What jobs do they currently have. I have experience in customer services.0

And the rates are low because you are working from home, therefore pay no travel/commuting costs of running a car/taking the train/bus for example and because apart from your own PC all the equipment you need is supplied to you for free, unlike the Arise homeworking job where you have to buy and sort out everything yourself.
I'd suggest the low rates are even more beneficial to Teletech with no need for extra office space and the additional expense that would incur.0 -
Its just one sort of job, you give technical advice to customers with broadband and telephone problems. Full training is given and loads of staff on hand to lend a hand after. I've been with them 2 and a half yrs and yes the pay is on the low side but considering it is from home, no travel costs and for me, no childcare costs it actually works out more beneficially.
Someone on another thread worked out that once they had taken out travel, childcare costs etc on a lowish paid job they were actually working for about £1 an hr or something ridiculous, and if you're like me and would have the pc if you weren't at work you wouldn't even been paying for extra electricity0 -
I would like to apply to Tele-tech, but just wanted to know if this a sales based job? I've recently left Arise due to the pressure to be a salesperson when I thought it was a customer service role. I enjoyed working on the phones and helping people, but just couldn't do the sales part of the call. Would appreciate if someone on this thread could fill me in about the exact nature of the work. Also I did look on their website a few months ago and it seemed their hours of work was 4.00pm to 11.00pm 7 days a week - has this changed now? Would prefer to work in the day whilst the kids are at school. Thanks in advance for any info.0

No it's a technical support role not a sales job-Dory has explained the job a couple of posts above yours. Hours of work haven't changed-the demand is there when people are at home rather than at work.
Rufff are you who I think you are ?
For me the savings on work clothes, travel time and expenses and the ability to have more time at home.......for example I might put dinner on during my break so it's ready as soon as I finish (I usually work til 8) and my commute time of five seconds is worth at least a couple of pounds an hour (and of course I pay less tax) and frees me up for another job I do - whereas if I did a similar job in a bricks and morter call centre locally a lot of that time would be eaten up with travelling and I don't earn sitting on the busI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Hours at present are 4-11 mon to fri and 3-11 sat and sun (got that shift to look forward to shortly!)
Duchy - who's Rufff? tell me later :P
Oh and sadly in training no more A-breaks :S (well unless the new person does it too)0 -
Thanks for the info - will go onto their website and start the application process. I will have no problem with the equipment specifications etc as I had to have a new computer system and separate phone line etc to work for Arise - just hope I'll be able to meet the other requirements - wish me luck0

I did the Arise training ages ago but decided it would be a bit boring so stuck with TT. On the other hand a friend of mine was with TT when there was a sales proect and really likes her Arise job (although she does help and stuff so maybe wouldn't be so keen otherwise
)
See you in half an hour Dory -I thought I'd booked today and tomorrow as holiday-and haven't..........Gutted !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Having loads of problems with the MatchPoint Assessment part of the application. Doesn't seem to like my computer as I'm running Internet Explorer 9
Have tried to complete application on my other computer which is running Internet Explorer 7, but it just comes up with a different error message - very frustrated! Is this normal??

Hooray!! Let me in at last and application is completed - just have to wait and see if I'm accepted (fingers crossed)0
