tonight.

Had a heart to heart with work, and hopefully have put some process in place so I don't meltdown and walk out anytime soon.

OH is out all day tomorrow so I get a day to myself to watch trash TV and sew. YAY! Sunday we are planning holiday itinerary, so should be a relatively low spend weekend. If I can keep it below £25 it's winner winner. Happy Friday and payay all!

  • It's done :) Notice is in and I am officially moving! Landlord took it really well, and will be calling later today to let me know a date for handover. I've had a productive morning finding an end of tenancy cleaner and booking a furniture collection. Let the clear out commence!

Weekend was pretty cheap, £23 on Friday and nothing since. Show was great, and had an extra drink whilst we were there. Had a lovely quiet day with my sewing on Saturday then spent 8 hours solid holiday planning yesterday, 6 weeks to go, eek!

Back home to mine tonight for a few nights to start the clear out, slept terribly last night so really not looking forward to it, but will be back at boy house later in the week. Planning a NSD today. Happy Monday all!

  • Morning all! Yesterday didn't end up being a NSD. I got toothbrush heads, plugs and a small pot of white gloss from fleabay, through £co to get the £2.50 bonus. All bits I needed, especially the gloss as I discovered that somehow the ornaments on my mantle have left some discolouration when I moved them. Most strange but easy enough to fix. So planned spends, just not planned for the day.

So last night I went back to mine and started the actual clear out. Whilst I've moved some stuff over already for the trial, I hadn't actually cleared much, so it needed starting. I managed to strip the bedroom and the kitchen of all of the things to donate and tip. Tip and charity shop visited this morning before work so feeling very productive. My flat doesn't feel like mine anymore, it's becoming empty and echoey and not at all homey. More of the same tonight instead this time it's loading the car with things to move over, so the last of the clothes, some kitchen bits to keep and if there's room, the supply of toiletries that I accumulated last year by playing the system a bit with some supermarket vouchers. I think I'll only need two more evenings to finish it off next week, then everything will be moved and I'll only need to go back to let the cleaner in.

Also did a bit of pot jiggery pokery, and have laid out what I need to find/pay off before the end of the year. Much easier to order now I know what the move will cost. Not hugely impressed with the £70 exit fee from my broadband provider. More impressed with the clean being quoted at £130. I thought it would be more! TBH the flat is clean (we won’t mention the oven… but that’s included in the cost!), I just need proof of a pro doing it for the tenancy stuff.

Feel much more settled and ordered about everything now, and a little less limboey - although I can’t wait until it’s all done and dusted and deposit is sorted and All That Jazz. Landlord still hasn’t called to confirm a handover date, even though I’ve text him this morning and he said he would. It’s great that he’s so laid back but I NEED TO PLAN!

In actual money news, FINALLY got above a pound on quidco so can cash out. Stuff seems to be talking actual forever to come through on there at the moment, I've got things that were estimated in August that still haven't come through, so was quite happy with the £4.35 finally showing up. Also managed a £1.57 cash out on QMEE, so some extra pennies for the holiday spending pot.

Defo in for a NSD today! Happy Tuesday x
