I've decided to switch to Arvo energy fixed for a year. Really got tempted by People's Enegy as they look interesting and a little cheaper.

However, as another variable tariff I just can't see prices coming down soon and want a bit of stability after this. £30 uswitch cashback makes them about the same price for me for a year.

My parents have started a move to Bristol energy. So that's two more customers foxy have lost.

This will be my fourth provider this year, as long as foxy don't try to block me.

    Good luck people...

Why am I not seeing the same suppliers come up in the energy club list as Uswitch ?

Probably because Uswitch is trying to keep up to date. MSE on the other hand seem more interested in cheap tabloid type rubbish than actually presenting facts.

Sadly the days are gone when I trust the information on this site. Sure they've got disclaimers saying to do your own checks, but as a site that used to pride itself on saving consumers money it falls a long way short.

Have you tried changing your settings to include/exclude fixed deals, deals not available through the sites etc?

Well I already signed up with So Energy via the energy club 2 days ago so a guess as the process has started it's too late. :(

You pay the tariff applicable to where you live, so paying a different rate to another poster is irrelevant and not grounds for a grumble!

It wasn't a grumble. It was an observation.

All was fine until the latest round of price hikes - they tell me my usage then tell me my projected annual cost - but when I calculate the projected annual cost using THEIR OWN FIGURES it turns out they mis-calculated the projected cost by over £100.

Also, the monthly membership fee has been swapped for a 28p per day standing charge, almost doubling this part of the cost.

Definitely unhappy and looking for a more reliable supplier.

If anyone needed any further evidence of OFTM's cynicism, my new "winter" direct debit is due to come out of my account tomorrow at their incorrectly derived figure. So despite me successfully querying and this and getting an emailed amendment from them on 22nd Nov, they've said they weren't able to adjust the DD in time - quoting a need for 10 working days to amend it.

To me, the shift to a 70:30 split smacks of a company with a very big cash-flow problem, and this was some bright spark's idea to plug the gap short term. Coupled with the price hikes, it's commercial suicide.

I had already pushed the button to leave early last week, but this just confirms what a mess they're in. While I can absorb the extra £100 they're taking from my DD this month, there will be many not so fortunate.
  • With all these changes in tariffs means that the Energy Saving Club comparisons will be using the old price.

My current tariff "Zapp! December" isn't in the list sadly, and the list of Tariffs under OFM is pretty exhaustive.

The whole thing sounded simple to start with, but has now turned into a confusing mess as much as the other networks, and just feels like a bait and switch.

I see that a discussion group has been set-up on Facebook, to enable people to freely discuss OFTM.

In their opening remarks: "This group was set up as an alternative to TrustPilot where Outfox The Market are getting genuine reviews removed."
