TALLDAVE, THAT'S A GOOD POINT, HOWEVER, DUEL-FUEL ALWAYS WORKS OUT CHEAPEST IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE AND YOU CAN SWITCH TO A CHEAPER TARIFF IMMEDIATELY WITH OUTFOX THE MARKET!
    I doubt that's true either.

Before I give the details, for clarity, my house is 4 Bed detached, brick with insulated cavity, built 1952 2.5Kw solar PV on FIT scheme, high efficiency boiler with tado heating / boiler controller. Any spare generated electricity is diverted to my immersion heater. Location HA8, Edgware. We are 2 retirees.

CEC advice was given on the usage parameters as advised on my billing, not sure where the small variance below came for the quote, I fed in the same usage data for the quote.
Just now the CEC comparator reports -Congrats, you're already on a cheap deal.If you don't already have a fixed tariff, consider switching to one if you need price surety.
    And Yorkshire Energy Variable would cost +£8 more pa , whilst OTM Fix'd 20 10.0 would cost +£65 more pa. & Fix'd 20x 5.0 +£75 more pa.

Your estimated annual cost is £1,378
Your estimated annual cost is based on a usage of 7045 kWh of Electricity and 14876 kWh of Gas, which were the details you gave us when you signed up. It may change with usage and will become more accurate with regular readings.
We’ve set your Direct Debit to £114.80, based on your estimated annual cost. We’ll collect an initial payment on your first day of supply (this is currently scheduled for 4th October 2019)

    Orbit Energy
Your estimated annual cost (incl. VAT), or personal projection, is £1,267.30 (£863.45 electricity, £403.85 gas) based on a usage of 7,044 kWh Electricity, 14,868 kWh Gas.

I trust that the information here answers any issues in the above posts. Actually we effectively pay nothing for our energy as the FIT income together with our Winter Fuel Payments broadly covers our energy costs.

RALPHS, YOU MISLED ME BY STATING THAT YOU'RE A LOW USER BECAUSE BY OFGEM'S DEFINITION YOU'RE A HIGH USER, THEREFORE, ORBIT ENERGY OR YORKSHIRE ENERGY ARE CHEAPEST FOR ABOVE AVERAGE USERS!

I DON'T TRUST ORBIT ENERGY BECAUSE THEIR RATES EXCLUDE VAT!

That's really not low usage at all. We use 1750 kWh of electricity and 6750 kWh of gas (2 adults, 2 kids in a 3 bed terrace with 3.42kWp solar PV). Your usage is more than 2.5 times ours. By any definition you are high users. You'd probably benefit from turning off the radiators in the rooms you don't use and turning your thermostat down by a degree or two.

As I said, a 4 bed 1952 detached house, 2 retirees who are mostly at home & fairly generous room sizes. Compared to a dozen or more similar households that I have asked, we use the least energy RELATIVE TO SIMILAR HOMES.
I have been quite open and gave ALL the necessary data, not attempting to obfuscate anything.  Comparing each SC and unit price above Orbit are cheaper than the OTM tariff I was on. A current CEC quote shows we are with the cheapest supplier FOR US.

Most of our radiators have motorised system programmable TRVs. Rooms not in use are maintained at a low temperature. If the sun is shining sufficiently, automatically the boiler doesn't heat the hot water

At no stage was it my intent or wish to mislead, just informative.

@RalphS for a house with gas heating you are using an unusually large amount of electricity.  We're in a 5 bed detached, 2 adults 1 child, both working from home and electricity is looking to be 4800 kWh, whilst gas is heading for 41,000kWh. And even that consumption should be less over the next 12 months as the last of the halogen bulbs have now gone.
So I wonder if there's something eating the juice you're not aware of?
