  • Ok have fun Duchy, me and the missus have started doing little bits of xmas shopping already since we have 3 kids , 2 of them have birthdays in december lol

btw do you definately 100% get christmas day off?
  • @ Duchy my workbooth disc arrived but like you said getting 'network card not detected' so I have ordered that usb - ethernet adaptor,
I was thinking though although that main pc will be the one I use for work, if I run the wb disc on my laptop and it passes, can I still switch back to my main pc once I get this adaptor?
  • its ok yes get in the workbooth disc worked after all, passed the cd test.

When I had the offer call they said Id get my training information (login for presumably meeting place?) on fri before I start training
so that would be the 15th oct, is that about right did you get get your training login just before you began training?
also do they use meeting place in conjunction with workbooth? how does it work? do we dial into a meeting place room and then login to wb?

    Cheers

You login to meeting place and do the training there, mostly via power point slides. Generally you won't login to workbooth till you are ready to go live. You will also do TT university courses, and need to pass those as part of your training. Don't worry, most of them are based on common sense.
  • lol do a degree in 3 weeks damn thats fast haha, nah I know what you mean I have 5 years of call centre experience and can imagine what sort of role plays and testy fun goes on.

    lol training is always fun

In answer to your earlier question about Christmas Day - no you don't 100% get it off, obviously it depends on your shift for that day and I believe last year they asked for x amt of volunteers first but obviously if no one volunteers then they would have to enforce working it. I will say though this could all change again, in previous years you got xmas day off but last year they decided we needed to be open but it could change all over again. Boxing day is never much fun as all the calls are the same - 'I bought my son a laptop and can't sort the wireless out...' and very busy too!!!

They will need to make sure everything works ok before you login. I think everyone has a few issues initially so don't worry.

I am another person who uses a usb stick as I couldn't get the disc to work, so it is a good alternative if you have issues with the cd.

Yup im a usb user also. Much quicker to load and more reliable than the cd's. My laptop is too modern?! for the cd to work I was told.
  • lol workbooth runs fine on my laptop but ideally I wanted to use it with my main pc, I used the usb-ethernet adaptor I posted the link previously to show Duchy but it still says on the network card not found.

which usb-ethernet adaptor do you guys use?

The one I ordered wasnt on the compat list on workbooth.info (but was only 3 quid so i tht what the hell lol)
ive ordered the startech one that is supposed to be compatable with wb, if that doesnt work ill have to use the laptop much to my wifes annoyance
  • so workbooth works fine on the laptop using vista but it doesnt work on my main pc running windows 7,
could it be windows 7 causing the problem ? does anyone here use windows 7 with wb

    thanks
