Would love to insert a photo but no idea how to do it. Any tips?
You first of all need to upload you pics to a host site. I use Photobucket, but there are others available. Once you have your pics in there, on the pic you want to upload to the site, click *Direct Link* under the pic and it wil automatically copy the address.
On the thread where you want to insert the pic, start a reply. Click on the *insert image* icon (above the text - it looks like a postcard with a pic of mountains) and insert the address of the pic into the pop-up box. Click OK, and your pic should appear.
PM me if you need more assistance

Then I thought, OK, I don't think of the Lone Ranger (cos I've never seen it!) but I do think of (1) the soundtrack to a computer game we had on our Amstrad 1512 circa 1990, (2) mobile phone ringtones, and (3) a bizarre concert I went to once which involved the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra SINGING it instead of playing it. Will that do :rotfl:
Rzl xx
Yeah, that's fine Rzl:rotfl: :T I'm not actually that familiar with *The Lone Ranger* myself, but I did like the sentiment of the quote:D Suppose a more modern interpretation would be the hovis advert and Dvorak's New World Symphony.oldMcDonald wrote: »
I've got a hospital appointment at 8.10 this morning, and I will be in there for a while, so that will be this morning taken up. In the afternoon I'm going to join you, Churchmouse, in doing a ready-for-winter garden tidy up (but I will be working on my garden, sadly thats not an offer of help), then I have to go into college for an hour (an hour!!!).
Hope your appointment went OK. You got me all excited for a minute, wondered what time you'd be along!:rotfl:
Oh well I've made this coffee break really s-t-r-e-t-c-h so I could catch up with you all! Making progress in the garden, but it's a bit chilly out there, not like yesterday when it was lovely and warm, and I had other things to do. Need to work a bit harder to get warm I suppose:o
dlb hope DD feels better soon, and hilstep, mrs mix and mioliere, and PP. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone.
Pen-Pen sorry to hear about your back. Rest up and knit, best treatment going:D
Oooh DH just brought me another coffee!! I can surf a bit longer while I drink it:T
And can I please have a gold star? I read a thread about multiple quotes yesterday, and must have retained more than I thought because I've done it!!!!!!:AYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning all.....(((((((((HUGS)))))))) if you need one.........
Rant coming....................we have just been to the lottie, some little scroat has forecd the lock off our shed and the one next door!!!!!!!!! nothing takne, but thats not the point, we now have to go and buy a new bolt..........just mindless vandalism, none of the other sheds seem to have been touched, I rang the Poilice and also the local allotment officer to report it........how they got in is a mystery, but get in they did,
Picked a lovely cauli, tempted to take a pikkie of it and post it, also another 12 ozs of beans and dug a leek to make a pot of soup.
The pork from yesterday has sliced into enough for supper tonight and two more suppers for the freezer, so a good buy for just under £4. works out at 50p a portion............
OH is out this afternoon and again this evening, so a bit of free time, might get down to some sewing.......
The morning seems to have brightene up a bit, it was quite cool first thing, fleece time again!!!!!
The smell seems to have gone from the bathroom and kitchen, so I think I am right its coming from the drains.........the hall smells sweeter too, hope its not going to be an ongoing problem, cannot imagune what it will smell like when we come back from 3 weeks in France next year if it does!!!!! will have to see what we can do about it.
OH was in the civil servivce, I have applied to the benevolent fund to see if we can get cash from them to put a shower in the bathroom, the social services will only offer a bath seat which is no good to OH who needs hot water on his neck in the mornings, we can only have a bath if we kneel in it..we wait to see the outcome..............
Right off to get some lunch...............
PS Pen Pem, have a look at getting a tens machine from Lloyds Pharmacy, I got one for OH and his back has improved in leaps and bounds sine he started using it.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi all, just popping back on with a coffee.
HILSTEP - sorry you've got the cold from hell. Hope you feel better soon. I found Mackenzie's Smelling Salts (from any chemist) helped with the thick-headed feeling - just don't hold them too close to your nose 'cos they'll blow your head off! They do help clear that blocked-up feeling.
HEAVENLEIGH - hope your cold goes away soon. I won't recommend the smelling salts to you unless you've cleared it with your GP, seeing as you have a bump!
PENPEN - hope your bath helped your bad back; take it easy for the rest of the day. Thanks for the link to the Big Stitch in the knitting thread - I have loads of red wool so I'll make a square and spread the word amongst my fellow knitters! Great idea.
CRAZY - hope you can get rid of the grumps. Hope you have a good day today.
BLAIRWEECH - (((hugs))) to you and your poor OH. I can't believe how badly he's been treated; I hope you can get it sorted out soon. It must be very hard for both of you.
Well, have been to the bank and the shops. I had a nice stroll round the village today - the first time in ages. Picked up some bargain Christmas wrapping paper in Sainsbury's, along with reduced envelopes and notebooks and some girlie bags of hair thingies for some of the nieces for Christmas presents; I then went into the half-price book shop and bought some arty-crafty kits for some of the other children and then, in Savers, I bought some lovely mobile phone charms for £1.49 each - one of them was a real bargain because two had been put in the packet instead of just one! Unexpected BOGOF! I just need to cram it all under the spare bed with all the other Christmas stuff - if I can find any space! On Wednesday I plan to get it all out and see exactly what I've got and work out what else I need to buy. Hopefully, I've nearly finished it all - apart from the wrapping up!
Anyway, see you all later.

Afternoon all!
It's pouring from the heavens here and blowing a gale so I wasn't best pleased that OH took my car today and left us to walk into town for Dtwin2's optitian appt. We got drenched but at least she doesn't need specs. Mind you her sister kept telling her what the letters on the board were.
As we were leaving the optitian asked if we were heading home and Dtwin1 replied..."yes...we'll probably be left home alone again" Not entirely sure the guy saw the funny side so I'm expecting a knock on the door from Social services any minute.
Plans today are a big batch bake and to make macaroni cheese for dinner. Really struggling with the washing now as I can't get any of it dried.
PenPen....If you hadn't polished off the vat cooking sherry off beside the rayburn you wouldn't be going AOT and hurting yourself now would you??
Rest up and take care. x
Blairweech. so sorry for you and OH.
CrazyChik..I hope you're feeling better. x
Shez....believe me I am no domestic goddess. I spend my live chasing my tail and it always seems to be just out of reach.
Twink.....Are you ok??
Snowy.........Where are you????
Take care all.

Afternoon all
Like you Heavenleigh bump has been incredibly active this week. I'm starting to wonder whether he sleeps at all. I'm 26+1 day todaygetting closer to d day. Weekend was awful. Sat night was incredibly ill after over-doing the rich food - ended up ringing dad thinking I'd need to go to hospital. Rested Sunday. Today cleaned kitchen whilst being angry at OH because really he should be doing that, but then the electricity went out, something had tripped the switch which of course is in the top cupboard where I can't reach it. Ended up in tears on the phone to dad, who came over from work to switch it back on again. So now I'm back resting in bed with my porrige and the central heating on. I feel I deserve the luxury.

ARGH...Am I being old fashioned to still believe in 'helping people'????
OH went into the doctors on Friday in sheer desperation and begged, pleaded with her to try and get his appointment moved forward. 'Yeah, I'll do everything I can' she said (to no avail). ONE 2 minute phonecall to the neurologists secretary - new appointment Friday - so doctor obviously didn't do anything. We also spoke to out of hours care on Saturday and a person who specialised in neurotrauma who said that the 'medication' OH had been given has probably done him more damage!!!
Anyway, have done the ironing and the washing up. Just about to start on the cookiesWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
