Great to see more updates from you Pauline. Happy to see you are doing well (mostly) in Spain. Nice to see you will be back for Christmas, I remember spending one Christmas in Spain as a child and for me it just wasn't the same.

Well done on the weight loss Pauline. It's great that you've managed to find a way of eating that suits you.

Lovely to see you posting again.

    Good evening

I have watched all the Remembrance commemorations over this week. It always amazes me how so many gave so selflessly. I had intended to go to one of the local Legion services however I have had some sort of virus where I have been feeling dizzy and generally unwell for the last few days. I'm still under the weather and rather sad tonight for some reason.

I rent out my house in UK as I was living in my Ex's house. I think I will sell when/if they leave but that isn't too likely as they have been there seven years. I wouldn't buy over here though because I have heard some dreadful stories of selling properties here. It would also let me try living in different regions of Spain which I think would be fascinating.

Christmas at my mums will be fine. I actually like cooking and she has a fantastic kitchen. I find it easy to plan the menus as I have worked in professional kitchens back in the day. I would normally use the freezer as someone suggested but I won't be back until 20th December. It's just the thought of having to go to a supermarket that scares me stiff. The agoraphobia is still an issue for me unfortunately.

So tomorrow is another day..... plans include food shopping (just used the last of the milk, aaagh, no tea in the morning), weigh in, a walk on the coast, menu plan and find my mojo - if you have it please send it back straightaway, it's needed here.

There are still so many things to sort although coming to Spain has made a huge difference and has allowed me to start to recover.

Things for which I am grateful:
    • MSE forums and particularly the people on the DebtFree Diaries
    • The sacrifice of those while serving our country. And the way it was commemorated.
    • A beautiful sunset

Take care everyone, have a good week
    Pauline

Would online shopping be any use? You would have to book a slot quite early as it's so close to Christmas, but maybe your Mum wouldn't mind if the food was delivered before you came, which would give you a bit more scope.

Well all the good wishes must have worked as today I woke up feeling so much better.

It's been beautifully sunny and warm here today. Washed bedding and I am really looking forward to the joys of a fresh bed later.

I had a 35 minute walk on the beach this afternoon which was absolutely fantastic - fresh air, sun and free exercise. It was very blowy but there was no sign of the rain that had been forecast.

It's just a 12 minute drive so I have no excuse not to go. I took a bottle of water and a sweater which was all I needed. Everyone I met smiled etc which made it even better. There was even a brave sole in the water but that was a step too far for me.

I came home and made myself sausage traybake with six vegetables which was delicious. Also prepared pork casserole for tomorrow too.

I will do an online shop to be delivered to my mums which will reduce the stress of getting the food for Christmas.

It was really useful to have pre-prepared meals in the freezer as I really wasn't up to making anything. I have added to my freezer stash of prepared vegetables so the diet will be back on track again.

Things for which I am grateful:
    • sunshine
    • fresh bedding
    • residents gardening and improving the look of the urbanization
    • smiles from strangers

    Take care everyone

Finally putting something on my thread. Do you know what I mean when I say I am really boring myself? Wish I could find that magic switch that resets my mind.

Today I had a lovely walk on the beach and met less than ten people in forty minutes. I did challenge a woman who didn't clear up her dog's mess!! It didn't half surprise me that I actually did something about it. The sea was quite warm in fact and it was beautifully clear. It seems an age since we have had a clear day here.

Then I went home, ate an apple and cooked myself pork, stuffing, roast potatoes and onions, sprouts, peas and gravy. It was delicious. Usually I would eat whatever was quickest, not thinking of the calories. The apple stopped that mad dash to the fridge. I must remember how successful it was in stopping overeating.

Having lost 16lbs in 5 weeks, I have come to a distinct standstill. I have stayed the same for the last 3. I guess mainly because I haven't really been out for ages as the torrential weather makes a great excuse for becoming a recluse.

I return to UK in approx three weeks and I am already getting anxious. I have always disliked the enforced jollity of commercialised Christmas and as I get older, I am beginning to hate it.

So tomorrow I have arranged to go to a small Christmas market then have lunch out!! Go me. Then I am going to source one of those long reach rubbish picker-things. When I was walking today I saw lots of rubbish and if I had one of these gadgets I could make the beach just a little nicer. A walk with a purpose too.

Take care everyone, enjoy what is left of the weekend
    Pauline
