So it's all done. Much jiggery pokery involved. Good news and bad news.

Car total covered without the need for a CC. PHEW!

Whilst jiggery pokery was happening I discovered an error in the calculation on my spreadsheet of debts. My total debt is £26097.26. Not good, I was just over 1k out, huff. So a breakdown in order of importance:

    MBNA: £2263.68
    BC: £5841
    ZOPA:£9992.58
    MA:£8000

So that's the bad news. Good news. Car was covered partly by warranty, half the work done today but did throw up some additional stuff needed so will be going back in later in the month, but it's not going to cost me anymore, I have it in writing too. Good news, I found the error today, not last week when it might have sent me over the edge.

More good news, my pots are back as there was some money left over! YES!!!!

    Emergency pot: £20.00
    Fun Pot: £19.97

AND - a payment made on MBNA for £39.96, I'm back on the move! I'm so so happy. It's been a stagnant week whilst holding my breath over the car, but now I can really plough on. Same plan as before, any extras split 3 ways, 1/2 on MBNA, 1/4 Emergency and 1/4 fun pot. That's the plan until March payday when I can start contributing to all of the budget pots properly.

Decided on Mr S, spent £2.50 points and 25p cash. Woop!

Feeling focused and relieved in equal measures now! So glad it's done, and so glad I won't be in this position again.

Happy Thursday all, I hope it's been kind to everyone.
    xx

  • Good news the car work was covered without the need for a credit card. That's amazing. Not so good it's got to go in again but at least you don't have to pay.

Oh bad news on the debt add up but as you say good job you found after the car news.

And :j to the fun pot being back!

Honestly, I'm obviously gutted it's not under 25, but I'd rather know now. Today was the day to find it because rather than being devastated, I'm just so chill after the whole car thing. It's all good, it's another month ot two max, it's just spurred me on to work harder.

Fun pot is a weird one, I feel proper guilty putting money in it but I KNOW I need money for the time off. The suggestions of activities have thrown up a few things that won't be particularly frugal, and I know that people reading this will think, 'Just don't do it', and 'You don't deserve it', but it's happening, I'm trying to pay in cash not credit, surley that's a good thing. I'm paying the bills, paying the debts, albeit slowly right now, and am being hermit like at every opportunity. Fun pot is on :D

Happy dances all round in the coffee house tonight :D

  • Morning all, good to see you Meena :)

    It's FRIDAY!!!!! Happy Friday all.

Nothing exciting planned for this weekend at all. I'll need to pop to the shop at some point for milk and broccoli and fruity nutty snacks when my graze box runs out, but other than that no plans. I'm going to do another turf out of the flat tomorrow and try and find a few more things to sell, must be ruthless. My nail colour needs changing as it's been two weeks and is getting a bit shabby, but that's a DIY job (MSE, woop!). I'm going to dedicate as much time as I can on Saturday to the surveys and extra pennies, then Sunday is going to be a day 'off' of the extra pennies earnings, I'm going to go for a run then sew all day!

Gym tonight. Got Spag bol for dinner again out the freezer tonight, I know I keep banging on about it but that YS meat... amazing. I've still got two pork joints left and 7 packets of mince, It's lasting forever!

Actually saying that I might pop in early doors tomorrow and see if I can find any other bargains.

    Happy Friday all xx

  • Love yellow sticker meat! It's hard to find the right time to go I find though. Too early and the meat is only reduced a little, too late and it's all gone.
  • Just started my own diary. You are a real inspiration. really like your positivity. Have subscribed to your thread. Good luck!

Right? That last lot was the in between Christmas lot so I don't know if I'll find any more, but that was first thing in the morning so I'm thinking it might be worth the early start tomorrow as I need to go...

On second thoughts my freezer is full and I really don't NEED to be meat hunting right now. I'll go when I get up.
