Oh Joey, you're amazing :) your post really did make me smile. I wasn't mean I'm just a pain and a bit of a handful when I'm that drunk. I'm pretty sure the missing £7 was the chip money, but who knows. As I said, live and learn, I haven't done it for years and I'm in NO rush to do it again any time soon. I feel like a recurring theme on my diary is, 'I know I was bad, but, it could have been a lot worse!' :D

So an okay day today, got just over £5 in cash out. Made a really significant contribution to a work discussion today with some important people which I think has given me some serious brownie points. So that's always good. Spent £20 on petrol and £1 on hummus for lunch because I forgot to make some before I left this morning. Hangover shame seems to have gone in the main.

Almost gym time, hoping for a semi decent workout given the state of me but even if I only do twenty minutes it's better than nothing. Then spag bol and bed ready for work and a mini adventure tomorrow. Hope everyone has had a lovely day xx

Ooh adventures are always fun, even mini ones.
Did 3 tiny surveys on Curious Cat whilst waiting for an appointment and pulled out £2.10 so might keep it for dull times when I have just my phone to while away a little time. And managed to do my $2/day on Slice the pie when I got in. Hoping to get a few more surveys and things done whilst cooking dinner but can't grumble at that as I've not had much spare time today.
Glad you're feeling better - lots of water with that workout.

Still can't beat the time I arrived home with no shoes, no keys, no coat and threw up all over the bed. I was in my early twenties and that hangover lasted three days  I have found as I get older I am pretty restrained, I drove on Friday night as I had so much to do on Saturday and I knew if I was drinking that would be the whole day gone. We normally go out every few months to a friend's house, I waver then between sticking to one drink and being good, to drinking ALL the alcohol :rotfl::beer: and boy do I pay for it the next day, and the next :rotfl:

But :money: for basically not saying sod it and spending money on all sorts. These days it isn't just the danger of wasting money when out, there is the added element of coming home and buying stuff on line. I have only done this once. My husband did it last time, woke up to an email from Amazon prime saying his delivery would be arriving, he had no recollection of ordering it :rotfl:

Forgot to post a new thingy for you. I've been doing this one for a while but I just potter on and off it and make a few pence a day and don't really think about it until £20 lands in my account.
Cashbackearners - you can do lots of things and get points for them but all I really do is click on their emails and make 10-25p per day (1p per email click but it takes seconds a few times a day). If you use my referral, and you don't have to, I'll get the equivalent of £5 when you've saved the equivalent of £10 in addition to the £6.50 you get for signing up. It pays out at £20 into your bank account or paypal, or you can get shopping cards from £20 upwards.

  • Hey Treadingonplaymobil, thanks for popping in! It's crazy isn't it! I don't know if it's just the caffeine or a combination of that and the sugar for me, probably both, but the headaches are a killer! I caved yesterday and had a diet coke and some biscuits, almost automatically without thinking then was like, doh. Why did I even do that I didn't need it... Grr. Bad Coffee! It'll be fine though just a minor blip. And after having slept on the loan thing, I'm happy. It's an extra payment a month i'll be making, but the total payment will be the same it's just to two different places. So makes me no better or worse off in the short term, but is saving a fair whack in the long term. Surprised at the limit of the card though given how much debt I am already in, it's scary how much people will lend!

This is so true! When I applied for my CC I thought I would get offered a £1k or £2k limit but they offered me a whopping £5K on a not massive income. I thought they had to be more careful nowadays?!

Oh no, sorry to hear this :(

I used to be a regular (heavy) drinker, for all the wrong reasons (blocking out emotions). Then, I did dry January one year which turned into an 18 month adstinence. Best thing I ever did as it showed me I could cope without alcohol. I rarely drink now - I know that if I did I would end up buying stuff/food I didn't need and going overboard.

I'm not saying you have an issue with alcohol by the way lol, just went off talking about my personal experience :o

Alcohol dis-inhibits us so much we end up throwing caution to the wind :o

I hope you are now through the hangover. Back to money saving mode for you!
  • You lot <3 Thank you all :D

The shame has almost left, the gym last night knocked the last bit of hangover out of me thankfully. All back to normal now. I'm usually really very very good at knowing my limits, just that was wine drunk and me and wine drunk is another level. It's got to be about three years since I was that drunk! And I know what you mean about the eff it moments that ruin the diet and bank balance in that state, so glad I escaped them :D

Work project is go, so that means little to no down time now, only just got to grab 5 seconds and a bite to eat! It all started very abruptly this morning so today has been manic, but leaving slightly early for the mini adventure. Just need train tickets everything else is on the boy! Probably be a late night, but no booze for me haha.

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday, i'll try and check in a little earlier tomorrow xx

  • Afternoon all!

A really busy bee day at work today, but I'm all smiles. The mini adventure last night turned out to be a big one because instead of doing what I thought we were doing (a boring favour that would have been 'alright'), the boy surprised me with tickets to a show that I really wanted to see! I couldn't believe it, I was over the moon excited child so, so, so happy. It did mean that I spent more than anticipated with thank you drinks and snacks on top of the train fair, but once in a lifetime amazing. I'm on cloud nine today, I can't believe how thoughtful he can be :D

So no chance at all for any surveys for the last few days. Works got me running round, which I suppose is how it should be. Ebay contacted me about the fee's I'm in credit, and offered a refund so that's on it's way, and £3.05 cleared on quidco to pay. Just made the overpayment on my loan today. It's messed up my spreadsheet a bit, as the cash transfer fee is adding to the debt in the short term, so my month end round up isn't going to be the prettiest, but I'd rather it happened this month, when I know payment will be low, rather than next month after the pay rise which I'm kind of seeing as my first real big payback month.

Got my last vape stuff of the month, looks like I've gone £1 ish over budget. And need a teeny weeny food top up for fruit.

Gym tonight - I'm worn out after last night so spag bpol and early night.

    Happy Wednesday all xx
