  • It would be amazing if everyday were like that! Shame it's not :)

Yesterday was the longest day, up and out at 4:30am and didn't get in till 10pm. Work travel hurts sometimes! But on the plus side it was a very firm NSD, as everything was expensed. Another NSD today on the cards as working from home, not planning on even getting dressed properly and very much not leaving the house.

Spag bol for dinner tonight, and the fridge is starting to look a little empty for fresh bits, so I think a fresh shop will be required tomorrow. Freezer is staring to fill up with 'home made ready meals' nicely. It's a bit strange getting back into the habit of meal planning and shopping for two, it's much easier this time round as OH is not a passive bystander. I quite like it!

Got work tasks mounting up but will try and find a little QMEE time somewhere, and tonight is a very early night I think, I'm worn out!

No plans as yet for the weekend, should be a cheap one, but that will be the last for a while as lots of socials planned for October. I'm actually looking forward to the end of this month to see how well my finances have panned out, I'm on target for a £400 debt reduction which will be a cracking month for me.

    Happy hump day all x

  • Happy Friday!

Yesterday ended up being a spend day, I got the outfit. Bit annoyed that I caved, no real excuse, but at least I won't be the only one in normal clothes, and it was £20, and I've gone for something that I will wear again. If it doesn't fit though it's being sent back and I will just wear jeans lol.

Working from home again today and taking back some time. Need a little Aldi tonight to top up, an then it's the weekend! Yay! OH has suggested going out for food tomorrow, his round, so that'll break up the weekend a bit. Other than that, no plans.

Didn't manage any PA or QMee yesterday, must try harder today. The expenses covered the dress though, so still on target for a £400 month, as long as I don't do anything stupid when Aldi release their wool :)

  • Need to reign it in on NSD's at the moment. Weekend ended up being more expensive than planned. Went over budget on wool, over budget with drinks, and put myself back by about £80 this month. Annoyed at myself a bit, and considering just returning the wool as soon as it's delivered. Stupid wool. I love the stuff. Ugh.

NSD yesterday and a claim for petrol expenses in, so that will mitigate a little of the weekend damage. Quiet week ahead, need to get some washing tablets and coffee as we are on last dregs of both. Freezer still filling slowly, and I estimate that once we've got the 'store essentials' (Which were lacking in boy house) then we will be on course for a really frugal grocery budget. OH has even started taking his lunch in every day :A

Dress turned up but haven't had a chance to try it on yet....

Cheeky little cash out from PA again, and only one more weekend until payday. Happy Tuesday

  • Dress fitted, so it stays. It's actually really lovely, and very much something I will wear again, so whilst it was a spend it wasn't as frivolous as I thought it might have been.

Another spend day yesterday, coffee, washing tabs and fairy up from B&M. Trying hard for a NSD today, I HAVE to have at least one this week!

Expenses not yet paid.... should be in tomorrow, along with the wool delivery which I am still in two minds about keeping. Maybe I will keep what I had budgeted for and return the rest. Once I've got those two bits sorted and the weekend spends done with, I'll have a better idea of what the debt payment will be this month.

Hump day and the weekend can not come fast enough. I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with OH this weekend, we have a show on Saturday which we need to get a train ticket for, and a freebie day out on Sunday so only need to pay for food/drink whilst there. Hope it stays sunny for Sunday so the dress doesn't get ruined :)

    Feels like groundhog day today....

  • I can't believe it's only Wednesday, feels like someone chucked at least two extra Tuesdays into this week.

I just forgot what Homer's voice sounded like and read it in my head in a yoda voice. What a lemon ha!
You couldn't be more spot on with the extra Tuesdays. Work is a complete drag at the moment, i'm just finding it so uninspiring, and every day feels so long!

I'm in a weird place at the moment, I'm almost moved, at the starting gates for the next chapter in my life, but still feel just so blah. I have no idea why, I'm actually pretty content right now, I just feel, I dunno. Meh. Maybe a bit limbo-ey. *shrug* I've found myself just staring at the spreadsheets and beating myself up over £80. I need to have a word with myself I think, I worked very hard to get the debt/life balance right, and I had it, but now I seem to be chomping at the bit to just get on with getting it clear, even though I know there still isn't a massive rush and I don't need to beat myself up about ANY of this.

