Does anyone know what sort of customer contracts they have and whether I could do a shift between 7 and 11pm during a week and a couple of early morning ones at the weekend. I understand all they want is 20 hours per week.
Do you get many calls coming in and what is their policy on toilet breaks, getting drinks and meal breaks? Also what happens if someone comes to your door can you go and answer it? If you start of part time how easy is it to increase your hours?
My laptop has the full windows suite of programs and I have broadband internet connection.
What customer service jobs are anyone doing?

There will be evening shifts from 7-11 available but there are currently no morning hours, although I think its different in sales.
If you work over 5 hours, you get a 30 minute unpaid lunch break and a 15 minute paid break, plus 12 minutes personal time per shift (thats for everyone) for loo breaks or to get a drink.
As long as you have an ethernet connection and a phone line that can be used during your shift, thats all you need.
As for the amount of calls, it varies from day to day. Sometimes its very busy, other times there are a lot fewer.0 -
Thanks for that Sanity. If you start of part time with 20hrs per week is there much opportunity to increase your hours, say if you like it and decide to do it full time from home?
12 minutes toilet time doesn't seem much. Are those break times and person allowance times per shift or per week? If per shift then for a 7-11 shift you would be entitled to no breaks of any kind. Most folks would need to go to the loo within a 4 hour period.

If you were doing that four hour shift you would have 12 minutes of personal time to use for toilet breaks etc..
Also if you started with 20 hours and wanted to increase it that wouldn't be a problem in sales. I started with 22 a week and now have 32.5. Overtime is always available and the hours are very flexible.
That is for the sales job, not sure about technical support0 -
I would be interested to hear anyones experiences with the at home technical/customer support. What the working conditions were like etc. Any problems and could you increase your hours from 20 if you wanted to. Is it worth it at the end of the day or is it more trouble then it is worth?

Yes, you can increase your hours, theres overtime available regularly, and lots of people wanting shift cover, so you can swap or do it as overtime.
Its worth it if you prefer to work from home, although currently there are quite a few system issues to deal with.0 -
If you choose to work extra as overtime do you get paid overtime rates or just the standard £6?0

Hi raverminx they are usually quite fast, i think they have just finished hiring for a big campaign as a few people including myself have just received offers and will start training next week. Try going onto the website and speak to someone on the "livehelp", they will prob get ur recruitment consultant to ring you or speed up the application process.
GOOD LUCK!! :beer:0 -
I have the same problem - I had to reschedule a previous interview - does it say something about 2-23 on the invitation? I called customer services and she said this means that time slots will be available from Feb 23rd and to check back then. we must just be in the next interview pool and need to wait until the week commencing to schedule our interviews.
Hope that helps
Got you! Yep it says 2-23 interview pool so that makes sense.
I'll wait until the 23rd ish then and if nothing happens I'll do as KzakQ suggested...
Cheers folks0
