  • Good morning everyone. Last week I fell and knocked my back. I thought I was on the mend, so did some work in the garden yesterday. I've clearly overdone it, as I can hardly move today. I've dosed up on painkillers, and am going to have a long, hot bath.

Think the housework will have to wait - thank heavens for my knitting :T :j I'm also getting to grips with podcasting, since The Archers started being delivered that way yesterday

Catowen - have you got your laptop working yet? I had a problem yesterday, and with help from the Techie board it was solved really quickly.

Muppet - any pictures of your new hens?

Aussie - love your style - bananas for a lettuce :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Congratulations to the Hilsteps:beer:

Have a great day, Penny. x

  • Morning all,

Well after dying all weekend with a dreadful cold thankfully i am feeling a little better this morning.
My ribs are feeling bruised from all the coughing and my nose feels like it has been scrubbed with sandpaper but other than that at least i have some energy and can stand up without feeling like passing out!

Girly bump has been very active over the weekend which has brought a smile to my face whilst in the midst of wishing i was unconcious:rotfl:

On a better note, my much hunted for nintendo wii has arrived this morning, thats the kids main present sorted for christmas! it took my 3 weeks of searching hourly online for one to come into stock and i hit it lucky on Friday afternoon, they were only in stock for 14 minutes but i managed to grab one.

I have also bought our fireworks this weekend for november the 5th, and the kids halloween costumes, it may be something you all do yearly but i feel so proud of myself for being on the ball this year, i'm usually running at the last minute.

Restful but productive day ahead i hope, hubby has been looking after me all weekend so now i feel better im going to try and tidy and cook today.

Hope all is well and hugs to those in need xx

N9eav - the 4 couse meal sounds a lovely idea, get her a matchbox car and wrap it up, it's still a car :rotfl:

Mioliere - i really feel for you with the cough are you feeling bruised too?

Aimee - enjoy your outing it sounds fab.

Redruby - rofl at dh making the bed rock, at least you are allowed in it! i'm 4½ months pregnant and have been relegated to the sofa due to having the lurgy, it's not as bad as it sounds i prefer the sofa anyway as we are in desperate need of a new matress and are waiting til the memory foam ones in netto are reduced before we buy one.

Mrsflitter - good luck at the dr's take no hostages lol.

    Chalky - :hello:

Love to all, a very snotty
    Leigh xx

    morning all!

am house/cat sitting at Mums this morning as she has got the plummer in putting in her shower. Mum was up in the night as her best friend who she also cares for part time had a fall and has broken a rib and punctured a lung - she's in her 80s so we are going to see her in Hereford hospital later.

Am back off to the docs in the morning, the wrist is a lot better but not back to normal, cant lift the kettle with it:eek: or peel the spuds and cant lift anything with any weight to it so dont feel ready to go back to work where I'll be pushing wheelchairs and having blind people hanging onto my arm, hope he gives me a sick note for another week off - will be 7 days tomorrow since I did it!

(((hugs))) to those suffering with colds, Mioliere, Mrs_Mix, Hilstep, Heavenleigh and anyone I've missed out!

AMIE - enjoy the Pumpkin house!

Hope PP and JackieO are ok (((hugs))) to them xxxx

very noisy here - lots of drilling going on - poor cat not too happy!

off for a browse, back later xxx

    Morning all,

Sorry haven't posted for a while - am having problems with OHs health. Basically, about 3 months ago he had a head injury and pretty severe concussion and is still suffering problems with his emotions/behaviour - he can only feel anger or desolation atm. Our doctors have handled the whole thing dreadfully - he doesn't have an appointment with the neurologist for another month :(. It took 6 visits to A & E before they would even consider giving him a scan despite the fact he couldn't talk!!! :mad  So, am just trying to look after him right now

Well, I don't know where all this glorious weather you all keep on mentioning is. It's grey and drizzly here. Still, got a load on the line and need to do another couple of loads. Might have to stick the fire on at this rate (when its going, it dries my washing in about 20 minutes :D)

OH bought a Nintendo Wii at the weekend - £150 plus 2 games which are on Ebay and will hopefully get £50 - so a bargain all in all.

Today, washing up, couple of bits of ironing, make Oatmeal and Raisin Cookies. I have to get on the phone to the neurologists secretary to desperately try and get his appointment moved forward.
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

REDRUBY... yes the one in Slindon.. but i havent got a clue off the address.. do you by any chancr have it.. otherwise we will just drive around Slindon and ask.. it cant be thet hard to spot can it ? !!!!i

Amie I have not got the address, but its really easy, there are only two roads in slindon, as you turn into the village keep on that same road untill you reach the top of the hill, then the road bears round to the left, follow this along and you can't miss it, its just before slindon college.

    Enjoy

Just back from the specialist GP appt, clutching another free arthritis mag, lots of advice on pain management, positive thinking and the sinking feeling I am in for the long haul and had better get used to it. So shall shut up and put up.

Spotted a boots £5 off perfume voucher under a car on the road but no way of reaching it without getting stuck under there when along came DS! it is now drying on the radiator.

Waiting to see if the post comes today.

Enjoyed my train ride - very theraputic until I needed the loo! On the way back on Saturday it was very crowded but first class was empty! So, asked and paid £10 extra to travel first class (weekend special offer). Definitely worth doing on a long journey as you get loads of room, very comfortable seats and FREE soft or hot drinks - which appeared to be unlimited!
    Shall budget for next time.

Thinking of Pen Pin and Jackie O.

Blairweech - hope you and OH get that appointment soon, it sounds like a nightmare.

Get well soon to all who are under the weather!

Off to do my piggy clicks!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
