Hi, i used to work for tt a few years ago, i was thinking of coming back to work for them, i have contacted the hirepoint, and they wants me to arrange an interview call, the only problem is the only times i can find on the diary on hirepoint all start at 4pm, i work full time and its really hard for me to make it, does anyone know if they have times after 6pm? I called the contact number i was given but the lady i spoke to didn't really know much about the times, and said to log in every day to see if the times have changed, which i do anyway.
Hope someone can help really looking forward to coming back if i can, i was looking at doing customer service this time, not the tech support.
Thanks:T:hello:0 -
As far as I'm aware all the jobs are tech support jobs although obviously there is a fair amount of customer service within that. As for the timing of the interview, are you planning on not working full time if/when you get the job at TT? The only reason I ask is that you would need to be available from 4pm-11pm to enable them to arrange your shifts within that, and I'm pretty sure most of the training sessions are 4-8pm M-F
Good luck anyone starting their training today0 -
Just wondering if any working in UK from home for teletech used VoIP instead of landline.
If yes what service do you use, as I know that the main ones such as skype and vonage are not allowed?
Thanks.0 -
You can't use a VoIP service with the setup we have - it has to be a landline0

Hi guys, hoping you can help..
Just recieved the workbooth CD this morning and popped it in, everything seemed to be going ok, it booted fine, picked up all my hardware ok, I entered the project code, selected UK keyboard and then entered my Hirepoint ID and email address. The instuctions (from an email attachment) tell me that after Ive done this I should get either a Congratulations box, or an error box stating reasons why the CD isn't compatable, however I get neither of these. Once I have entered all the details and hit ok, the box goes away, it waits a few seconds, ejects the CD and takes me back to the boot screen, where I hit enter and my PC shuts down. There are no error messages that I can see, I've worked a little bit with linux based systems and I understand all the mumbo jumbo in boot screens etc and everything seems to look OK.
Has this happened to anyone else? I can't find any information about it, but what I'm more concerned with is weather my system passed or not. I have a high end computer that I custom built mainly as a gaming system so I don't have any outdated hardware or anything.
I am presuming I passed as I cannot see any error messages or anything telling me that my system isn't compatable, so can anyone confirm or deny this for me?
Cheers - Voo
P.S My CD is V.2.1 if that makes any difference.0 -

When you start workbooth you will notice there is a firefox browser at the bottom left, check that you can load web pages up ok if so that proves your network card is compatible.
Most workbooth incompatibility's stop you from getting to the actual workbooth desktop, then are a small handful of those who can get
to the desktop but don't have a network adaptor supported under workbooths drivers.0 -

Hiya Voo,
Don't worry. The hardware test is frustrating, that's for sure!
It is annoying that it doesn't tell you whether your system has 'passed' or not, but I didn't get any message, and neither did quite a few other people (and we're all now training).
The last message I saw was something about 'unloading the AGP modules' which is apparently standard with Linux.
Anyway, like I said, I never got a 'congratulations, you've passed' screen at all.
So, I called Tech Support - 0800 496 0879.
They *eventually* (be prepared to wait a little while) confirmed that although I didn't see any message, my PC had passed.
If you give them a call, I'm sure all will be ok. You may well find out that they've received the results at their end already, and that your PC has in fact already passed! (as was the case with me)
Good Luck with it all

Hey guys, thanks for the quick replies!
I will try firefox within workboth, I noticed the icon but didn't want to do anything incase I messed up lol.
Cheers Sim, "unloading the AGP modules" is the last line of code on the black screen for me too, right after it has ejected the CD, then pressing Enter on the keyboard shuts down my PC. Glad to hear it has happened to others and that you have passed fine.
I emailed our HR person about it but he hasn't replied yet so I will await his reply for a day or so and if no reply I will phone the number you supplied
Also just posted off all my contract and "section 1" documents so hopefully there will be no problem with those. I noticed however that there was no where to put you reference/referee contact details, I've also emailed about this but both times the question was just skipped over, but I am sure they will contact me when they need them.
Thanks again

Well it seems to be working as I am posting this from within the workbooth, however now i have to enter a "cheat code" to get it to boot and I had a couple of instances of my mouse freezing and having to hard reboot my PC, seems fine now tho. Just wondering why i have to enter the "linux acpi=off" everytime I want to boot now when my first 2 attempts earlier where fine :S0
