  • It is a tight month for me, didn't work much in May because of placement so pay is a bit thin in June. Should be better as I am going to bust out some serious hours over the summer. Update form filled in. I am down, but definitely not out! :)

My June update: a nice little £1,120.24 :)

A fairly good month all round, just that I'm stashing money away for our holiday in August and have started physio (£55 a pop but it's really helping!) so I didn't save the c. £1,400 I would have liked to have done.

I think it's time for me to admit that I won't make my original £14,000 target for the year so I'm reducing my target to £12,000. This will still be tough as I'll need to average nearly £1,200 for the rest of the year and I'll be moving jobs with a few weeks unpaid between them, but at least it's more achievable than the target I set before setting my sights on a big holiday :rotfl:

  • A total of £2,200 added during June, meaning that I'm now up to £10,700 during 2018, which I'm happy with as it means I'm at above 50% of my target after 6 months.
    Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
    Mortgage July 2007 - £0
Original Mortgage Termination Date - Nov 2018
    Mortgage Interest saved - £63790.60
    ISA Profit since Jan 1st 2015 - 98.2% (updated 1 Dec 2020)
  • £1500 for June. That makes just on 80% of my target reached in 50% of the time, which is very encouraging. I've got a few expensive weekends over the summer though, so it's good that I'm ahead now.

    Enjoy the weather everyone!:)

    £154.23 saved for May.

I'm amazed thats all I've saved, but the figures on my spreadsheet don't lie!

I've been re-allocating a lot of money from P2P to savings account, which is obviously earning a lot less interest now. I'm mainly concerned about platform risk after what happened at Collateral, but I think I might put some back into my preferred platform (in terms of lowest relative platform risk), RateSetter.

Been continuing to open bank accounts to access regular savers, but it all seems a lot of work for a bit of interest in 12 months time and only for limited amounts.

In addition I've come to realise I'm still miles away from being able to afford a place in London, which kind of upsets me and sometimes makes me think theres no point in all this!!!

This graph makes me sad

    £973.19 saved for June.

    Much improved over last month!

Have finally been able to make the improvements to my saving spreadsheet I've been planning on doing for ages (now that my exams are over). :) Its looking much better and gives me a clearer picture of where things are and how they're doing.

Also have done a tidy up of all my standing orders, its amazing how lots of little pockets of money here and there which I thought were required to meet minimum requirements are actually not required (because I meet the minimum requirements in other ways) and was able to move them elsewhere to earn some interest.

Currently got a (relatively) large chunk of money in transit from my S&S ISA to Cash ISA, so far it has gone smoothly and fingers crossed it carries on that way!

Have a great weekend all and enjoy the sun (and football!) :D

Slowlyfading - I have a small suggestion I was hoping you could consider. Would it be possible to add an 'Monthly average' amount for each saver? I would be happy to help if it would make it easier, I'm sure there is a formula that would make it automatic (so you don't have you constantly fiddle around with it).

    For June :D

It's not a fortune but it's something ~ and I'm now 2/3 of the way to target!

Next month should be better as DH has a permanent job for 2 days a week on top of his S/E work. It'll be nice to have regular money after all this time.

    Keep Going Everyone :T