Sorry - word vomit, but I suppose that's what diaries are here for :)

  • So yesterdays disaster was a broken (beyond repair) backpack. Pulled into Primarni for a new one, £10. However, this is the third cheap one in a year, and I'm considering the merit of buying something better quality when this one breaks. If anyone has any recommendations, please de lurk and let me know, I think I would be happy to spend more if it actually lasted.

Sun is shining and I'm a little happier this morning I think. Need to aldi tonight, weekly shop plus what I think will be the last lot of store cupboard stuff for boy house, then I'll be set for ages and the grocery spend can settle down a bit. Might throw in a £3.67 bottle of wine because it's been a really long week and it's actually really decent wine :rotfl:

Need to try and find time to do my nails tonight, still doing my own gels :money:

Might try and see if I can sneak out of work early following a meeting, wish me luck....

    Happy Thursday MSE land x

  • Expenses in! Wahoo! Food shop done last night, no wine, go me. Managed to it almost exactly on budget (£1 over!) Including the store cupboard stuff and two lots of freezer meat. Winner. WFH today, so NSD, quiet evening in with OH and weekend starts. Thank goodness!

I have decided that when we decide if I'm going to be moving in to boy house permanently, (or not!) I'm gong to start a new diary. The next chapter. It feels right because it will be a new budget, and the next step. I'll be closing the living alone on a tight budget diary, and opening up the living together throw money at my future diary, or, i'll be settling in for the long haul with no wiggle room. We should have made our decision by the end of this month. Limbo Jimbo, but we need to make sure we are doing the right thing for us. Even if no one actually reads this, ha.

Fingers crossed and purses zipped for a NSD today. Happy Friyay!

  • Monday. Ugh. ZZZZZ. So tired! Weekend was busy, cheap ish and lovely. Few unexpected spends, like the fact the rail card needed renewing so that was £15, we had to get some food on Saturday because I was Hangry, £4.50, and ended up with a Kebab and friends over last night after the event, so £9. Apart from that almost everything went to plan, but my word I'm falling asleep at my desk today. I'm too old for all this activity haha.

Friday's disaster was that I hadn't realised my credit card needed a shuffle this month, not next, so have been whacked with interest and a fee to transfer, taking my planned £400 month down to almost eff all. Wonderful. I'm not stressing about it, I'm trying to remain stoic. Just annoyed at myself for not being diligent enough with the dates, I thought I'd kept my eye on it but dropped the ball, obviously.

In other news, OH got me a little 'Maybe, probably moving in present' this weekend, so it looks like we are still both in agreement that it's working, which is great. Was really nice to have him not working this weekend, and getting to fun stuff with him for what feels like the first time in ages.

Was planning a NSD but I'm so tired, which for me means SO HUNGRY! I've already eaten half my lunch, and I haven't got anything extra here with me so I might have o go out on a forage if I end up eating all my lunch before actual lunchtime. Piggle. Nothing planned now apart from work work work until Friday evening, then we have some £5 tickets to a music event. Ker-ching! Cheap night out :) Also Payay this week, so will be able to tot up the totally rubbish totals for this month. Stupid credit cards.

    Happy Monday all x

  • Morning morning morning! Happy Wednesday MSE land. NSD yesterday, yay. And all I need to spend today is £1 on some salad. And it's payday on Friday.

Totals for the month are looking really bad. The CC transfer fee has hit, and it looks like my total debt repayment for last month will be about £70. Pretty rubbish, but at least it's in the downward direction. I returned most of the wool, and good job too.

Going to take some time today to play around with new budgets for after the move. This payday and next payday I'm going to pay minimums only, so that I have cash available for moving stuff. Van, compulsory clean (grrrr! Don't even get me started on this total waste of money!) garden needs a tidy, extra petrol for trips back and forth, and all that jazz. I think I will need to pay to exit my broadband deal too, but I haven't got my head around what it is actually going to cost yet so I will just pay minimums next month and keep as much available as I can to cover it. It's all getting a little real and exciting :)
