oddly Asda nearly always have the galbani mozzarella balls in the YS shelf. I often get them, though I'm not often in Asda these days.

  • OOO that's handy to know! I'm not really near an Asda but will pop in next time I pass.

Quiet night last night, gym dinner bed. Quiet day planned today, going to try and motivate myself to concentrate on the extra pennies today and not just craft all day which is what I really fancy doing. Going to head to the shops for the 'weekly' shop later tonight. Got a list, must stick to it, should come in at under £10. I was rubbish last week and had to 'top up' twice, bad planning. But it only cost £2.25 as used nectar points, so not too dire.

Cashed out a whopping £1.64 yesterday, so another little chip at MBNA. Takes the total overpayment this month to £50 ish, so can't grumble as it all adds up!

    Happy Saturday xx

  • Happy Saturday to you, and good luck with the YS hunt. That collection is lasting you nicely so it was money well invested.

Taking the more scenic route on your journey is a personal choice. The risk of too tight a control is that you wobble, have a splurge and end up spending far more than your fun pot anyway and get into that spiral of being cross with yourself. Far more enjoyable to do it your way as long as you can afford to service your debts.
  • Thanks redo, the freezer is still jam packed, have still got all the fish and weeks of meat left so I think it was a good investment overall.

That's a really good explanation. I'm not a particularly social person as a rule, but there are a few people I love spending time with, and when we do, it's time that matters. It's not like I'm out every weekend, I turned down another invite for today which would have been a £40 spend at least, in favour of saving the money for the end of the month, which is a person and time I will enjoy more. And I know me, I know I can't shut myself off completely because my mental health will suffer. Thanks for the affirmation that I'm doing okay and making good choices, it really is good to have constructive support.

  • Shopping done! Did a double dash to Mr S and Aldi, all the bits I need for next week (unless I get a surprise dinner guest!) for £6.75. BOSH! No YS. Total food spend for this week is a nice round £9.00, and the treat this week is a packet of cookies.

Nothing much to report today, has a cash out on the surveys but waiting for it to process, so no dinks in MBNA unless that goes through before bed. Time to sew now!

    Happy Saturday all x

  • Wow I wish my shopping was as low as yours. Boo to no yellow stickers though but not sure you need anymore with your full freezer!

Happy sewing. I'm updating my spreadsheet and then knitting in front of the TV. What am exciting Saturday night :rotfl:

  • Just read through your diary. Well done on buying the YS meat...brilliant for freezing. What a relief for you that the money from the ex came in....must have been a weight off your mind.

Good luck with the debt busting,

  • Thanks lovely!

Plans went off the rails again this weekend. I left the hunt through the flat for Sunday for stuff to sell, then got invited round a friends on Sunday so ended up being out all day. No spends though, but it's my take away round next :)

So, scores on the doors for last week:
    Food spend - £9.00
    Other spends (vape) - £10.00
Petrol - £0.00 - Eeeked last weeks out for one more journey

    Fun pot - £22.42
    Emergency Pot - £22.45
    Overpayment on MBNA - £40.96

And still no credit card use. Yipee!

Few things planned this week that I will need to spend on. I have a dinner out which I have the budget for (worky thing, can't really get out of it), and a train ticket which will be about £5/6. It's going to be a tight week next week so main focus this week is on nectar points, it's kinda like earning free food :D

So what could have been doom and gloom last week actually ended up proper positive. Happy Monday all xx
