After several months of doing what they said they would, they now seem to have no idea what they are doing at all! They increased my direct debit by almost three fold. Haven't answered my enquiry. And the lastest statement seems to indicate they are charging twice for the same supply!

Anyone know how to get things sorted?

    No reply from Ombudsman. :(

Out of interest, what is the OFTM DD known as now

They are sending emails via a company called Direct Debit Notice.co.uk

Just spoken to a chap at OFTM about my account. (I got through immediately on 0800 103 2702).

He told me that they are planning to halve my DD payments next month, so I take that as a positive sign.

I complained to the CEC and they didn't seem to care. Watch out, it seems it's not the fire and forget solution I was led to believe it was.

    Ditto.

Out Fox The Market are taking so long over my switch away to People`s Energy that another DD is due, this will put me overdrawn, thanks for that.
I have just struggled to communicate on their web chat service , had to provide the same details twice.
A very inefficient and frustrating process.
Cancelled my DD although there is no guarantee that it will not still be taken.
They already have money of mine that I was hoping to be refunded soon.

There comes a point when any money saved is negated by the inconvenience and frustration.
(I am turning into one of those whinging people that I dont like)

Looks like you are still using the 'zapp april 2018' tariff which is a legacy tariff now - I wish I could go back to those low april prices but the current zapp rate is now much higher and it will be even higher from 1/1/19 - having said that OFTM is still one of the cheapest but no longer THE cheapest

What tariff should customers be using now then?

My OFTM bills still say I am on Zapp!

I officially left OTM on 24 Dec 2018. On 21 Dec, I sent them my final meter readings, emphasising that, as I had told them in a previous email, that I was leaving OTM & the exact date of the switch plus photos of my meters as proof. Also from their website, under my account, I copied what I had paid since joining (at end Oct 2018) and then checking the cost per kWh for each fuel plus the standing charge did primary school level sums to show that what I had paid matched almost perfectly with the amount of fuel (including the standing charge) used. I laid these extremely simple sums out in the email containing the final meter readings and photos. I was £2.79 in debit. I asked them to let me know IMMEDIATELY if they disagreed. I heard nothing, so assumed it was agreeable to them. Then on Saturday (19 Jan 2019, my latest bank statement arrived. It showed a DOUBLE amount to.my usual monthly DD, taken from my bank on December 31 AFTER I had left them..
I immediately contacted OTM stating that I was no longer their customer and asked for my money back. I included copies of the previous emails showing my meter readings
This was their reply. Almost word for word the same excuse Economy Energy used to hold on to my money.
Your new supplier will send us your readings once you have switched away. On the way, the readings go through the electricity and gas industries to be validated. Your old supplier can take up to 4 - 6 weeks to produce their final bill, if you haven’t received it after this time, please get in touch. Once the final bill has been produced we will then refund any credit on the account
No apology, no promise to immediately refund this huge payment. I shared all this on Trustpilot and OTM are doing to me what they have done to many other people - complaining it’s derogatory and unfair and breaches regulations and must be blocked. In other words, since I did not directly accuse them of being cheats or liars or anything derogatory, merely stated the facts and warned others to beware of OTM.
I have told OTM that unless this money is refunded, I will take out a Direct Debit Indemnity to get back whatvis rightfully mine. I did it with Economy Energy who tried the same excuses as to why they couldn’t refund me.
I suffer very badly from Rheumatoid Arthritis, a disease which means I live solely on Incapacity Benefit and can hardly afford to have any heating on. I told them this, but they appear uninterested. Economy Energy all over again!
Now I will post this and see if OTM want to block this as well!
