Good afternoon
Yes I did spend Christmas on my own and actually it was OK. Not as bad as I'd expected.
I haven't been out since Saturday but I will rectify that later as I need milk. I can live without many things but I draw the line at no tea! I mean a girl has standards.
I read constantly. I have just finished The Betrayal by Kate Furnivall. It was absolutely riveting. It's about France in 1938 and the beginnings of a resistance but mainly about the relationship between twin sisters. I am interested in France during the 20th century, particularly the war years and the stories behind the scenes.
My books come from the local library which has a pretty good selection and I make use of their e-books and magazines online. I am trying to increase actual book reading at night as I find it hard to settle and think it might have something to do with late night tablet use.
Overall I am not happy at the way I am handling things and it will change. IT WILL CHANGE
I have kept up with the money saving things such as surveys etc but I have shut myself away which is making the situation ridiculously insurmountable which it clearly isn't.
Here is the line in the sand

So the situation isn't going to improve unless I take action.
It is four days till New Year and I can make some little positive steps- out of the house twice a day
- complete CV update and proofread
- one proper walk in the countryside
- 20 mins cleaning per day
- leave tablet downstairs at night
I think that will do for now
Thanks for caring

They sound like great steps. I agree with the tablet use at night, I also prefer having an actual book to read. That book sounds like it was a good read. Try not to shut yourself away, I know how tempting it is to stay hidden away but it really does help to get out and about when you can.
Take care of yourself.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0
